The vets here are great but I will not come back for grooming. We asked for a teddy bear cut for our doodle and he came out with shaved hair falling off him, his tail wasn’t trimmed, his ears were irritated, and his toes weren’t trimmed (which we found out later). Sadly it was a hack job. We just got him groomed with our favorite groomer and she had to shave his tail and between his toes because they weren’t taken care of at his last grooming appointment. Go somewhere else :(.The first picture was his grooming appointment with Cedar Ridge and the second was his most recent appointment with someone else.

Extremely upset and unimpressed with this place I had talked to the groomer when dropping her off about how I wanted her cut, showed him pictures, and he told me what he was able to do. However, what he did was not at all what he said he was going to do and I picked my dog up completely shaved. If I wanted her shaved I would have done it myself. Not paid $75 for someone else to do it. DO NOT go to cedar ridge. Such a a disappointment. Worst place ever. I will never go back or referring anyone here.Adding on to what you responded back Debbie, I never stated that she was anxious. Not sure where you got that information. The groomer stated that he was going to leave her body longer and the top of her head/neck longer and that her ears and snout would be trimmed shorter therefore, the cut was NOT done accordingly. Not to mention on our phone call the groomer said we discussed “restarting her coat”. That was NEVER once discussed. I specifically said do not shave her. And he shaved her down to her skin. Didn’t been leave a little bit of hair anywhere. The irritation were not even where the matting was. They are on her legs. The groomer was too lazy to do his job and groom so he took the easy way out and shaved her. Let’s not forgot you hung up the phone on me without resolving this matter. Very professional place.It’s quite upsetting that the manager believed the groomer who was lying during our phone conversation over an upset client. They way he shaved her down to the skin and didn’t leave any hair is just sad. It could have been prevented. She has been matted way worse and past groomers have done their jobs and taken their time with her so that they don’t have to shave her down. This place takes the easy way out and there’s other reviews that prove that as well.

Here’s a good way to make money: tell your customers it cost $160 to spay your cat (a full $20 less than the competition!), then say they need to wait 3 weeks after the cat is out of heat before bringing them in. Don’t tell them cats ovulate every 2-3 weeks. This pretty much assures you’ll make the extra $40 charge if a cat is in heat. We won’t be back.

Horrible. If I could give 0 stars I would. Our dog had a recurring ear infection that got treated the same way three times. It always came back, and when we went to a different vet they recommended a diet change which fixed his ears instantly. Turns out he had an allergy that manifested through raw paws and ear infections. Cedar ridge never mentioned anything about diet to us and we wasted hundreds of dollars here. We also got our dog groomed here months ago and he came home with a long cut on his chin/throat. I understand accidents happen, but we weren’t notified of this and had to discover it on our own.Edit: We never mentioned paw problems to this other vet either, she just heard that he’d been tested 3 times for ears and immediately suggested a diet change. There was a follow up, the second time we went was technically a “follow up”, and we didn’t bother scheduling a second follow up after our third visit because nothing you did was working. The cut doesn’t bother so much as the fact that we weren’t told about it, we found it ourselves. There was a miscommunication between myself and my wife regarding the third visit but that doesn’t change the fact that Cedar Ridge did the same thing over and over even when it clearly wasn’t working.

We've been taking our dog here for a year now and they are GREAT. Dr. Hanson fixed a surgery that our previous vet botched and because of the amazing care provided by him and all of the techs she recovered really well despite the previous vet's office sub-par care. AND we found our new mainstay for veterinary care.There have been multiple times when we've needed our dog seen right away and they've always been accommodating and worked with us when she needs care. One of my favorite things about the way Cedar Ridge does things is that whenever our dog has an appointment, both the vet and the techs are well informed on her condition and the findings of the appointment. They can always answer any questions or concerns we have. It's been a wonderful (and clean!) place to take our animal so far.

I did my research on this place before bringing my small dog here, and I made the right decision! I have not had a bad experience here. All the workers are polite, respectful and mindful of customers and their pets. There has been a couple times where I am waiting in the lobby because there is no one behind the front desk, but only for 5-10 minutes. Prices are $$-$$$ depending on what services are needed. They provide grooming, nail trimming, dental work, exams, overnight boarding, etc. They take care of your pets!

The doctors and vet techs are always so kind and knowledgeable. They’ve taken great care of our dog. The services are reasonably priced, and I’ve even had them help me with bringing prices down a few times. They are very compassionate to the owners, too.Boarding has been fine, and I have no complaints. They seem to have taken good care of our dog. We’ll definitely use them again when we can’t get a friend to watch our dog!Grooming here has been terrible. This is the only reason my review is not a 5-star rating. The groomer didn’t do what I asked, and when I complained, she was very rude and dismissive. I’ve heard they recently changed staffing for grooming, so I hope it’s better now, but we won’t be back for that service.Overall, this is an awesome animal hospital and we’ll use them as long as we’re in the area!

Trust me. Go somewhere else. Dr. Hanson is a great vet. His Vet Techs are terrible. For anything other than major surgery I wouldn’t trust the vet techs with your animal. Looking at you Bruce and Makenzie.

We boarded our dog here because we had to go out of town for a couple days… when we got back our dog was sick with multiple different things going on such as wheezing, blood shot and runny eyes, super bad diarrhea, lethargic, and coughing. She also smelled really bad like feces the day we got her back. I would highly recommend elsewhere.

The groomer who took care of our dog is either incompetent in listening to instructions or has no regard for hearing what customers are looking for when they drop off their dogs to be groomed. You would think showing them pictures and an explanation of what we were looking for, with a strong emphasis of DO NOT SHAVE OUR DOG, would give them an idea of what we wanted. Instead we showed up to a dog that was shaved to the skin.Now don't get me wrong, I'm no pet groomer, but can say with a high degree of confidence that if I were hung upside down and pepper sprayed I still would have done a better job.I understand doodles can be hard to groom but even if I had a hairless cat and brought it here to be groomed, I'm sure they would find a way to mess it up.Sincerely,The now owner of a hairless golden doodle

I have always taken my animals for their routine check ups here, but I decided to get my Yorkie groomed here and I will never go anywhere else! They asked what I wanted and gave me exactly that. They got him smelling fabulous and sent him home in a cute little bandana.

DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE FOR GROOMING. Not only will you not get what you want, you will get lies and manipulation. There are so many poor reviews strictly related to the grooming side of this establishment, so take this as your sign not to go here. I am a firm believer in everyone deserves a second chance but as you can see from the countless negative reviews that they have had their chance and then some. They have no respect for their clients and their wishes, which makes me wonder how they actually treat your dog behind closed doors. There are plenty of other places in town that will do a much better job. Don't take this as an angry customer, but as someone who is looking out for others so that they don't have to go through the same horrible experience with their dogs. It's seriously not worth the risk just go somewhere else!

I have loved seeing the Dr's here. I love that they always have time for an emergency or last-minute visit. They haven't ever charged me for more than I thought we needed, and the price is always reasonable. I trust them with my momma dog's care as well as her litter of puppies. I recommend them to anyone looking for a vet to make long lasting relationships with.The facility is large and clean. The staff and Dr's are always so helpful and kind.

I love this vet clinic! You can tell the staff cares about your animal, and they do an amazing job of helping your animal feel as calm as possible. The pricing is decent as well , you're essentially getting what you pay for.

Buckle up, it’s a long one. Dr Hansen is wonderful & I love every time he checks on our pets. The young college-age vet techs/receptionists have also been very sweet & kind to us & our pets. However, recently, we had an issue with our black lab a few times having an ear wound & we spent hundreds of dollars trying to get it contained. They recommended multiple surgeries & medications & we were concerned so we complied. They had us come back for multiple follow up appointments & sometimes when we showed up for those, they didn’t know we would be coming & didn’t have our names on the schedule. Of course they tried to accommodate for things that didn’t work out the best they could. They tried to help with cost & everything, but it was still a lot of money. Once we couldn’t afford the vet expenses anymore, we had to stop going. Miraculously, his ear finally healed when we just let it be.A particular older receptionist that answers the phones is also not very kind or compassionate. Pretty rude & condescending, actually. Sounds like a lot of other people have had problems with her as well, so I’m surprised she’s still employed there. I’m not uptight or high maintenance with my pets, I feel like I don’t ask for much or have high expectations when it comes to their vet care, but she sure made me feel like I was dramatic haha. I had a phone call with her yesterday trying to get an appointment for my very pregnant dog & she cut me off saying there was nothing they could do except an x ray. So, thinking that was my only option, I said okay put me down for your next nearest appointment. She refused because I couldn’t confirm the appointment immediately, even though I said I would clear my schedule & make it work. So I just politely said nevermind, thank you, hung up, & I have made an appointment with another vet who happily complied & told me the many options I have for my pregnant dog. Again, love Dr Hansen & the vet techs, so that’s why I leave any stars at all.

Update: For our latest appointment they gave us a 10% discount based on past issues. I’m grateful they were willing to listen to our concerns.Every time we call to ask what the pricing will look like for services, they tell us a low price, and then when we go to the appointment the charges are way higher than what they told us. We get charged more every single time, and there are certain (unnecessary) services we wouldn’t have opted for if we had known it would be as expensive. They’ve also treated our dog for things that ended up not being the actual problem, so we were charged for many medications and exams that were not needed. My advice is that you take your dog somewhere else.

This review is in relation to the grooming department. We got our dog groomed here about 4 months ago and he has just recently barely grown out from the groom we got him there. It was by far the worst groom he has ever had (he is 15 years old and gets groomed every 2 months). We asked for teddy bear groom on him and they shaved him down like a rat. I was so upset. It was not at all what we communicated, and the groomer seemed very dismissive and passive when we dropped him off. She didn’t ask us specific questions on how we wanted the groom, and it seemed very rushed. He’s still VERY uneven. I definitely do not recommend for grooming services.

Dr. Hanson is great and very helpful! I feel like he cares about my pets and gives me reassurance. My only negative comment is this. I feel like I’m asking a lot when I try to get my pets scheduled. I’ve spoken to a specific receptionist/tech a couple of times that isn’t very personable. I wish I could remember her name. Other than that, I recommend Cedar Ridge!

When looking for a vet for my new dog I was initially nervous based on some of the reviews. You really want what’s best for your pet and so choosing a vet is a huge and emotional decision. I couldn’t have been more pleased with my experience at this Vet. The ladies at reception were helpful and really welcoming. The wait times initially seem long but that’s because they put so much care into making sure you feel comfortable. I had Dr. Hanson and he couldn’t have been better. He answered questions that I had and treated Lola with the utmost care. I can’t speak to the negative reviews but what I will say is getting bad news at the vet is very emotional for many pet owners. There is no one I would trust my pet with more than Dr. Hanson.

Cedar Ride is caring, attentive and friendly. American Pitbull Bruce has been getting along well with Pointier Chief. They were both rescued from the animal shelter and took them both in. They both had the rabies shot and both were neutered and thanks to Cedar Ride they both have a new lease in life. Bruce and Chief are best of buddy's with a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Chompy, I named him that because he's a herding 🐕 and likes to nibble on the ankles. I bought a 13.00 blue kiddie pool and they have plenty of water to drink. Man they run faster than kid flash. All 3 run from a distance and extended their extremities like Superman and splash 🏖️🌊 🐕🐶🐕. Having that said I want to share our pet family favorite song by Jerre Lee Lewis, Great Balls of Fire 🔥 (1957). Have a happy Summer Cedar Ride. We have nothing but love for you guys 💞. Thank you, thank you, thank you 🙏😊.

Our poor doggies got kennel cough, and the vet was able to identify it and get our dog and our puppy appropriate meds for each. The vets were very responsive to our concerns and knowledgeable in what to do. We love Cedar Ridge Animal Hospital and wouldn't take our animals anywhere else!

This vet is amazing. We have been here a few times. Loved the first Dr we saw here and accidentally got booked with the other Dr they have the last time and he was also an amazing vet. If you know me you would know, I do not like Drs often if ever brb cause most of them are halfway retarded at best imo. When it comes to this vet office, you can't go wrong with either one. On top of that, they try to find you the cheapest options and will make every possible effort to deliver the best possible care for the absolute cheapest possible amount. I was incredibly impressed and I highly recommend!

Doctor and a few of the staff are nice and helpful, and considerate. You can tell they generally love what they do.However, please be aware that some employees here are not nice to work with. One of the older employees criticize one of the receptionist in front of me. To be honest, that is very unprofessional and show the poor management skill.When I took my 8 weeks old puppy in for a check up, one of the nurse in the back tell my dog to shut up. If you hate your job, why are you working here??? Not impressed by her at all.Overall, the price at this place is higher than other places in Rexburg. The only reason I took my dogs here is because the other vet clinic is constantly busy.

I recently shared a negative review about an experience I had here where I felt I wasn’t listened to and the staff had no concern for my pet. I was called about a day later by the owner/Dr Hansen. He listened to my concern and was very kind and apologetic. He also assured me that he would be working with his staff on this and hoped we would give them another chance. I thought this was a great gesture of him to call and tell me how they planned to correct this in the future.
