Not sure I would recommend this place for getting your cat spayed/neutered because I'm not sure if this is common, but he urinated on himself and it seemed like the staff wasn't very fond of him so I'm curious if this is the same for most or all cats that have gone here. I expected they would take better care of him but I just left with frustration and confused thoughts on how they would leave him like this. From what I'm seeing though they did well on the surgery just wish that he didn't have to come home cold and wet. I attached a photo however the photo doesn't really do justice to how bad it is.

This is absolutely the best vet I’ve been to. So far we’ve taken our 3 dogs and one cat. It’s not a fancy office, but they do incredible work and have the best prices around. From regular checkups, to laser treatments for our old boys back inflammation, to having to put our sweet girl down when her organs failed from old age. I just got a new kitten and will be taking him there soon. Every staff member is bright, warm, knowledgeable, and they are so excited to see your baby!!! This is where you want to bring your fluffy family members. They take incredible care of them. I’m so glad they gave us the opportunity to say goodbye to our girl on our terms, when we were ready, and let us hold her in our arms as she went to sleep. Thank you Mountain River Vet!

These guys are great! Everyone on the staff wonderful. My GSD had a lump on his tail. They got him in right away, without outrageous exam fees. They helped me keep costs down while giving my boy the proper medication and we were able to avoid surgery to remove the lump. I definitely recommend Mountain River Veterinary Hospital. The vet techs are incredible, the vets are thorough and explain everything clearly. All my animals will be treated here.

1 star is even disgraceful to this place. Killing a dog for routine shots and giving no sympathy or attempt to apologize nor help is disgusting. Do not take your animals here.

We had excellent care here at Mountain River, they went above and beyond for our girl who ended up having a bit more going on then we thought they kept her for emergency surgery and a 3 day stay after and she was in the absolute best hands! GREAT STAFF!! Totally professional, friendly, and caring, If you have to leave your "Furbaby " there they call and give you updates. Nice facility, clean and modern, they also have a "Furbaby " art gallery, as well as boarding facilities. I wouldn't hesitate at all to take any one of my "Kids" there.🤗🤗🤗

We called at 8 am regarding our dog and they were able to get us in at 11 the same day. They listened to our concerns & validated them which was nice since it is an issue with her eyes. They also listened to us about her anxiety and were able to give her medication to help! They also listened to us about her other meds and got us one that will hopefully help. They were reasonably priced as well which was an added bonus! We will definitely be back.

My husband has had good care for his dog. They’ve worked really hard to find a diagnosis which we appreciate and they continue to treat him and make him comfortable. We were able to adopt a cat that they saved as well. I like that kind of heart. However at the time of adoption we were told that any more procedures for his current condition would be free of charge. We took him back in a few weeks later for more work. We were charged for the procedure. He’s worth it so I paid gladly, but not impressed with the dishonesty. Also I have seen the rudeness of the office manager multiple times. She can be ruthless in her business dealings. I’ve even seen her push her way through the door when another employee was clearly holding it open for a client trying to get out, arms full of a large kennel. So I will stick with my vet in Ammon where everyone is treated so well in all circumstances.

Horrible place, vet guy gave my kitten 3 staples when she got fix and that's it. She died the next day due to opening her 3 staples and all her intestine came out in front of my daughter . As the doctor was telling us he was like showing no compassion and ask if we wanted to see her. As we go into the back they had her all open up and no cover on her again right infront of my daughter to see. Will tell this story to every animal lover who adopts my foster kittens. I hope noone has to see or live threw this like I had to. Horrible place my baby never got to live a happy long life 💔 never go here

I can’t recommend Dr. Bell enough. We dealt with SO many vets when it came to our dog’s health issues and had so many negative experiences, but Dr. Bell went up and beyond for us and made us feel like we were getting the best care for our dog. I’m so grateful to her and will never forget her!

Biggest waste of time. My dog had been crushed by a ranger and somehow made it out without any broken bones. Brought her in to check her out because she had some swelling in her abdomen, began to shake and her gums were snow white.The vet was going in an out of other walk-in appointments and didn't even TOUCH HER until I requested for him to do an examination since I was paying for one. He did a quick lookover, said she looked fine and that was it. He didn't really believe me at all.He recommended a blood test and didn't really do anything after that. Charged me 125 for a whole bunch of non-answers and when I told the front desk my frustrations they said he had so many walk-ins today. So what? Don't have walk-in appointments if you can't provide for your clients or are understaffed.The vet tech was great, but other than that it was the biggest waste of my life and I hope my dog doesn't actually have anything hidden that is wrong. I will not be coming back.

These vets provide the best care I've ever had from a veterinarian, and we have used a lot of great vets. Their prices are amazing, and when my dog needed emergency care they were able to fit him in even though it was the weekend. They saved my puppy and I can never thank them enough.

I'm so grateful for Mountain River Vet!! A couple weeks ago I had to make an emergency call after hours to come in with my little dog. I was greeted with friendly staff who met me there after 10pm. They went out of their way to make sure we were taken care of! We have been loyal vistors for years and recommend them to everyone! Thank you for taking care of us and treating us like family!

Why doesn’t google have an option for 0 stars? You’re seriously going let a baby puppy die in your waiting room while he had severe bloody bowels and was vomiting after a reaction he had to getting vaccines from YOU that same day. That’s actually insane and it’s a joke to call this place a hospital.

I absolutely love Mountain River Vet, Dr. Garth Waddoups is such an incredible individual, he really loves animals of all sizes. I’ve been in the professional Pet industry for 13+years there’s no one I trust more with my personal dogs and clients dogs. I love the staff they greet my fur babies by name, they’re always so caring and tender. I can’t recommend this practice enough if I move I’m driving how ever far I have to so we can continue to see Dr. Waddoups, truly a gem! I can’t say thank you enough for everything you do for us

Very unprofessional. Didn’t take us to a separate room they took us to the back and we saw many animals passed out or being worked on and I had my kid with me. The person who helped us didn’t tell us what the shots were that she put in our dog and didn’t seem like she knew what she was doing. Do not recommend this place at all. We also had to hold our own dog down to get her shots.

Do not recommend this office if your pet is suffering. I took my standard Poodle here multiple times for a severe ear infection. They NEVER did a culture, never tested to see what the actual problem was. Just charged me lots of money to put him to sleep to "clean it out" and then gave us random antibiotics that would only help for a couple days and then he was worse again. After 3 visits with them where I had spent sooo much money and the only thing they did was look in his ear and prescribe another antibiotic I decided to call them and see if they could prescribe something for pain and an antibiotic without an appointment because I could not afford to keep coming in and getting the charge for the visit. The lady called me back after talking to the doctor and told me that the doctor will not prescribe any more antibiotics and the only option is surgery to remove his ear canal. I advised them I could not afford that at this time and begged them to prescribe me something for his pain until I could and they refused. And they NEVER EVER treated his pain at all from the start. I found another vet immediately, this vet prescribed pain medication immediately as well as an antibiotic an anti yeast and a ear wash for 2 weeks to bring the inflammation so he could get a good look at it. 2 weeks later we were in his office where they kept my dog OVER NIGHT, put him to sleep, cleaned the ear, SWABBED the ear and determined the infection was pseudomonas. They prescribed Zenequin and Baytril as well as gabapentin to keep him out of pain. That entire visit plus his medications (expensive medications at that) was $305. I was paying over $150 each time the vet lifted my dogs ear and prescribed an antibiotic at this office. And the best news of all!? My dog is infection free! And his ear wasn't removed! I will forever be so proud of myself for getting a second opinion and not letting this vet remove my dogs ear drum. The biggest reason I won't recommend them though is that when my dog was suffering and in IMMENSE pain (I'm talking he screamed and shook his head at least 14 hours a day) they didn't care at all, meanwhile our vet now was prescribing him everything he could to get him out of pain and comfortable his first day in his office. Please please please always get a second opinion and don't let an office treat you this way.

Disorganized, unprofessional, and irritating. Took our 9 year old dog in for an xray for her back leg. Spent a total of 5 hours, across two appointments, one of which we left our dog for the day because they didnt know when they would get to it, for an xray and surgery options. Sent me and my three young children in to a room to review xrays where there was blood, fur, and exposed syringes on both the exam table and office/computer desk. Vet recommended a surgery, two additional medications, and monthly injections. My sweet old dog was leashed to the wall with no slack to lie down. I don't know how long she was there. Check out was chaotic. Took 3 people to determine my balance. They determined I had overpaid at previous appointment and had a 90$ credit. They offered me the refund, but I mistakenly asked them to leave it on the account as our dog needed surgery. Had to ask for my dog twice before they brought her to me. Received a second opinion from another office who informed me the surgery Mountain River Vet recommended had the least amount of research backing it, not great outcomes documented, and was significantly more expensive. He also shared the injections they recommended were very expensive for the minimal benefit our dog might receive. Called Mountain River Vet to receive our 90$ credit after deciding to have another office provide the surgery, which our dog has already received. They informed us we in fact do not have a credit, they could not explain what had happened, and repeatedly stated "sorry that it seems that way". We had been taking our dogs to this office for the last three or more years. I will never return.

My dogs have been going to MRVH for a couple of years. We appreciate the vets and staff there, but we REALLY enjoy the doggie daycare! The girls at the daycare take care of my dogs, like they were their own dogs! Kassidy and the girls do a fantastic job, and I love taking my dogs there!

They have been the worst vet clinic I have ever been to, both for horses and dogs. No compassion! My horse had colic for the first time ever and was told to take her home and watch her. She just got worse and was told immediately that it would be $10,000 to do surgery. I asked if they could tube her with oil and the Dr Olafason said I don't do that because it's too messy. He just IV her with pain medication and she died within 2 days. Initially, I was told she was doing better the day she died. I had to call to find out she died. Also, be aware of billing and how fast they will send you to collection.
