I gave it a 5 because finding a good malt shake isn't easy, but every year when I visit Salmon or just drive through, I can count on a really good malt for a really good price. I visited Yellowstone Natl Park twice this summer and had malts almost every day and they cost almost twice as much! But weren't twice as tasty as the malts at the Savage Grill so I left the difference in price as a tip since the servers were friendly. I had the special of the day which was a S'Mores. I asked for extra malt- not a problem either. And it was SO nicely decorated! I don't care what some might think, but presentation that looks good and is really tasty is a slam dunk for me. The Graham crackers were fresh, the Sizable chocolate shavings tasted good, too, especially smothered in all that whipped cream. Highly recommend especially since there are so Many flavors to choose from. I'm thinking on the way back home at the end of the week I might experiment and try a coconut raspberry malted shake! Oh and hubby ordered the family size fries- seasoned perfectly and a generous portion. And Real nice balance of enough potato in those fries, too, compared to too thin fries. Great late afternoon 'snack' break on our road trip south.

The experience you'll get at savage grill is is all but average. Unique to its own style it keeps the mystique going for a little while. They don't march to the beat of their own drumb they are their own drumb that everyone marches to. They killed it on my Kyler wrap once again better every time I order it. Not to mention they've always got the best shakes in town. Don't rely on my words of praise though cause if they become to well known I'll have to wait longer for my food since everyone won't stop coming back for more.

We've been here for 3 weeks and we leave on Monday. Such a shame we didn't find this fantastic restaurant sooner. As my husband and I were finishing and after the lunch rush ended, an employee was sweeping up. My husband said how much we liked the place and how good the food was. We talked with her a while and it comes out that she's the owner. The reason why I bring that up is, because I don't see owners sweeping the floors. I believe her name is Christy (I hope I remembered right). We will be going there at least one more time, before Monday. Whatever you do when you go to Salmon Idaho, don't miss out on the best hamburger, oh and fried pickles and tator tots. Love the place, love the food and we think Christy was Great!!!!!!

*UPDATE*After I posted the review, management reached out making it clear that they will be addressing the negative behavior. I really appreciate their quick response and acknowledgment of our experience. We will give this place another shot when we make it back to Salmon.We went in with a large group of kids after our last hockey game tonight. The gal and boys working with her were actually great with the chaos, until the end. It is hard to take a large group out and equally hard to serve that large group, which is why each one of us parents left a tip for them. However, as we were leaving two girls (who I don’t think were working, but talking to some of the kids who were since they hadn’t been there the whole time) VERY loudly proclaimed how much they hate children and hate having to serve them, to which one of the back kitchen workers agreed whole heartedly, again very loudly. It was tempting to take every single tip back and explain to them exactly why. Thats not great customer service and will not get you very far in ANY industry.I was seriously so impressed with the way the staff handled our large group, but their friends ruined what could have been an excellent meal in a world that’s increasingly anti-children.

Freshly cooked food! Which takes a lil'bit of time, but worth it. Simple place. Many sauces are available. They just sit counter side, and if you want to make a to-go cup you can!Friendly counter staff.We eat here, nearly every time we are in town.Kid had a 1/4 # burger with cheese. And he asked me, "This is a 1/4#er?!? It's huge!". And I had the steak fries, they were great! Tender!!

I'm from Denver and I loved the Savage Grill!! One of the highlights of my trip. Great food, people, and atmosphere. Can't wait to visit Salmon again . I love this restaurant. Can't say enough good things about it. I visit Salmon a few times a month for work and the Savage Grill was highly recommended to me by a local customer so thought I would give it a shot and I'm so glad I did! I ordered a 1/4 lb burger with tater tots and a chocolate malt. The burger was pretty good, seasoned well, tasted fresh, and was not overcooked (7/10). Tater tots were great, perfect amount of salt and cooked golden brown (7/10). The star of the show was the chocolate malt (10/10). Most places hardly put any malt in thier shakes but not here. That was probably the best chocolate malt shake I have ever had! I will definitely go here in the future and would recommend giving it a try next time your in the area.

Wow!!! Best burger place I’ve had in a long, long time. This is why road-tripping is the best. We Had the BLT and a double with bacon and egg. Tots and fries are equally amazing. Burger meat is seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. This is a must stop if you’re coming through.

I visit Savage Grill frequently and usually just order takeout so my observations are limited in this way.Walking in, the atmosphere was positive and calm with 2-3 tables filled with dine-in customers. I mentioned my name for takeout and was informed it was not complete and would be a few minutes. I paid, making note that during my call order, I was given a 15 minute timeframe and about that much time had passed. After sitting down at a tall, empty table with a newspaper for about 5-7 minutes, my food was brought to me and I thanked the young woman who also ran the register. I finished reading the front page of the newspaper, put it back on the wall rack and proceeded to my vehicle.There wasn't anything that stood out to me as out of the ordinary; operating as usual.

Stopped in after hiking for the day. The food was fresh (made to order) and delicious! I thought the portions were excellent and the prices were very reasonable and fair. My burger was cooked just right and the fries were really tasty too. Will definitely eat there again and will tell my friends. Thanks for the yummy meal after a long day!

We showed up for lunch about 5 minutes after they opened and found a line of people waiting to order. The Savage Grill has a large menu that is guaranteed to contain a new favorite of yours. We had Savage Burgers with garlic fries. Absolutely delicious. Yes, we had to wait a bit to order and get our food; but it was worth the wait. Excellent value. Don’t listen to some of the “woke” reviews, this food is savagely delicious and you won’t be disappointed.

Good choice for burgers. The meat used for our burgers was super good. With the size of the meat, they could use bigger buns though. The fries and shakes were really good as well.The only complaint we had was the amount of mustard on ALL of our burgers. Way too much! Definitely ask for light mustard unless you really really like mustard.

We finally found a place to eat that was open. And we were glad we did! I got the Savage burger which was big in itself with 1/4 pound fresh hamburger. The big guy got the Warrior burger, a full pound of meat. (I'm glad he didn't eat the entire thing) Fries were also delicious, dont know if they were fresh or frozen but who cares when the food is that good! So glad we stumbled upon this place. Everyone friendly. The best!
