Scotty's was one of my favorite stores. It was so convenient and great to go to. I always felt the prices were very reasonable. I really loved the staff, they were always very friendly and extremely helpful. The store was really fun to go to, you could find whatever you need there and I loved to buy plants. The selection was great and the prices were awesome compared to nurseries. It was one of my favorite things! But it has changed drastically after being sold, sadly. The biggest thing is the staff. What happened?!

Please read the reviews carefully. This store recently changed ownership, moving from Scotty's True Value to Ace Hardware. The good reviews are referencing Scotty's, the bad reviews are referencing the new Ace.I will follow suit by saying, when this store was Scotty's, every single person working there was happy to be there (seemingly), friendly and knowledgeable. You could walk up to any random employee and ask for a gallon of paint in a specific color and sheen and if they couldn't mix it themselves they would get someone who could. They really went all out to satisfy.And then Ace came along.Generally speaking, I like Ace stores. But this store in Rigby is horrible. Since they became Ace, I have been in 3 times. On one visit, it seemed there was 1 person at the checkout and 1 person manning the auto parts area. The other employees were all standing around a new baby that someone had brought in, basically ignoring all the customers.All 3 times, the cashier has been incredibly rude and condescending. This most recent time, I needed a handful of bolts, nuts and washers, about 8 each of 3 different sizes. It took me 45 minutes to find what I needed. They have bags that you can put your small quantities in, but there are no pens to write down skew numbers or anything, so I took photos of the barcodes, items numbers and price and went to the register.The woman at the register was really put out. I was ready to tell her exactly what I had, but she insisted on dumping everything out of the tag, individually counting, and then trying to guess in her computer how much to charge me. I told her several times I had photos so she didn't have to do that, but she ignored me entirely. The tipping point on this trip was her telling me that this would have been easier if I had written the prices on the bag, immediately followed by her trying to tell me that one particular bolt was sold by the pound and she had to weigh it! Nothing I had was sold by the pound, and I had individual skews for each item.I always prefer to shop local, but this place is a dumpster fire. Couple the service frustrations with the fact that they are doing a major remodel while staying open, and the issue is compounded that much more.I won't be back, and I will tell everyone I know not to go to this location. I much prefer driving 15 more miles into Idaho Falls to go to Lowe's or another local hardware store there.

Scotty's was AWESOME!! Terrific service, attention to detail, friendly people. Since Ace took over.....total suckage. I have gone there multiple times to get feed and so far, under Ace...I haven't received the correct bag of anything yet.

Prices seem a bit higher than others in the region. About half the staff seemed friendly and helpful, the rest didn't seem to want to do anything more than they had to and were far from friendly or helpful.

Worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. employee questioned me as to why I was looking for rivets in the hardware section. “Rivets are tools”, Then guided me to the drill bits. Pointed at a drill bit and said “here you go”.Then proceed to down talk me for not understanding the new store layout. Save your self the pain and drive to Rexburgs ace hardware. Where the rivets are between the tools and hardware

My old review was 4 stars. Now 2 stars. Over all vib of the store has changed since new owners have taken over for the negative. Floor services is hard to find and there not as up bet as under old store owners. Plus I went in to get some grommet screws 9/1/ 2023 ( Didn't want to go clear to I.F. for just a few screws.) I only used half of them for my project so I took the other half back 9/ 16/ 2023 figuring I'd get about half of the 5.99+ tax I had spent. Gave cashier the receipt from the sale. She weighed them and said I'd get a dollar back. I said I only used half of the screws! And she said that is what the scale is telling me. I said keep them. And I turned on my heel and walked out of the store vowing I'd never go back to that store again!I'll drive from Rigby to I.F. to Home Depot or Lowe's from now on even if gas got to $10.00 a gallon!!!UP DATE: Storeis improving slowly am rising my star count to 3 now hopefully soon I'll be able to erase most of the above post.

Same great local store with tons of options for diy, home, auto, garden and repair. Also farm and ranch equipment and supplies. Pet friendly. My dog loves coming here. (Leash of course)Friendly and professional.Slightly unusual layout and slightly higher cost then Rexburg or Idaho Falls but beats the cost of gas sometimes and the staff are almost always amazing so I recommend visiting and seeing if you like.

I can't say enough good about Scotty's. The staff are always helpful, knowledgeable and personable. The manager, Shawn, is on top of it! I think there has only been one time they didn't have what I needed. And, I appreciate that they offer a military discount!

Dan, the store manager, is an incredibly selfless and helpful man. A few weeks ago I went in to find a screw to fix the trunk latch on my car and he and his team not only helped me find the screw but also helped me replace it when I needed help. He was so nice and helped me when I had no one to do so. He deserves to be recognized and I hope the store owner knows how lucky they are to have such a person representing their store. Dan exemplifies small town values and going the extra mile for sure!! Thanks Dan!!

Small town "we got everything" store with some really helpful people. Been going for 5 years with carpentry, plumbing, yard, animal... all sorts of projects and issues. I always check there first before driving to the bigger neighboring towns/stores.

We bought a Christmas tree from them and for whatever reason it started to dry out within a couple of weeks. I contacted them about it and they were so professional and helpful. They willingly let us bring it back and trade out for another tree.We also have gotten red wheat from them that we have not been able to find anywhere else locally. All in all these guys are great and I would highly recommend them.

I couldn't believe that they had a garbage disposal couple. Scotty's is a place where they have some things to get most of your housing essential needs and car needs and various things. Friendly and resourceful especially when your purchasing paint. They actually educate you on various paints and gloss and that are able to be washable. Very resourceful.

A bit overpriced and only a couple variations and name brands of most popular tools. The employees are extremely knowledgeable with the store layout, every time I had an issue finding a particular item I simply ask the closest employee near me and he/she can point me right to it. The auto section being a separate entity from the hardware portion and not being aloud to buy hardware stuff at the auto desk and vicaversa. Its just a bit confusing is all. The convenience of the small town hardware store is really nice and because of the added convenience the slightly higher prices is justifiable

I had a horrible experience here. Employees were not helpful and made us feel very unwelcome. One got mad at my 7 year old for playing with snow in the tree lot. That's what kids do and what was it hurting??? Nothing. Another employee asked my kids to put the toy they were looking at back because she was rearranging the display. If they can't look at a toy while we are there then I surely won't buy any toys from there. We go every year to pick out our Christmas tree from here and my kids have always loved this tradition. Well NOT this year. I may never return due to this experience and the rudeness of the employees.

It is so nice to have a local store in Rigby where we can pick up a variety of things for the home. I like to get gardening supplies, auto parts, and household items. Scotty's is always clean, the staff are helpful, and the store has a great selection. I am glad we have a locally owned store in our small town of Rigby.

They have everything you can think of and more. I needed some very hard to find screws for my rifle and all I had to do was ask. The sales staff are very helpful and courteous.They care about service in an olden times kinda way.

I needed to buy some rubber washers and asked an associate for help. She didn't just tell me where they were, she went out of her way to take me to the product and help me find the best one for my needs. She was so friendly and helpful. I realk y appreciated not only her helpl but her happy, fun, positive attitude as well.

I called ahead to see if a part was available, The girl said it was, I went in to pick it up. I also needed the tool to put it on and a jump pack for the Battery that together was $260.00 when I arrived I grabbed the tool and the jump pack and asked for the part, the less than helpful parts manager, looked around for a minute and said he did not see it. Will not trust this store again!

We went in today to buy auto parts and weren't sure what we needed, but it didn't take very long at all for us to get some help! The employee that helped us was also willing to come take a quick look at our car to find out some information for the parts that we weren't sure of. The service here is excellent!

So happy they carry IFA 20% protein chicken feed! They are the only store in the area that does!
