I was looking at fish but no one came to ask if I needed help. Once I found someone she was nice and helped me. She did listen that I needed larger fish since I had a established school. She spent time to get the larger ones instead of the little ones that swam into her net. Cashier was friendly and we had a nice conversation.

Everything is way over priced and the one dogfood my dogs eat you quit carrying in my local Nampa Idaho store and it takes a freaking week to ship! Meaning it is impossible to get their food in time. Also a 26lb bag should not cost 50 bucks! That is almost two dollars a pound when my dogs original food Diamond Naturals is 40lbs for 38 dollars. Less than 1 dollar a pound! Very disappointed.

LEXI helps us almost every time we come in and she does an outstanding job every time! We absolutely love this place and the staff ! We have been coming in for years now and we have quite the little zoo at home and absolutely love it ! Lexi always does an above and beyond job ! Very informative , helpful, friendly and always helps us find everything we need in our budget :)

I have had the most pleasant experience with the young lady that works the aquatic department. She is always pleasant, very informative and patient. I have been in this location multiple times a week for the last couple months. I have been setting up multiple aquariums as well as converting my oldest one to a strictly planted tank. It has cost a small fortune. I have made many purchases online and in store throughout the process. I have also made several returns. I have had many fish casualties and have had to exchange fish that I don't feel fit well in my aquariums. I get my water checked every time I go in with a dead fish and have been told it's fine. If you browse through the tanks while you are there your will see many dead fish so it should be no surprise that people have casualties. That's why they have a 30 day guarantee.Anyway, tonight after work I pop in to pick up the fish I ordered and some live crickets. I mention to the fish employees that I want to exchange some cory cats that I purchased recently because they are boring to me (hiding all the time). Healthy and happy but boring. She said I can no problem because she is amazing like that. I run home and grab my fish, then head back to the store. I pick the fish I want to exchange them for and head up to the register. I am helped my a male in a managerial position (Cody is the name on the receipt, so I'm sure thats his name) with whom I didn't have a very pleasant experience with last time I was in. I give him my phone number and the return slip given to my by the fish department. Mind you these are healthy live fish and I am well within the return period. He tells me I never paid for all 5 of the fish in the first place but only 3. I explained they were purchased on 2 consecutive days. I asked if I found the receipt if I could do the exchange that way? He tells me "there are only 3 linked to your phone number, I can't return something you didn't pay for but I guess". Makes sense, I hadn't checked my receipts before leaving the counter so I suppose it's possible I was charged incorrectly. I am looking for my recipe in the dozen or so petco receipts I have in my wallet when cody says snidely... "you have made A LOT of returns" my response was "I have the right to make returns". When you take into account the amount of money I have spent there and on their website in recent months, I feel it's normal to have returns. Especially when you are dealing with live fish who are easily stressed and often times sick when you get them. I was kinda pissed by the comment, I work in law enforcement and felt like he was questioning my honesty. I told him I guess I just borrowed the other 2, that I am not so hard up for money that I need to argue over 2 $3 fish. I spent hard earned money there many times. They took it without question. But when you have a return they treat you like you are committing a crime. Last time I returned a brand new beta tank, I never even opened the box, the questioning at the register was crazy. I won't say I'll never go back because there are a lot of professional and kind employees there, but I'll show him the same respect he has shown me. He could learn a lot from the staff in lesser positions.If you aren't cut out for customer service that's fine, not everyone is. But MAYBE don't be a manager in a customer service position.

Tonight an associate told me she could not sell me a goldfish, because I asked if it would survive in my son’s fishbowl, because it would be “unethical.” I asked her how that worked, when they had so often sold me goldfish to feed to my other son’s snake. She informed me that it’s different if they’re to be food, but if they’re to be “friends,” she had to be sure that I was going to “give it ten gallons of filtered water so that it can reach its natural potential size, and have the best life possible.” Because fish have feelings, and anything else would be “cruel.“

Absolutely awful. I would never recommend to buy or support this business. They take horrible care of their animals, especially their reptiles. I would give this place a 0 if I could. Most of the Most of the employees not absolutely nothingWe had brought as a rescue, and the employee basically admitted that they can’t take care of her and I have absolutely no idea How to take care of her so I bought her and we soaked her and kept her at 90% humidity every day and I took her back to Petco so she could see the vet because the shed was not coming off of her tail and they refunded us all of our money and we checked to make sure that we would still have her because we want to keep her and we had to leave her there and the next day we came back to check and they told us that we can’t take her home or anything and they have to leave her there for the vet treatments because technically we surrendered her back to Petco and she’s not ours anymore so even though we will get her back if her treatment successful she’s not ours. If we would have known this we would have kept her and just paid to take her to the vet because we know that Petco does not keep their animals correctly. The lady we talked to did not give us a choice though. Since she was not taken care of properly they will have to take off some toes and possibly amputate some of her tail but if they decide that it will affect her quality of life they will just put her down

I am a frequent customer of this exact location. I am in there at least once a week, if not more. I have been enough times that I recognize employee faces, and have learned names.I find myself- specifically looking for LEXI when I arrive at the store. She is SO FRIENDLY. Like- I mean so friendly.I have a hard time comprehending things from time to time and need things repeated sometimes, and she is so patient and has never made me feel bad for needing a bit of extra time understanding things.She answers any questions I have with warmness and she is educational in such a friendly way! And that’s why I keep going back to her! She doesn’t make me feel bad when I have room for improvement - and I thank her so much for this, as I’ve learned so much from her, and I want the very best for my animals, as any pet owner should!KNOW BETTER, DO BETTER!There is always room for improvement as animal owners. Her heart is definitely in the right place. She cares so much about every living creature in the store, and YOUR ANIMAL, and you can tell!The customer service that Lexi gives, keeps me coming back to Petco- it is above and beyond, and she makes me feel valued as a customer.

The employee who helped us with the female betas and octo was very knowledgeable and friendly. She gave us a lot of helpful information. The cashier who checked us out was Hannah, she was also full of information on starting a female beta sorority and shared her experiences with her own sorority. You can tell that the employees really care about their customers.

My experience with you guys was good but not fully. I wait for someone to help me for like 10 minutes or alittle more. No one never came. Even after I asked the person in the cashier.So I had to ask someone for help.But once they helped me it was a good experience. I have a disability and I can't get alot of stuff on the top shelf. But the girl that help me was very nice & Patient on explaining everything to me.

So I’ve been getting most of my fish here for the past year or so. The staff are nice and helpful. I’ve gotten all of my nano fish and almost all of my bettas from this location. But for the love of everything please separate your pea puffers from your nano’s. Every time I look in that tank for the past 6 months there are several fish with nubs for tails. I’ve even brought it up with staff and have been told the reason you don’t shift them around is because “That’s our nano tank… but we’ll keep an eye on them…”. Went in today and there were several sparkling gouramis with no tails, a scarlet badis with no tail, and a betta fish swimming for their life. Just move the other fish out and keep the pea puffers by themselves. I only cruise through to check out their betta stock once a month or so, but won’t be spending money at this specific location anymore. Will stick to the Milwaukee location and local fish stores from now on.

Good variety of pet supplies. They also have fish, small animals (hamsters, guinea pigs, etc.) And reptile that you can purchase there. A little more expensive than Walmart but way better selection. We even bought a uromastyx there...they called us when they got one in and we grabbed it!

If I had the money I'd sue this company (again since they've been sued before) for selling sick, injured and dying animals. They need to be investigated. Every animal I've bought or someone I knew who bought animals from them have died from within the first week for the first month of having the animal. I got a corn snake about a month ago and it was ok for a week to two and then refused to eat after that and died. Come to find out, Petco sells them before theyre even ready to be sold. Theyre too young and need to meet certain criteria to be able to be a sold. These snakes do not meet the criteria yet the company does not care.

Had a great experience getting son setup to take on a hamster. The staff was excellent in helping us purchase the right things, but not overselling useless items. Also, they took the time to explain hamster needs and concerns. Would heavily recommend this location and staff for your small animal needs.

Apparently petco uses doordash drivers who are challenged when it comes to technology. Ordered a gate ro be delivered. First time says delivered to address on 14th Ave north rather than 14th Ave South. They re did the order. New order delivered to 14th Ave north again. Now refusing to cancel order since doordash map clearly shows wrong door and wrong place on what looks like Google maps.If I could give 0 stars I would. I asked them to cancel the order and I would just pick it up at the store since apparently the driver can't tell north from south.Terrible service. While I don't blame them for doordash messing up they could at least look at the evidenceNever going there again

Took my 2 boys there for the Veterinarian cause they needed rabies shots....The Veterinarian and her 2 assistance were nice and knowledgeable!!!!!...plus I liked the $80 price for both rather than the nearly $75 each from other Veterinarians...Had a great experience.

Came in at opening with new puppy. The groomer was so nice to have offered a temporary leash while in the store.I would give a 5 star rating but prices are ridiculous. And I do know prices are going up everywhere but I found better prices on accessories, toys and food elsewhere. I will be returning the collar I bought, as I got a collar and leash of better quality elsewhere fir the same price.

AVOID BUYING ANYTHING FROM THEIR SALTWATER TANKS… Alot of dead fish in the tanks. I bought a few saltwater crabs from this location. I checked the water from Petco when I was acclimating and introducing the new invertebrates to my aquarium. The salinity was super low. One of the more expensive crabs died. Even though the website says that they offer refunds on aquatic life, they do not refund saltwater life. One of their Boise staff mentioned that their saltwater life is “pulled from the reef” and insinuated that I should’ve just expected them to be extra sensitive to any changes. Lesson learned. Only buy saltwater life from the specialty shops (that source from breeders that use captive bred aquatics) and avoid buying anything living from Petco.To add. A couple of the Boise and Nampa staff were argumentative when I brought up the issues with salinity and the return policy that is printed on the back of the receipt and the website.
