Super chill little store! Get all you need and more here!

Mountain Village is the place to go in Stanley if you need a grocery store. The staff has always been friendly and the store generally stays supplied with the basics. Selection is not great and the prices are inflated, but that's to be expected in a small isolated recreational town like Stanley. I've been shopping here for over 20 years and it's my go to place when I'm in pinch for food, ice, toilet paper, etc.

Arrived at the store yesterday evening, was helped by a man who was inconsiderate and inpatient and would not give me back my change. I paid him $27 dollars and my bill was $26.24. After paying him, he looked at me and said have a good day knowing that I paid him more than what I expected. Its not the fact that I wasn’t paid my .76 cents in change and his pure ignorance assuming I didn’t want my change. It was the fact that his tone of voice and the fact of his impatience he had to wait a few seconds while I counted out the money owed. I can definitely say, I won’t be back to do his lack of respect and customer service.

Stanley is a beautiful place, as we made it a destination for our road trip. After getting into town we attempted to find our campsite and learn all forest roads were closed in the area. We went to this store to grab some food, use the bathroom, and regroup. This place had a lot of signs that the bathroom and trash were only for customers. I'm not sure if they had a bad experience with travels. But the place didn't feel very welcoming to people other than locals.

This place gets crazy on holiday weekends but they always have what you need. A bit expensive, but it’s supply and demand. They have cute mugs and stickers, a good amount of grocery options including fresh produce and a fully stocked liquor area.

Stanley is an awesome place. Mountain Village has a 6 place campground, where we stayed. Full hookups and great prime rib on Fri and Sat in the restaurant.

Fully stocked with any last minute items you might need—from shampoo to snacks to a flashlight. Also conveniently serves as the only liquor store in the Sawtooth Valley.

Great beer selection! Bought a 12 pack of Payette brewing favorites on a whim and now I am so sad because they don't have any distributors on the central Oregon coast!

We have been here several times. Good selection of items to choose from. Prices are a bit higher but with the location being in consideration, it makes sense. The store in lower Stanley has competitive prices to this store that you can also consider going too.We stopped in over Memorial Weekend and our experience coming in was fine but the music they had playing was some type of rap that was decently annoying to listen too and was not family friendly. Highly unprofessional and was inconsiderate of those employees that were staffed that evening.

Mediocre selection of grocery items. TERRIBLE music playing—lots of profanity, etc. Managers/owners should choose music that is not joy offensive to families instead of whatever station they personally like.

Our car started overheating just outside Stanley. The crew at the gas station were very nice and the mechanic took time out to check the car and only charged us for some oil! We only had $5 in cash on hand to give him a tip, but we will try to do something more when we go back. The whole staff here is fantastic. Wonderful little store and gas station at the top of the world!

Cashier was simply incompetent.I was charged 21 dollars for items I didn't buy. I went back for the refund. Frist of all I didn't get an apology and what is even worse is that they again charged my credit card for 21 bucks instead of refunding it. As a European it takes a while to see the credit cards charges so I trusted them it would be okay - misplaced trust. Never buying anything ever again from them.

Went into this store to look for a few things for our cabin we rented. I get it that prices are going to be higher due to the long drive suppliers would have to make, but it is to the point of gouging the customers. A frozen Marie Calendar dinner that's $2.25 in Boise was $9.00. Most of the products either don't have a price tag or are wrong once you get to the register. Once I got to the register, barely got a grunt out of the cashier. Having a monopoly on this type of business doesn't mean you should operate like this.

I have heard the term highway robbery, I never really paid attention to that term, after visiting this store I now understand it.. 2 X 3 times the price for anything. However, they are in the middle of nowhere, and grateful I had a store to even buy from.

Truck comes on Tuesdays and Fridays. All the locals know it. Expensive produce was getting picked over. Didn't even have carrots. I felt sorry for one old cowboy shuffling around trying to find decent food.

Great food selection, and even better music while you shop around! The Merc had every supply we could need for a camping trip in the mountains/forest and we were so impressed with the beer selection - lots of local options and even some new releases. Whether you need provisions or just a road snack, make sure to stop by the Merc on your way through Stanley!

They have a $5 minimum on purchases. I had to get cash. There was no one in line behind me. The cashier was rude. Kept telling me to just give him $2 while I was looking for change. And would give me a dollar back if I find change later. Very impatient. Would rather buy from Walmart and haul food into Stanley than deal with that ever again when I would prefer to support a local business.

If you're camping in the area, you're likely to find what you need here. When I was there their meat choices were a little slim, but adequate. Everything you'd expect to find in a smallish grocery store. They seemed a bit understaffed, with fifteen shoppers waiting at the single register, but that seems par for the course these days.

Ever since their competition down the road closed, this place has enacted a policy of downright price gauging. Some examples: $28 for a flimsy phone charging cable made in china, $7 for a yogurt, and $14 for a box of tampons. The prices listed often are significantly higher at the cash register. This is the only place to shop within an hour’s drive, so make sure you stock up before you get to town.

Very friendly people trying to keep up with hoardes of tourists passing through. I want to give a shout out to their mechanics shop. The guy with the great beard and Cat Hat. I'm bad with names but he really helped me out. He has an old fashioned service ethic you don't often find anymore. Also, you can't go wrong with a guy wearing a work worn Cat hat. He can help you with a D11 to a Subaru. Good businesses hire good people. Thank you!

Where else can you jam to the Dead, while picking up ice for your cooler, chat with the locals, and catch the wildest of the western folk? Always a favorite pit stop for goodies before climbing up into the mountains. The staff is super helpful, and always friendly. 10/10.

Prices a little high, but good selection of wines; they even had Polish sausage. Thanks god they don't care about the masks, finally you can feel free... :)

Could be a really great store if they actually kept the shelves stocked and put any effort in to organizing things. Half the products have no shelf tag so you don’t know the price. The cashiers tend to be semi-friendly and not very helpful.

Awesomely rustic mountain grocery store in a super rad small town. Sure prices are a tad high and not the widest selection but they do hace what you need in case you forgot something or just needed to resupply while out exploring the beautiful wilderness surrounding Stanley.

Before visiting I wasn't sure if they would have what I needed, since many small mountain town shops have a few of the basics and mostly junk food. I was impressed to see this place has just about any last item you might need for a day on Redfish Lake or a fishing excursion in the Sawtooths. They even have some fresh produce! They are also stocked to the helm in hard-to-find coolers, fishing gear and tackle, and they even had a well needed camp blanket to keep you warm in those cool late summer evenings. Plenty of selection. Highly recommended. If you forgot to pack something or just need an ice cream bar or refreshing drink after your day... you are in luck!
