Stayed for a single night in the motel in early January and left wishing I could live there! An absolutely gorgeous location with a subtle but homey vibes. The gorgeous sawtooth mountains in the backdrop, the salmon river running just out back, and falling snow outside was very peaceful. Thankful for the local recommendations from the owner as well. Will 100% be back.

When we go to Stanley, we always stay here. It is a pet friendly motel and it has 2 queen beds, with a litlle fridge, a small stove top, coffe maker, utensils, plates and cookingware. The best part is the view. It has a shared balcony to all the units and we've never had any issues with our neighbors. It is reasonably priced and it is close to a lot of hiking trails.

This place is simply amazing. Not 5 star, $1,000 a night amazing, but a true gem in the wilderness. We had a motel room.- hot showers at the end of the day were great!- two burner stove, mid-size fridge & microwave (along with pans, dishes and utensils) made it easy to prepare meals- bed was super comfy- and the best part --> you have either a balcony or a deck that is literally 12 feet from the Salmon River- oh, and if that isn't enough for you, you have a view of the Sawtooth Mountains (with the river in the foreground).- staff were very friendly - they even stopped by to ask if we needed anything during our stay.- pet fee is quite reasonable.- WiFi speeds were crazy -- > 100 mbps download, faster than my home internet upload speed.I'm already planning a return trip!

This is our favorite place to stay in Stanley. It's not super fancy but it has some of the best views of the Sawtooths. The staff is kind and loved our dog. The older cabins and motel are great. We have had groups of friends stay all at the same time so we can grill and hang out on the river. If you can get one of their updated cabins (for when you parents come), it's a lot nicer but harder to come by.If you have a dog, you can easily walk over to Nip and Tuck Rd for a quiet stroll off leash. It's possible to walk to upper Stanley but the highway isn't very nice to walk on.I stayed here a couple times during the week and just worked from the cabin. The internet was solid enough for video calls and I spent the day between offroading and working in the motel. You have easy access to Sunbeam hot springs and a skip over to the Custer ghost town and Yankee Fork Dredge.

Spent 2 nights in one of the Motel rooms as it was a last minute trip over a long weekend & the cabins were all rented. The room was spotless, with a nicely stocked kitchen & 2 beds. We so appreciate that they accept dogs. The Salmon River is just steps from the balcony. What a gorgeous view. We definitely plan on returning. Staff were very friendly!

We really enjoyed our short stay at the Lower Stanley Cabins. We stayed in cabin #10 which I understand was recently remodeled. It was very cute, well done and very clean! Now the covered porch....you almost couldn't get me off it! The views are incredible!! Might very well be an annual trip for us. Oh, and by the way, they are very pet friendly which is very important to us.

We stayed in the duplex cabins #26 & #27, both with the upstairs sleeping area. We had a great time, location was awesome right on the river. The cabins were clean, warm and kitchen well stocked. Love that they are pet friendly & price was reasonable. Our only concern is the 'stairs' to get to the upper room are more like a cross between stairs and a ladder, they are very, very steep. Our dog fell coming down and refused to go back up. It was hard to carry luggage up. We came down them backwards, like one would on a ladder. I don't think these stairs would be good for young children or people with mobility issues. The stairs are the reason for 4, not 5 stars.

Just had a really nice 4 night stay here in Lower Stanley. The room was nice with a small kitchenette, and a nice back porch overlooking the salmon river and the Sawtooth mountain range (see picture.) The store connected to the motel has a great selection for the space - better than many much larger stores in other towns that we stayed in this trip. Service was great - room taken care of every night, unlike other lodging we had that only did it every few days. We would definitely stay here again, and Stanley is on our list of places to visit again.

We had cabin 12 at the end, on the water, 2 queen beds, with gas stove for heat, full kitchen. This was a reasonable price for a cozy (but not too small) cabin with a beautiful view and a little privacy. French double doors open onto a large deck off the river. The front desk could not have been friendlier. So helpful. We loved the birds everywhere, including watching starlings dive bomb into the rushing Salmon river. Even the flies disappeared after we showed up. We swear the birds ate them all. Yellow cardinals, blackbirds, robins and more.

This is a hidden gem! The room we had was great! Queen size bed I practically had to jump up to get in and I'm 5'9'!! Table and chairs, small fridge and bath with shower. Nice tv and electric heater. Very quaint and very comfy!! The only thing it could use is a microwave. Has a coffee machine as well, but bring cream and sugar 😉. We loved it!! Worth 90.00 and we had our dogs too! 10.00 per dog but, hey, they're part of the family!!

Our family has been staying at Lower Stanley Motel and cabins for vacations in Stanley for probably at least 30 years, back when it used to be Jerry's to present day. Love the decks on the river, beautiful and so quiet and peaceful. Friendly staff and pet friendly. Can't miss our annual trek to God's country.

Absolutely five stars. Friendly staff, helped me out in the middle of the night, were totally kind about me locking myself out of my room (my fault), and were just so accommodating in every way possible, including allowing a late checkout. Thanks so much!!!The rooms have kitchens and a balcony and are right on the beautiful Salmon river, overlooking the ragged peaks of the Sawtooth mountains.Honestly, the experience made me want to come back just to stay and chill at this hotel on that river!Word of advice, if you check in at night, you will need to yank the door hard to get in and ring the night bell; it sticks. At least when I was there! :-)

Had a great stay at these cabins! The staff is very kind and helpful. My wife got sick before a backpacking trip to the White Clouds, and they let us swap our reservation for that day instead of after the trip so she could rest. Really saved our butts. The room we stayed in the 1st night was a little older than the one we ended up staying in after the trip, but both were cozy, and I think this is probably the most affordable place in the area. Great to have a store on premises, too. Oh, and the view of the Salmon River and Sawtooths is amazing. Thanks for a great experience!

Lots of junk laying around, “cabin” was a hotel room, but smaller and in its own little house. I liked the rustic feel of the cabin though, and the heater worked great. There wasn’t a spot to hang things, but we did have Christmas lights still up on our cabin. Wifi didn’t work in our cabin, but it worked out in the truck so it had interesting coverage. It’s rustic charm was my favorite part about my stay, but there could be a lot of improvement.

We've stayed in the cabins many times over the years. The view is spectacular! Can't be beat! The linens on the bed are clean with extra blankets available. Kitchen is well stocked but no dish cloth or dish towel. Bathroom is stocked with soap and towels. Nice and quiet at night, love that! The only negative is the cabin wasn't very clean. Garbage under futon from prior guests and between fridge and counter had garbage in the 4" area.

My husband and I absolutely love staying here! We have stayed here 5 times and will never stay anywhere else when we drive through Stanley. Rates are great, dog friendly and stunning views of the Sawtooths and right on the Salmon River. The Kitchenette is so handy, although not well equipped. (I know now to bring a few extra things) The country store is next door for forgotten items and foods. Its the just the coziest, very simple mountain motel and feels like home every time.

Very friendly people. Surprisingly solid supply of hardware and supplies for a tiny little town. They have put some thought into what they pack into their small space. Also I found them well stocked. Considering the hoardes of people descending on their town they are doing a great job.

Awesome place, beautiful scenic views and wonderfully stocked and readied cabins. Enjoyed my short stay here and would definitely recommend for the views, location and lovely people. Best prices in town for the best view ! No complaints about the prices - especially until you look at the other places of accommodation in and around Stanley, you wouldn’t realize how good a deal this is.

Love this little store! It has cheaper prices than the other general stores in Stanley. This store has assorted tools, camping supplies, BBQ supplies along with fresh foods, clothing and children's toys. We bought very fresh fruits, meats, ice, tylenol and a Stanley ceramic cup souvenir.

This spot was a FINE FIND. We got a little cabin on the river with a porch close enough to toss our empty beer bottles into - jk! It is less than a mile out of Stanley, but it had available rooms - not one of the 5 we called in Stanley had any. AND it was considerably less expensive. Wonderful family owned & managed. They were personable & courteous.

Best location in/near Stanley! The balcony out back on the river overlooking the breathtaking Sawtooth Range is unmatched. Pair that with being off the highway so there's no road noise and each room having a full kitchen with pots, pans, plates, bowls, and utensils to boot, makes staying here a no brainer. My only complaint is that the beds are not very comfortable. Get some better beds and this place will be near impossible to beat.

Staff was friendly and cabins were clean. Beds are not the most comfy but overall the cabins are cozy and well equipped. The perfect base camp for our trip to Stanley!
