I love this store. Both the owner and his fur baby are very kind, being greeted by them is day brightening for sure. The only gripe I have is that the rings are made of something odd. I have metal allergies and have a hard time wearing anything under sterling silver grade. Usually cheaper rings leave a green line on my skin as they wear down because of the copper base. The ring I bought here turned my finger a dark blackish purple after the coating wore down, and took a few days to return to normal. As the color went away you could see a dark, dry patch of skin where the ring had laid. I've never experienced something like this, and it was honestly pretty scary to wake up to. Other than this I have had nothing but good experiences with this shop.

Brian is always helpful, with fair prices and amazing products. We hope to continue to do business with book viking for many years to come. And if you look close enough you will find the store mascot. A red fingernailed sweet pea!

Amazing people, who know their books and their gems and minerals. Helpful staff, community focused, great owners. I always make a point to check out their gem stock whenever I visit Rexburg, and you should, too!

Definitely one of my favorite places in Rexburg. Not only do they offer college textbooks at a discounted price, but they have an incredible variety of gems and rocks at a price that can't be beat. Easily one of my favorite jobs I've ever had on top of that. Book Viking is the place to be!

Great staff. Super helpful with trying to find my books. You can rent or buy books from them. Some are much cheaper than school's prices

I have half the mind to stand outside the BYUI bookstore so EVERYONE can be saved money and time!!! I loved and love Book Viking. The books are in great or good condition, and super cheap. And not pretend cheap, like theoretically discounted, but then still a lot of money--but are actually really affordable!!!I got one book rented for $4, and other for $7!! They also do rent-to-buy, so if I decide I want to own them, I just pay the difference. The TOTAL buy cost was $8 and $14, so I would just pay another $4 and $7. Perfect for someone like me who worries about decision-making and FOMO...you can't lose with a setup like this! They also let you return books (very early on in the semester) so as you're arranging your schedule those first few days you aren't out of luck if you drop a class and already bought a book.I chose it over Amazon (even though Amazon is my go-to) because it is instantaneous arrival (though they do offer shipping, but I haven't used that), most often cheaper, and through Amazon I feel like you could accidentally order the wrong edition. Plus, they seem more compassionate and personal then Jeff Bezos ;)The employees were so kind to me, that I actually felt like they were this close, super fun, unified, work-family that includes anyone who wants to be a part, haha!It was REALLY easy to find my books, and everyone is cheerful and ready to help.I loved it and while it is really close to campus, even if I did have to walk the distance (across the street from Broulims) I would do it.I never write reviews, even if exceptional or awful, because I got enough "little tasks" that pester my mind. But, they made a PERSONAL enough connection, just in the simple interaction of me as a customer, that I decided to write one.P.S. They sell cool things that aren't books at a decent price, and have a chill cat. Even if you don't like cats, you'd like this one! :)I would write more, but the Reels generation probably didn't even read to this point ;)

I LOVE this store! It is a small shop that has books, but I was there to check out the crystals and WOW! I was seriously impressed. Great prices, incredible selection, and so many things I've never seen before. I usually am in the Idaho Falls area but it was very worth making the drive for.

I’ll be honest, I don’t even care about the books. I’ve never used them for textbook rental. But the store is owned by a cat and they have all sorts of cool rocks and crystals and other sorts of trinkets. You are guaranteed to find something you want to buy as a gift for someone.

Amazing prices! Amazing products!! Amazing people!!! I couldn't live this little business more! Seriously... They stand behind their products to a degree I would NEVER expect them to in a million years. I bought a hand wrapped dragon tooth amethyst necklace from here for my birthday this year. It fell out of the wire after 2 weeks and I off handedly mentioned it to the owner while I was in there buying chakra necklaces for my pittie pups and he told me without hesitation to pick out another dragon tooth amethyst and they would make me another one at their expense! And he is even making cuts in it so it doesn't fall out this time! I figured it was my fault and my problem but this is the only store I'm going to buy from from here on out!

This store is amazing! Their process is SO efficient. We were in and out in no time at all, even as new customers. Their employees were top-notch, and they gave us candy for being new customers! Also, the prices were incredible. I rented 4 books for $20 (obviously price varies based on the book), and they said that if I really like the books, I can come back and pay the extra cost to keep them. They also offer a short-term return policy if it turns out you don’t need the book. Highly recommend this company!

What a great gem.For the service they provide, they are a great business & have a lot of useful resources for students. I have been attending BYUI for a yr now - not once have they ever been unhelpful, rude, or dissatisfying. They have every textbook I have ever needed in stock or ready to rent/buy immediately. I have compared the prices myself, they are the place to go if you want to see a big difference in your wallet while attending school.Plus- they have really cool rocks & stones you can buy, so the energy is great. I'll say once again, what a great gem!

This was my first time visiting the store. I called ahead and spoke with an exceptionally polite worker who answered all my questions. When I came in, there were plenty of people who directed me and explained what the next step was. Personally, there were a tab too many people that it got a little overwhelming. Thankfully, they were all so nice. The computer system was a little confusing. I ended up having to log in twice because the window closed five times on me. They have a discount deal for if you pay with cash. Definitely wish I had known about that before I came by. Regardless, the textbook I got was fairly cheap.Edit: I put out a Facebook request for assistance in the child care program I am a part of and Book Viking came in clutch. The store is becoming a rock shop and Brian Wood helped me with the information and resources to make this week a success with the children. This week's theme was rocks and Book Viking's contributions made the subject matter engaging and interesting. Mr. Wood is definitely someone who cares about this community!

I love book viking!! They are definitely much cheaper than campus, so kind and willing to help, and they always have the books I need when I pick up early! They also have a pretty neat store and their website is simple and easy to use. I highly recommend them to anyone! Check them out!!

This place is fantastic! I used to work here, so I understand the system. They will almost always be cheaper than the schools books, yet the quality will be just the same (new is still new, used is still used). On top of that, the employees are super friendly. The process is painless as long as you return rented books on time. I don't see why anyone would rent anywhere else!

It's an alright store, they undersell you on any book buy back and resell it as if it were new. I'd suggest renting books if you really need them, but their prices aren't very competitive. There is a cool mineral and fossil collection up for sale that's visible from the parking lot, it's all pretty neat. But yeah, over all it's pretty average. Nice cat though.

This place may very well have saved me from a debt filled life. They are very kind and understanding. Their prices are easily half that of what the university sells them and they have cool rocks/minerals... where’s that collection bookstore??? They are flexible on returns and actually sound like they want to help you out.

The Staff here are great! They help you get the books you need and for a cheaper price. This was my first time renting a book from them and I really liked how friendly Everyone was. They even gave me a slice of pizza which was pretty sweet.

Wow this place is great! They have books for school at super low prices. They also have neat Knick knacks to look at. Sheliese was so kind and friendly! She wanted to ensure that I made a good decision in buying books, and she did the same for other customers. Hope more students will consider them for their book needs 👍

Prices are fair, and it is true they are cheaper than campus. I purchased a book instead of renting and was given one that was damaged (literally a sticker on the back that says damaged, so they knew). Also, don't go in there if you are allergic to cats. Even with their fast service, I am still leaving there sneezing.

Love this place to get my books for the semester! Super low prices too! My book costs went down from a total of $300 to just $35! Everyone there is so helpful and sometimes you get to see the little cat. 11/10 would recommend to anyone looking to rent or buy their books. They also will buy most of your books off of you if you take them in! Definitely going back to Book Viking when I need books again for my next semester.

They are fantastic with their customer service! Great at communicating. At the beginning of the semester I had a book that they needed to order and although there was a mistake in the the delivery (that was not their fault it was the delivery company) they offered a refund or anything they could do to since I was book less for a couple days. In the end it all worked out and I have never been happier with Book Viking. If you need books for school, this is the place and they'll do everything they can to help!

I love that I can get my college books cheaper here than at the University Store. Plus you can rent them and if you decided to buy them later you only have to pay the difference unlike the University store. The people working there are amazing too!! 😁 11/10 would recommend.

They are definitely cheaper than campus. Depending on what classes you're taking, you can probably buy your books cheaper online at AbeBooks or ThriftBooks than it costs to rent them at BookViking. Overall though, they're always super nice, and the process is quick and painless. Not a bad option!

They gave me $1 for my organic chemistry textbook that was in really good condition which, on Amazon is sold for $100.69. I don’t know why they have such good reviews. Maybe they rent out books for super cheap, but I will never sell to them again.
