Salmon Rapids Lodge provided my partner and I with a cozy, comfortable place to land after attending a family funeral. We were impressed by the kind and respectful staff, who attended to our needs with care. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the only issue we experienced was difficulty regulating the temperature - a minimal issue in the grand scheme. And the view! Incredible and beautiful, with a lobby overlooking the rapids. Overall, our stay was enjoyable, even under the circumstances of our visit. We highly recommend Salmon Rapids Lodge, and will be coming back if we find ourselves in Riggins again.Rooms: Clean and comfortable, well-kept space.Walkability: Right off the main drag in Riggins, easy, walkable access to local restaurants and stores.

The hotel is a great looking mountain lodge style and sits right on the Salmon River at a creek confluence. Location, appearance, room appearance and amenities and pricing, four stars. A bit of a bummer was no Continental breakfast (maybe because it was off season?) and sorry for the ding since I love the people that work there, but their mattresses are not good. Seriously remind me of a baby crib mattress. Went to bed feeling great and woke up with a back ache. I'm not going to knock the score down, because maybe I just got a bum one, but if they want feedback there you go. Better mattresses! ;)

The location was perfect for our rafting trip. The rooms were clean and the staff were pretty good. The only complaint is when my mom asked were the best place was to put the roll out bed. When mom walked away, one of the staff said “I don't care where she puts the f@$& bed" to another staff member. If we do another rafting trip we would use the hotel again for the convenience.

This place has suffered several years of poor service. I met the newly appointed manager in Oct 23, I am pleased to say she pleasant to talk with and interested in providing a pleasant experience. Available employees is a huge challenge to operating hours. The Pool is to chemically hot and the walls need dusted. Beautiful views!!Food & drinks: Go to the Cattlemans for Breakfast and say Hi to Kate.

We stayed here July 2023 while going on a jet boat trip up the Salmon. Our room was lovely and very clean - a sitting room and a bedroom divided by a half wall. The heated indoor pool was delightful. We had a river view room which included a view of the remnants of the historic Riggins Lumber Mill that burned in 1982 that we found interesting. Staff members we encountered were pleasant.Nearby activities: Riggins is known for its fishing, river rafting and jet boat rides. We had a fabulous steak at Seven Devils Restaurant/Bar.

What an amazing lodge this is! We came up on the off season and had the hotel to ourselves! Nice and quiet! The pool was a great 87 degrees! So great swimming! The view out the back is to die for! The balconies are a great bonus! It’s so cozy in so many ways! We will definitely be back in the spring!

I've been staying here for years. The lobby and setting are beautiful. Although I was the ONLY person staying at the hotel the night I checked in they put me in a marginal room as far from the lobby as they could with no view of the main Salmon. The room was also right next to the pool where maintenance was going on throughout the first two days of my stay as they were working on it to open it for the season. There was one thin blanket on the bed and only slightly warm water in the shower that lost almost all water pressure within a few minutes. When I told the manager about the shower and lack of blankets she was very unfriendly, denied that there was any problem and argued with me. I looked at the reviews after my stay as I was curious how such a nice place could now be so uninviting and wondered if others had a similar experience. I noticed that the hotel replies are mainly blaming the customer for any problems they had during their stay. It is too bad that the management and customer relations of one person can be the downfall of such a lovely hotel.

I stayed here once during a work trip about four years ago and just spent two nights here while traveling for the same job.My room was relatively comfortable and I we appropriately clean. Water pressure was a bit lacking but sufficient for a shower. The views from any floor facing the river are spectacular; the place is peaceful and refreshing.I found the staff courteous and professional. One specific positive note was the prices for snacks etc. Instead of being outrageously exorbitant “convenience” prices, items were priced much closer to fair (in my opinion). They also carry a local (state) beer brand (Sockeye) and a few other random brands.I hope to one day bring my wife up here.

2019: The clerk seemed a bit confused, but the rooms seemed clean enough and I survived the night. Probably one of the better places to stay in the area.Update 2022: it is still a good place to stay. Rates are reasonable enough. They have a pool. Some rooms have a nice view. It isn't my first choice, but they are open later at night than the motels and will save you in a pinch and a snow storm. The clerk this time knew her stuff and got everything set up no problem. The continental breakfast has not been brought back as of November of 2022, but there are a lot of neat little diners and dives in the area to explore.Nearby activities: The Little Salmon River is right there. Gorgeous scenery, a gob of history in the area. Jet boat tours... fishing charters.... great hunting opportunities... take your pick.Safety: Key card access, dead bolt and door sliders. Very secure rooms. They also monitor the vehicles in the parking lot.Walkability: Riggins is fairly small. There are several places to eat within walking distance. One of those places has the best steak in the state.Food & drinks: Mini convenience store at the entry. They have drinks and stuff there.

We stayed for two nights for our 40th anniversary. We had 13 family members join us, so we had 6 rooms. All the rooms were so nice, the beds were comfortable, the whole resort is beautiful. Tiffany was the staff member we worked with to book the rooms and she was there for both days of our stay. She bent over backward to make sure our stay was perfect, she was very helpful and extremely friendly and kind. She is wonderful, all the staff is very friendly We have stayed there several times, but it was the first time for our family. They all want to come back again, they enjoyed themselves so much and loved the Lodge and the friendly staff. We will definitely stay many more times! Thank you, Tiffany, Angie, Steph, Savanah, Jen, Shelby and Damon

All of the employees there were very kind and helpful. The bathroom could have been cleaner though, I spoke with them about it and it seems like they are very under staffed. The view from out balcony was gorgeous overlooking the river. We will stay here again.

It was a long day of driving. My mother and I had decided we wanted a mini vacation and to get out of the house after my father had passed away a couple of months back, and this place had great reviews. So we booked a riverside room for a weekend, and directly asked the staff during the booking if we could get a second story balcony and they said it was not a problem.Skip to the day we arrive. It’s been 10+ hours of driving through construction work, terrible drivers, so on. We arrive and first of all, nobody is at the desk and I can hear someone laughing from the kitchen in the other side of the lobby. Who comes out, is the manager on shift, still laughing. I wouldn’t mind normally, but looking back, how incredibly unprofessional that is. We go on, and ask about the room we requested- a second story balcony room with the river. Mind you, we paid extra to have the riverside view. We booked this a week or so in advance. We were not informed of a large group booking placed “a year ago” where most rooms would be taken, including the second story. We were almost annoyed hearing that no second story river views were available but we didn’t want to argue. We just took the keys and went with it.We got into our room and immediately I was displeased. The so called riverside view room we paid an extra 40+ bucks for is a view of bushes, there are spider webs all over the outside of the balcony, and it felt overwhelmingly lacking overall. We go back out to ask the manager running the hotel at check in about the room, about why we paid extra for a room that was not as advertised, and she said she couldn’t do anything about it, as most rooms were booked. I asked at least could we get a refund if we weren’t getting promised amenities, and she said we have to wait until the owner arrives in the morning tomorrow because even if she’s a manager she won’t do it.So this nice room we paid for has half the size of everything we thought we were getting, the view promised is literally nothing and now I’m worried about spider bites. And the fact that the on shift manager was unable to do anything to accommodate us for the fact we were not getting the room promised? Terrible service, and not a hygenic place to stay in either. I’d find somewhere else along the river if you don’t want to be gipped.

Came in late and got checked in by a friendly front desk gal. Room was just fine and had a great view of the river. Breakfast was good and so was the staff running it. I would stay here again and would recommend staying to anyone that asked.

Unattentive. I as a business owner made reservations 24 hrs in advance. They asked if it was for a corporation. I said yes gave cc and info to pay for the rooms. My flagger's showed up to check into the prepaid rooms and we're not allowed in. I got a call and they needed pictures of my ID and CC and for me to print out a paper and sign it while I'm driving and don't have the ability to. That would have been fine to tell me yesterday but after everything was paid for over the phone and they denied my employees who had been in the sun over 12 hours is just unacceptable. Thank goodness salmon river inn was accommodating.

The beds were comfy the pillows or not. Apparently they have a no-pet in the dining room rule, but they didn't say anything about it until after we were done eating, and the pet was in the dining room. Staff were at the desk when we took the pet in the dining room. We were in the eating area for at least 20 minutes. And then they had a cow after we ate and we're walking toward the room. If they were seriously interested in what the health department says, they would have had a sign. There was a nice little balcony off the room, it was on the Salmon River. $137 for us and $25 for the dog. Was pricey for the dog. Their breakfast was the same breakfast at every other Hotel gives. For a place that's nice it should have been a better breakfast. Would I go back and stay there again on purpose? No.

My wife took her Dad for a “memory lane” trip through Idaho this week. First issue: When they arrived she asked if she could have one of the river view rooms and they said “no they are not clean”.. second issue: Her dad has severe case of Parkinson’s disease. When she called to reserve the rooms a few days earlier She requested that her father get a room setup for handicap as he is very physically disabled. She discovered the next morning that They did not give her Dad a handicap-friendly room. She mentioned this at checkout at they responded “when people ask for a handicap room they usually mean they just want a room on the first floor”. No other apologies or anything… WOW… get a grip or get out of the business!!! My wife did note that her parking lot view room was very clean which is why I give them a two a tar instead of a one….

Our family stayed at Salmon Rapids last weekend for a Steelhead fishing trip. We make this trip at least once a year and always bring friends and family and have always stayed at SR. This will be our last time staying here. We were notified when we booked that certain amenities would not be available and masks would be required in public areas. We were disappointed that breakfast would not be made available in any capacity - no grab and go - nothing but completely understood the need for wearing masks. The hot tub being closed was not due to Covid but was just out of order (for the second year). We thought that the hotel and staff went out of their way to be unaccommodating like we were actually unwelcome there. We brought our own breakfast which we discovered at the last minute that we forgot to bring our own forks. When we approached a staff member to ask if there were any plastic utensils available, we were told that there were not. We had to then drive to a convenience store for forks. While we understand housekeeping would not be available, we stayed multiple nights and had overflowing garbage cans and not enough towels - not ideal. The room was lacking any of the usual complimentary items - travel lotion and even the Kleenex dispenser was empty. The last straw was a few minutes before checkout on our departure day, the in room phone rang. Upon answering I was basically attacked by the hotel staff member saying that checkout was at 11 and they were closing and we needed to exit the building before they locked the doors. Basically - GET OUT NOW! We have never felt so unwelcome when staying at a hotel. We understand that staying anywhere now with following Covid guidelines can be weird but we felt that Salmon Rapids staff took it to the extreme.

Very clean. Great view. The clerk did tell us as soon as we checked in that they were short staffed so no pool and no breakfast. But our stay was wonderful.

First room we had, the tub wouldn't drain. We talked with them about it, they were good about giving us another room. Online it says they have a hot tub. Well they do, it's just broken. The website doesn't say anything and the employees don't really care that the guests feel cheated. Don't try and cancel cause there is a cancelation fee. So here we are on a rainy day vacation, without a hot tub. Maybe we should have asked if the hot tub was working before booking the room. Do we have to ask if the roof leaks? Some things should be assumed if they advertise it online.
