Small but clean room behind the main building. Great views of the Sawtooth Mtns from the property. We had a great, actually amazing dinner in the restaurant there. Had the opportunity to meet the owner and learn some history of the property and town of Stanley. Highly recommend staying here or visiting the restaurant. Photos are the Roasted Beet salad and Sawtooth Bowl.

The sawtooth hotel restaurant was incredible! We went because they had labeled vegan options on their menu. The food was incredibly fresh and tasty. I loved that they also had a non alcoholic beer available. Such great views from their patio!

Overall our experience was good. Nothing to exciting about it. The rooms were adequate but were clean & comfortable. The service was very helpful & friendly. The beds were comfortable to sleep on. There is no microwave or mini fridge. That would be a nice addition to the rooms to accommodate to clients needing to keep food cool so bring a cooler like we did if that is something you'll need. The bathrooms are shared and I was surprised to find that the shared setup was well maintained & cleaned regularly. I have not have the best of luck in the past with those shared accommodations so it was a pleasant surprise to see they stayed on top of that. Never had issues with us having to wait in lines to get into the bathroom or shower so that was also a plus.If you do stay, do your best to not book a room in the front of the building. Those rooms sit above the restaurant & are not sound proof so you will hear everything including the post dinner clean up. I'd recommend bringing a sound machine. We happened to have one & it saved out nights sleep for both nights that we stayed. They were clear in the reservation that the room we booked would be that way so we appreciated the full disclosure on that so that we could properly be prepared rather than have an unwelcoming surprise. I would have left a 1 or 2 star review if it were not for the sound machine. Nothing is worse than not being able to get sleep because of rowdy noises at the place you stay. It would be nice if they had a sound machine already provided in the room for future tenants.Overall, it was a fun place to stay. Would just make a few minor changes in the future if we happened to have the opportunity to stay here again.Rooms: Do not book a room in the front part of the building. Those rooms are not sound proof & sit right above the restaurant. You'll hear everything.Noteworthy details: If you do book a front room of the building, highly recommended to bring a sounds machine to muffle out the restaurant noises.

Amazing place located in the heart of Stanley. Started our night off with crispy pork belly lettuce wrap and a Mediterranean style cauliflower. Followed up with their brisket and schnitzel with a caper beurre blanc sauce and their homemade sourdough rolls. Lastly we enjoyed their fudge brownie ala mode. Great atmosphere and cozy vibes made for a very enjoyable dinner.

Fantastic! We were referred by our rafting guide and she didn’t disappoint. I can’t really describe the flavors (as my mind was blown) but I was so happy and delighted. I was hesitating leaving a review as being and Idahoan I’d like to keep these secrets but this restaurant deserves a shout-out. We sat at the bar and our server was incredible. Having been a food critic for Gordon Ramsay I can honestly say this place is top notch and will without a doubt be added to my A-list recommendations.

This winsome, hand-wrought property is a must stop if you're passing through or vacationing near Stanley. We stayed here for two nights in mid-September and had a great experience. Our room was well furnished and the bathrooms were really nice! We had an attached bathroom in our room that was really well built, but we also checked out the shared bathrooms and they were on point as well. The hotel is rustic and it was cool to see all the handcrafted details that a chain hotel would lack.We loved the incredible dining room and bar downstairs and all of the historic and custom-built furniture and decor across the entire hotel.Everything in this place has a story to tell. It's hard to explain in a review. The hotel itself has a great history and it's quite clear the current owners rebuilt this establishment with great care and passion. This place really is a triumph and needs to be experienced, not just read about.

My friends and I had dinner at the Sawtooth Hotel. We asked our waitress what the signature dish was she said get the Brisket or Schnitzel, ‘they are life changing”. I got the brisket my friends got the schnitzel and Vegan lasagna. Not only did my life change I grew 2 inches. Amazing dinner. It would compete with any NYC restaurant. No joke. All while watching the sun setting over the Sawtooth. 10 outta 10.

MUST stop if you are staying in or just passing through Stanley. One of the best meals of my life. The pork schnitzel was off the charts, the pork belly lettuce wraps were mouth watering. We tried the cauliflower app, the halibut, and the brisket and were blown away by every single dish. Brought carrot cake home with us and it was also to die for. 10/10 in every aspect!

This was a fun place to stay. We stayed in one of the cozy rooms in the building in the back. The owners are super nice and friendly. Unfortunately the restaurant wasn't operating when we were there, so we were relegated to cooking in our room, and it turned out the cook stove didn't work too well. Nevertheless, we will definitely stay here again when travelling in the area.

Cute hotel in a great location. Staff is super friendly. One thing to note though is that it stays incredibly loud through 10pm because rooms are right above the restaurant. Not great for early hiking mornings. Unless you can sleep through noise, you’re also going to wake up before 9am because it gets loud downstairs with people talking and children yelling before then. You can hear it all word for word too: (Adult woman) “We didn’t have to bring you on this trip! We wanted to spend time with you but not when you act like this!” (Child yells in response.) And if they’re not speaking some kind of TV is playing, also loudly.Only stay here if you really don’t care at all about sound, or have no other choice.

Perfect place for breathtaking scenery w) authentic mountain-cabin features. Older 1930's original remodeled building with a high end restaurant on the main floor. Hostess/owner Kelli was very accommodating with my later check-in time. Separate bathroom s and shower stall with clean remodeled finishes. Sheets were soft & cozy. Towels were thick and soft. Plenty of pillows for your comfort. Screened wood window to allow for a mountain air breeze. Outdoor patio and grassy sitting area to relax and drink your morning ☕ coffee that's provided with your stay 😍

We stopped in for a night to hide out from some bad weather. It was off season and mid-week so for the most part we had the place to ourselves. It was perfect...very comfy, cozy, warm fire, and occasional amazing views when the clouds would clear. The owner is really what locks in the 5 stars though. She was so nice, warm, and welcoming and made us feel completely at home.

We only started here one night, but it was great to take a break from camping and take a hot shower. There is no AC, but with the cooler nights it wasn't an issue even in early September.

The Sawtooth hotel set the tone for an unforgettable and glorious week hiking and exploring the Sawtooths. I based myself here to hike and day trip around the area, and it's a splendid location. The owner, Kelly, was incredibly accommodating and friendly. On the website, I was only able to book the cabin I wanted for two nights, but when I called she was able to arrange for me to have it for five consecutive nights.I had a queen room with a private bath behind the main house. The rooms are small and rustic, but clean and very comfortable. Perfect for one person or a couple. It had everything I wanted, and the room stayed nice and cool, even during a hot summer day. One bonus was the incredible views of the Sawtooths I had from my window and the hotel in general. You couldn't wish for a more scenic setting.During COVID, there hasn't been any breakfast offered, but fresh brewed coffee was available at 7 a.m. in the main house. With the Stanley Baking Co. nearby, that wasn't an issue. The hotel has a dining room and serves dinner in the evenings (outdoor seating during COVID), and after trying a few of the other restaurants in town, I can say with great confidence the food here stands apart from the others in terms of quality and service. Even if I wasn't staying at the hotel, this is where I'd suggest eating. Everything here is masterfully done and made from local fresh ingredients. The Prime Braised Brisket is just a must, so rich and delicious, and the brisket so tender you could cut it with a fork. Not only that, you have a prime view of those beautiful Sawtooths while you dine. This is the spot!I'm hoping to make the Sawtooths an annual retreat, and Sawtooth Hotel will be my landing spot whenever I'm in the area. Thanks for a wonderful week!

This is the best place to eat in Stanley in my opinion. Tim and Becky and Kelly are the owners adn they are the best people as well. I always bring my river guests here for a festive farewell dinner and everyone loves it. The Pork Schnitzel is the bomb!

We had a great stay at this charming hotel. We stayed in one of two rooms with an en suite bath, however the common bathroom was nice and would likely accommodate travelers well. There are many homey touches in the rooms and common areas. We would recommend a stay!

I am giving one star rating because of our bad expirience with the main course. My wife ordered Alaskan wild salmon to be cooked rare, and I ordered NY strip steak to be cooked medium. Food arrived and both salmon and steak were greatly overcooked. The salmon was dry and the steak was more than well done. We sent it back. Next round arrived, salmon was slightly better but still dry but the steak WAS STILL OVER WELL DONE. I mean there was not a sign of pink in the middle and it was dry. At this stage I gave up on steak and we shared my wife's salmon. I mean any chef or a manager having ruined two 12 oz NY strip steaks could at least come and ask what the problem was. Nothing, they did not care I guess. My only assumption is either their steak "chef" has no idea what a medium steak should look like or this is a tourist trap and they just don't care. In mitigation they've comped corkage and gave us a dessert. Our waitress was great and she felt embarrassed. Bottom line, stay away from steak and salmon. I guess they no longer know how to cook steak in the middle of cowboy country. I had steaks all over ttheUS and I HAVE NEVER SENT STEAK LET ALONE TWO STEAKS back. This is how bad it was.

Nice cozy place, good views. Stayed in one of the rooms out back with a kitchenette. The room was a little small but that wasn't much of an issue. We did not try the restaurant on site.

I try to get up here at least on e a summer and I am constantly impressed by the quality and diveristy of the meals they offer plus the amazing community of locals that bring their warmth and talents to bear on a near nightly basis.
