This was a fun, informational little museum to visit while waiting out a passing summer thunderstorm. The interpretation of photos and artifacts is well done and the museum staff are knowledgeable and helpful; they even let the kids ring the giant bell out front! Loved the well-stocked bookstore, too.

We recently visited the Stanley Museum and enjoyed it very much. Lots of history there and neat things to look at from the past. Sarah, the director, was especially helpful with information about not only the museum, but the area around there.

This museum is definitely worth the stop, as well as visiting Stanley. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, not only about the history of the area but the hiking trails and other activities in the area. Visiting the area is best in the fall when there are fewer people and before many places close for the winter.

Cute museum. The kids had a ball and learned a lot including how the ice house worked.

This place has a lot of history. I've known it since I was a kid. If you're new to the area, it's a must stop to learn about the history of the area.

The naturalists here were kind and helpful. We especially enjoyed the ice house out back which was actually cold! My 4 year old Queen Elsa fan liked seeing real ice harvesting equipment. My 7 year old math enthusiast liked the list of prices of different items back at the turn of the century vs. Today

This was a really great place to see more of Stanley's history. We had an engaged volunteer that made the visit even more fun. I would recommend a stop here for sure!

I missed the Stanley museum, but Salmon has a world-class museum, run by a Ph.D, ISU prof. Hope Benedict, specialist in Western and Western Women's history, which is pretty cool as Sacajawea's home is in the area. 10 stars. On par with Smithsonian in terms of content and the venues decent, too. Great setting in Salmon. (I was there 6 years ago, that good).

The lady at the visitor center told us not to miss this place. Sadly it was closed. Friday 9-13-19. Why??
