Needs updated. Water damage in the bathroom. We tried to give this place a chance but ended up grabbing our stuff and leaving. Didn't even stay the night. We walked in, used the restroom and bugs were crawling on the towels... we killed the 2-3 we saw. Came back from dinner and same type of bugs crawling on the ceiling. 🤢 Not a lot of space for parking.*yes, I asked if we could have dogs and you said yes, but only certain rooms because some people have allergies. No one ever mentioned an extra charge for them. AND you knew we had 2 kids. You even called me to verify all my info, including my card number because you wrote it down wrong.

This motel is a gem. My wife and I were very pleased to be referred to the Salmon River Motel by a local resident whom we met while hiking in the area. Our room was very clean and offered a fridge, an air conditioner, a clean and comfortable bed, a great shower, strong Wi-Fi and a microwave at an exceedingly affordable rate. There’s also a laundry on the premises. We enjoyed meeting Jerry and Sharon who were warm and inviting. We wished we had been able to stay longer in such an interesting area, but if we return, we will certainly stay at this motel.

Very, VERY nice owners and staff (Thank you, Tom!). Rooms are simple, clean and just what you need for one night or multiple nights. Affordable rates, good view, large laundry area on site. Restaurant, gas, and grocery stores within walking distance. We were weary travelers and finding a room here was a blessing. I’ve been meaning to write this review for a couple months now, I have nothing but great things to say. 100% recommend!

So I liked this place and the owners and their dog were great and helpful. However I had no phone service in Riggins and their wifi just would not work at all. Kind of pricey for what it was, the shower had one setting: pressure washer lol. And the toilet didn't work right. BUT they were really nice and a great place for a last minute stay.

4 stars only because the new owners of 2 weeks were still working on upgrading their dated things in the rooms.But outside that, this is a 5 star rating for me for how the owners treated you, and the rooms were clean and they were the only ones around that did not price gouge us from the tourist, weekend crowd.Sharon and Jerry, Thank you for accomodating my sister and me that late Thursday night, when we were desperately trying to find an affordable room for 2 senior aged women tired from the longer than planned journey of just trying to find a sleeping place that was not price gorging from the increased early travel weekend warriors.Next time I am sure it will be a 5☆ rating when they upgrade the rest of their planned improvements...Rosco, the pet dog is very friendly and welcomes everyone with a happy tail wagging.I will go back again so thank you for being the biggest blessing of our day.The only negative would be is, it is an old established motel,so sound proof rooms they are not.

Great place! Every person I spoke with on the phone was very kind and usually had a good sense of humor. They were able to recommend where to find stuff locally and since it's a small town, everyone knows everyone. The rooms were clean, smoke-free, and you park your vehicle directly in front of the door (parallel to the building) so it's a 3-foot trip from the back of your car to the room's front door. Slightly further if someone accidentally parks in front of your door... Overall, highly recommended!

5 stars isn't enough! I'd give them 10 stars if I could. Tom and Vicky are wonderful and made me feel like I was staying in a family members guest room. The room was clean and the beds were nice and soft, just how I like them. Too top it all off, I had a problem getting an animal out of a remote location while hunting. Without knowing me from anyone, Tom let me use his personal equipment to make the job 10x easier. I can't say enough nice things about them. I'm staying at the salmon river motel every time I go to riggins!

We loved our stay. They accommodated us even when we wouldn't be arriving till 4am. They had everything we needed and were very kind. Though we only stayed overnight, the rooms were very warm and comfortable. Great TV as well!! I wouldn't mind staying there for a weeks vacation!

I reserved a room, they took all my information, even debit card info and said the room was mine, even said there were extra rooms and not to worry (because all other motels in riggins were booked). Then I get a text message a month out from my stay saying that my room is taken and I've got to find somewhere else to stay..... and I'm the only one this happened to..... very unprofessional. Didn't even sound like they knew what was going on through the whole process, the lady sounded very confused.

Basic, comfortable room with a decent bed, nice bathroom and shower stall, mini-fridge,, microwave and coffee pot. Hair dryer was provided when requested. There were two detectors on the ceiling - one yellowed smoke detector and a newer white carbon monoxide detector(?) that had no name or markings. This detector started chirping around 11pm. We removed the 3 AAA batteries, let it sit for a bit and re-installed them. The chirping started again. Not able to sleep, we called the front desk at 11:30pm and left a message. A lady called back 5 minutes later and told my husband to remove the batteries, there was no smoke, and that they were in bed. Because of this, we slept with the window ajar, which turned out not to be ideal due to traffic and proximity to the highway.... but was better than the alternative. At the time we left the next morning (approx. 10am), nobody had come to fix the detector.

This place was great! They were affordable and clean. Big room for us and 2 dogs. Friendly staff. I left my cowboy boots there and they went out of their way to mail them to me. Will most definitely stay there again when in the beautiful town of Riggins.

We stayed here overnight while on a work trip. We found it to be clean, a bit rustic, but that's fine by us. I only gave 3 stars due to a couple things. First it's right off the highway so traffic noise may be a concern if you're a light sleeper. Second was the shower head. I realize I'm a bit spoiled to my rain shower head at home, but this shower was just not great for me. It was more like a high powered mist sort of thing. Gets the job done I suppose but not for me.

I go here for laundry and it's cheap and the clothes always come out clean. As an Idaho licensed guide I always recommend our clients stay here if they are looking for reasonable rates. If you're willing to pay through the nose and sleep on super firm beds there are other options in town. Free WiFi!

Came in to steelhead fish. Tom was super friendly and fun. When I let them know I had my jet boat they went more than above and beyond to help me get it parked. Our room smelled like nothing (which a hotel room should). They have a funny giant, clean, commercial ice maker and are conveniently located right next to a nice restaurant and convenience store. Thank you so much!

It's an interesting small hotel. It's not too bad, feels older and more outdated, but overall pretty clean and good enough for just a 1 night stop over. It's well placed along the river, and close to downtown.

The Salmon River Motel is an interesting place...As is riggins overall. It's an old motel but it gets the job done. It's not super clean but it's not bad. Old rooms but beds seem clean. There is a microwave, fridge and Dish TV in the room which is nice. Book direct not online - it's cheaper. The wifi sucks and there's no TMobile service in town.

So if you're on a long road trip going north to south or south to North in the wonderful state of Idaho, sometimes you don't have a lot of lodging options. This is a No Frills no over-promising kind of stop, however make sure you bring your own snacks and drinks because you're going to have to walk about a mile to buy any. Riggins doesn't have a lot to offer in terms of accommodations so even though this place only gets a three-star, I would most likely stay there again in the future.
