For a small hotel in the middle of nowhere, great stay. Not super modern, very basic and homey. Nice staff, clean rooms and if you reserve a spot at the private hot tub, its totally worth it. Walls are a bit thin so if you're a light sleeper, i recommend ear plugs. The views are breathtaking and definitely a place to stay. The mountain village lodge next to the hotel has delicious food and serves all day.

Stayed elsewhere in Stanley, but we ate at the Mountain Village Resort restaurant twice during our visit and the food was amazing both times. Came in for drinks and appetizer on Saturday night -- friendly bartender and excellent nachos. The weekend prime rib special looked so good that we decided to come back Monday for a steak. Huge juicy rib eye with delicious veggie sides -- best steak ever. Kudos to Ashley our waitress and Dustin the chef behind this great meal.

Definite plus of staying here is the hot spring! That was an amazing experience. We booked the room the day before check in and were told to call the morning of check in to make hot springs reservations. I attempted calling multiple times throughout the day and left a message. No one answered the phone until around 2pm. Luckily they still had a late night spot open. The room we stayed in was basic and a little outdated, but clean. The walls were thin and we could hear a lot of what our room neighbors were doing. The ceiling would also crack loudly intermittently and woke us up a few times.Breakfast next door was pretty tasty, server was friendly! Prices were around $13-16 per meal.

I had wrote an honest review about two weeks ago and was reached out to by Russel Clark in not a great manner. I used to work at mountain village and loved the people and the mountains. I was blinded by the beauty and realized after 3 months that there is so much corruption within the business. They’ve belittled me, stole my money, accused me for illegal activities, and shown me they do not care for their employees various times and still to this day. If you ever feel like working or moving to Stanley I recommend never working for mountain village. I’m not the first to feel this way, I am the first to have the courage to say something.

Our group was told yesterday we could access the hot springs at the mountain village inn, but as the next day approaches, we were denied by Bre and we’re told the wrong hours of operation. Totally feel like we got taken advantage of. They don’t prioritize you unless you’re staying with them at their hotel. No reservations either? Makes me think they prioritize who they want and want what’s most convenient for them. Horrible business.

Pretty disappointed by this place. Although we weren’t guests we went to the front desk to book a time to use the hot spring. The guy told us it’s first come first serve and to come back in the morning at 8am when they opened and we would most definitely get a spot. We did exactly this and the woman at the front was unkind and said we couldn’t soak. I think they need to get all their employees on the same page with rules and hours. It is also pointless to call because they do not answer their phones. If you’re planning a trip out here to soak don’t count on this place.

the location of MVR is unmatched. my family and i stayed here for a few days as my husband and i got married over the weekend over at stanley lake, and the service and rooms were great! the kitchenette suite was so cute and had a super comfortable bed, room was also super clean and i loved the rustic cabin vibe. totally recommend if you’re just passing through for a night, or wanting to stay and explore the area for multiple days. the hot spring access is also such a cool part of the stay. this time of year is much slower, so reserving it was very easy and its a must do if you stay here!Rooms: the rooms were very well kept, clean, and cozy.Nearby activities: theres so much hiking in the area, stanley lake and redfish lake are both great spots. sun valley being an hour away too is nice if you enjoy that area and that vibe. so many spots off the side of the road worth checking out and exploring!Walkability: you can walk to the other shops & restaurants so easy from the resort. i believe its only a 9 minute walk to the bakery, the pizzeria, etc. plus you get to enjoy the view!Food & drinks: the resorts food was insanely good. we went for breakfast and dinner multiple times and had both great service and great food everytime.

The room was ok but there was no fan or lock for the bathroom. There were tons of flies in the room. I killed like 10. The toiletries were also a fail, the lotion had gritty debris in it and there was some brown stuff on the soap. They also put the microwave on the bathroom counter which didn't leave any room for getting ready so I had to move it. The mini fridge was cycling all night and a bit loud. It was just sitting on the console right by the tv. Usually they are in a cabinet. There was also no dresser. They did allow dogs but we had to pay $80. extra and the "dog area" was covered in dog waste. Which may explain the flies. On the good side, the little hot spring was lovely and the view was amazing. The location is fantastic. And they did provide a coffee maker in the room. However compared to the other places we have stayed it was a bit of a disappointment.

I stayed at the outpost cabin with my family and also had my wedding reception there. It was wonderful. Expect the cabin to be a little bit on the older rustic side but just know it was extremely clean and pleasant to stay in. Was so wonderful to be right by the river for our reception and a peaceful place to sit outside for some quiet time. The front desk people were very nice as well.

We stayed one night before we took off for our trip on the middle fork salmon river. I would've stayed longer! The place was very rustic in the best way and it felt like home. There's plenty of places to eat nearby and the outdoor spaces to enjoy the mountain view are abundant.Mountain Village Resort also has their own hot spring with a tranquil view of the river running by. Picturesque and gorgeous! Schedule your slot at the hot springs during check-in. Rain or shine, day or night, it's down right healing and serene. This was the first day of our trip and I already felt myself melting into our vacation.

We backpacked 4 days in Sawtooth and staying here after getting out of the mountains was perfect. Clean rooms, hot showers, and friendly staff made the experience great. Don’t forget to sign up for the hot spring tub to top off the stay. It was a short walk and after 30 miles of hiking certainly brought us back to life. It’s the perfect Mountain Resort. Also, behind the resort, there is a field with room to kick the ball and watch the kids play while you relax with a mountain backdrop. Best place to stay in my opinion in Stanley.

The service & Hotsprings made this stop worth it. We ate at the restaurant and had burger & veggie burger. Both delicious, their fires have a tasty seasoning. Service was great. At check in & check out service was helpful & easy. Our room was a standard double Queen and could use a deep clean, maintenance and update the bedding. (Reason for lack of 5 star without I would rate our room a 3).Hotsprings we had made a 7am reservation to soak and no one else signed up, so we had it all to ourselves. Magical experience.

If you're expecting a 5 star resort in a fancy town this is not it. If you're looking for a relatively nice place to stay, in a small town, with access to everything you need for your stay then this is a great place! A friend and I made a weekend trip up. The rooms were small with only 1 sink, and tiny bathroom. While the rooms were cozy, we didn't spend much time there so it was fine. They looked to have been recently remodeled, the only thing lacking was the shower curtain. It was not long enough to keep the water in the tub so we had to use our towels to clean up the water that was all over the floor when we were done showering. The beds were soft and pillows comfortable. Great nights sleep if you love a soft bed. The staff was friendly and conversational. If your room is on the lower levels you will hear foot traffic as there is not much sound proofing between floors. Our upstairs neighbors were pretty noisy until about 10:30. I had ear plugs so it didn't bother me. If noise is a problem I recommend ear plugs or download a sound app if you need to block it out. There is a bit of a walk to the hot springs, but the view is amazing so who cares. On our last day we did find a tick in our tub but it could have been on our clothes after a hike. You are in the country so always check for ticks! We will definitely return as we enjoyed our stay.Rooms: Comfortable beds, great wifiNearby activities: Hot springs, hiking, fishingSafety: Staff was friendly and accommodating. Doors had new locks installed. Rooms felt secureWalkability: Central to everything in townFood & drinks: Food and drinks next door and all aroundNoteworthy details: The view!

Decent place to stay however don't expect a 'resort' like location. We stayed because we needed Wifi, but that didn't work & there was no sense of urgency to get it fixed (and it was never fixed!). Guess it's time for a Star Link for service --which will open up to stay almost anywhere :) . But overall, basic place to stay with BEAUTIFUL VIEWS of the Sawtooth mountains. And I can say, the restaurant has GREAT food! And last, front desk staff --very friendly as well!

Room was not updated like others apparently experienced. The bathroom tile and floor looked like something out of the 1950's. The carpet had black marks (grease or smoke burns ?).The heater did not even turn on - apparently broken. It looked as old as the bathroom. We had to ask for a space heater which is not the safest option. The restaurant next door was good. Burgers are tasty and fries are some of the best I've had.
