The tasting menu is a formal event where Chef Alex serves a predetermined menu of several courses and dessert for a set price of $130 (before tax and tip). Drinks were not included, but wine and beer were available for purchase. The courses were interesting and beautifully presented. The dinner lasted 3 hours. With each course, Alex explained what he had prepared and how each dish was cooked. The appetizers were fabulous. Everyone at our table loved the scallops, goat cheese soufflé, and cherry tomato soup. Our opinions became mixed with the third course. The salmon cake was a little dry for a few of us, and the meat dishes were cold when they were served. The plates were not warmed. For this type of event and the price, I would have expected the food to be delivered hot. Both the duck and lamb in addition to being cold were tough but presented well. For this event, complete strangers will be seated together. Luckily for us, our tablemates were interesting and entertaining. Overall, I enjoyed the event and service was excellent, but going forward, I'd rather spend the money on a romantic dinner with only my husband at a high-end restaurant ordering just a few dishes.

Fantastic breakfast with a cozy, warm and homey environment. Omelette was buttery and full of flavor. Two eggs and sausage with home fries more than satisfying and avocado toast was fresh and delicious. Try the biscuits with huckleberry jam and you'll need another right away. Can't wait to come back and try lunch or dinner.

A local hangout for good food and light groceries. Service was excellent. Lots of items on the menu. The cheeseburger wasn't overcooked, was juicy and delicious. The fries and sweet potato fries were both crispy and good. Fun place to visit!

Phenomenal sandwiches! We enjoyed the Prime Rib Special, Chicken Club on Sourdough, and Fish tacos. The Club sandwich had Granny Smith apples nestled in melted cheese, mmm! My husband didn’t even want to share the prime rib sandwich because he liked it so much! (I still managed to get a bite). Would order all of it again and so glad to have discovered this charming spot!! Simple, relaxed, down home vibe yet some seriously up-scale tasting food. I love being able to find that combo. Friendly staff, and some great options for sale like beer, wine, soaps, shirts, Mac n cheese, casseroles, and desserts. My only critique would be to steer clear of the machine lattes, just stick with black coffee and get your espresso at a coffee shop. Did not detract from a fantastic lunch though!

Absolutely delicious brunch! It’s small, and popular (for good reason), so expect a wait. Staff are friendly and will do their best to get you seated right away. I love that they use local sourdough for the avocado toast, yum.

I could swear the eggs are not real but perhaps powdered. The weirdest texture ever today and the sweet potatoes were perhaps frozen and thrown in water and served soggy and barely warm. No crisp or crunch. Waitress made it right by brining reg potatoes but the whole breakfast was one of worst I have had and the cost $29 plus tip. Evan’s brothers coffee was good. Sorry! Wish I had a better review.

Great food and service. We ate breakfast by the river which was awesome. The portions are huge! A pancake = a whole plate and my 3 egg omelette looked suspiciously like a 6 egg omelette.

I've been eating here for 18 years when it was more of a general store that you could get a bite at, rather than the amazing restaurant that it is now. Top notch food out of the most unlikely place. If you give this place one star, you are just a miserable person who can't be satisfied and you should just go somewhere else anyway. Love the food, vibe, and atmosphere!

We were encouraged not to eat outside, then not to eat at all around 2PM, do to wasp. However, we did order, our food was brought out to us in to-go styrofoam containers. Regardless, the food was pretty good, they may have been short staffed and frustrated on the day of our visit, it is a nice location, service lacked. We didn't notice any wasp around.

This probably is a better place than I experienced today. I asked for Lemons for my water 3 times. It took about 20 minutes to get Lemons for my water. I had to go to the counter to ask again. The waitress remembered just before we were finished eating. The fish & chips- not so good. Tartar sauce was delicious but I couldn't get a lid to take it home with me. The sandwiches and fries were good, but pricey.

Possibly the best breakfasts in the Panhandle!Alex is a true chef. As a wine aficionado, he has collected an impressive list of wines for sale, and foods that accompany those wines. There's a small restaurant, obviously, but as a community hub, the bulletin board is always full of local info; the gas pump in front is operating for those who need a couple gallons to get into town or mix fuel for the chainsaw; the laundromat in the adjacent building serves as a Godsend when the washer or dryer is out at home; Also for sale are snacks and a small selection of pantry items so locals don't need to drive all the way into town if they need some eggs or something; Possibly the most unique thing The Pack River Store provides are floating items (ie kayaks, tubes, etc) in the summer so customers can float down the Pack River. The Pack River Store is not just a convenience store or restaurant; it's an important community hub for the people of the Pack River Valley. And you will be amazed at how good the food is. This is truly a secret backwoods treasure that visitors to the area will not regret visiting!

Great food (cafe and to-go) & awesome alcohol selection. Laundry room ($2+ per load), showers ($3 per person), bags of ice, snacks, coffee, candy, and freshly baked goods. Plus they sell GAS!

Quality ingredients and great menu! It’s out of the way but that doesn’t stop most people from coming out. The burger was just right. Also they have an amazing eggs bene.

I’ve never fell in love with a restaurant as quickly as I did this one. It’s a hidden gem on the peaceful pack river with the MOST AMAZING food in all of the greater Sandpoint area. The pancakes are PHENOMENAL- they somehow taste like cake yet are your classic fluffy delicious pancake. The eggs Benedict is utterly delicious and unique. Everything I’ve had here so far has been 10/10 and the fries… oh don’t even get me started. I will go here just for fries and only fries. And the people are so kind!!! Love this place!

PRS was recommended to us from a local and we are so glad that we stopped in. Best Patty Melt I have ever had. The onion rings we light and crispy. We also ordered a hamburger with bacon and a fried egg and a side of french fries. All great! We chose to dine at one of the picnic tables under the trees next to the river and watch the kayakers and eagles will we enjoyed Northern Idaho.

This place was highly recommended, so I drove 22 miles to eat here. When we arrived we realized it was a gas station diner. There was barely any parking, so I had to park at the far end of the lot. When we entered the building we were greeted at the register and told to seat ourselves. We sat down and were given menu's, the employee that sat us was kind. However, after minutes of waiting- our waitress brings out our waters. We thank her for the water and she ignores us. She immediately starts cleaning the table next to us and then without looking at us says in a condescending tone, "By the way, outside drinks are not allowed in the restaurant. I am going to charge you for a large soda unless you bring it outside." My friend and are were stunned because we didn't think much about her half drank energy drink on the table. We decided to leave after this because her comment completely killed the vibe of the restaurant. If she had been kind about the drink, we would have stayed. It's too bad because the menu looked good.

Every year we go several times and it’s one of the best breakfast places I’ve ever been. The scrambles, biscuits and gravy, really anything on the menu is SO good! Jam on a fresh biscuit—yum with some local Evan’s Brothers Coffee. Hidden gem.

Popular breakfast place for locals up off of Rapid Lightning, so be there before 0900 on weekends if you don't want to wait. They use individual tables for seating, and seating for larger groups seemed fairly easy. A group of 8 came in while we were eating, so the staff just strung some extra tables together. Coffee is self-serve, but they leave carafes of water at your table too.My partner Messy Jessy said the French toast was some of the best she's ever had. She said 4-5 stars.I had their version of the huevos rancheros. It was okay, by NOT the area's BBIT. I said 3-4 stars. We split the difference.

PRS is usually pretty good but my visit today was very disappointing. I got a Reuben with onion rings. The onion rings were burnt to a crisp and the Reuben was really bad. I’ve never seen grey pastrami in my life. It looked microwaved. It also took over an hour for the food to come out of the kitchen. All that for $19? No thanks.

We had a life up on Flume Creek rd for 5 years recently and the Pack River Store was our closest go-to. I still think their fried chicken was the best I’ve ever had. This place is a treasure.

Great food, outdoor eating was so peaceful with the river and trees. Nice place to grab a snack too if you’re not in the mood to eat a meal. Pretty neat how it was an old gas station turned into a restaurant.
