Love this store. Awesome knowledgeable employees and the freshest products. They take great care of their animals. They have good prices and rewards. Four stars only because I had one bad experience here. It was just due to lack of knowledge and the brand changing their ingredients so it’s understandable. It lead us to finding the right food for our pet so in the end it was good. I will always go out of my way to come here rather than PetCo.

It's always a joy to go in and see the store cat, Oreo! They had exactly what I needed and the size of the store makes it so easy to find stuff. I've been coming here for years for all sorts of cat-related items, and their selection of toys and treats in particular is perfect.

My daughter is 11 and BEGS me to take her as often as I am willing. Everytime we go she wants a new pet or tank, that's the only downfall. All the staff are awesome, helpful, and knowledgeable. The prices are as good or better than the big box stores and this is a locally owned store so all the better! It's clean and has everything you could ever want for every critter or tank imaginable! Go and check it out even if you don't plan on buying anything!

Pretty inconvenient hours for the traditional 8-5 worker. However, it’s worth it if you can go. They are much more knowledgeable than Petco, stock a wide variety of products, have better prices, and treat the reptiles and frogs they sell better than Petco. A great store, worth supporting. I only wish they had more open hours!

The best purchase I've ever made was from here. I bought a defective quaker parrot from here- the defect was silliness and attitude. I highly recommend anyone who is up to a challenge to buy a parrot from here. It was the best problem I've ever had!

Always a great experience here, they have a very wide variety of things for lots of pets. They were very helpful picking out new food for my puppy and they even remember who she is! The staff seems to really know what they're doing (they all have pets too) and they have a fantastic guarantee that if a certain food doesn't sit well, they will give your money back and donate the rest of the bag to the shelter. The prices are very good too, they're lower than chewy usually and within about $10 a month (for our small dog) of buying the cheap junk food at Walmart. I'm happy to spend a little extra to get high quality food from a great local business.

They always have bright eyed, healthy, and active rodents to choose from. I have personally purchased a few hamsters (of different breeds) from them, and each was very friendly, sweet and well behaved. The staff has spend numerous hours with me over the course of my patronage finding the perfect animal. They have great quality fish and other aquatic animals that are good prices and amazing quality. The staff is always incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and will help you get exactly what you need. They are willing to order things in for you if they don't have them in stock, and keep a wide selection of products. They also keep store cats, which are very sweet.

When I moved here I had my cat on nulo and would always have to go to PetSmart in order to buy it back home I was so happy to hear that pets are people too carry this brand so I never had to switch my cat. Staff is very well acknowledged and provide the best service. I sometimes would come here on my day off to spend time with the store cat Oreo

Very friendly staff and awesome store complete with store cats! Very happy birds and rodents for sale with clean cages. Anything they don't have they can order, but their selection is pretty good as is. They carry lots of brands of grain free pet foods. Prices are great for a shop their size.

Cool place and lots of great variety for all different kinds of animals. Used to be just a tiny little store in the Rosaures parking lot back in the day. Now it's a huge store and all fancy, it's not their fault, the 90s were a cooler time. But they are a pretty awesome local staple here.

I don't write many reviews, but I feel pretty strongly about this one. I've been going to Pets Are People Too since I moved to Moscow back in the 90's. Their location has changed, but the ownership hasn't. Jim and Vera have always been helpful to me, and you can tell that they genuinely love animals. And...they have the best store cats ever!More recently, I've gotten back in to fish after being away for 10 years. I had no idea that Chris was such a fish guru. He has been nothing short of amazing. He knows fish beyond what I even thought was possible. He always offers sound advice, even when it isn't the answer you want to hear. He has probably 'not sold me fish' more than he has 'sold me fish'...all because he wants the fish to have a quality life, and be compatible with any existing tank mates at home. His recommendations are gold. He will be honest about the tank size, filtration, and feeding requirements. And if you want a particular fish, he would be the first person I would ask about what equipment to put in place before bringing it home.Their prices may be higher than other big-box stores, but they also carry much higher quality items, and have a knowledgeable staff. For me, that makes any additional cost well worth it.

The staff here are always helpful, kind, and very knowledgeable. We've purchased 6 pets from this shop and stop by with follow-up questions. They give hands-on tips and know their stuff. They take good care of their resident animals, and the environment is clean, classy and happy. I like this much more than the corporation box store.

I've shopped at Pets Are People Too since their first location, which was across the street from the original A&W. The owners are just great! The staff are usually knowledgeable, there's always plenty of choices, and, they're honest when you ask for advice! I couldn't be happier that we have them as a resource in our area! I highly recommend shopping there for all your pet needs!

Don't shop here. They are very rude. Bad customer service. They changed the number of bags before getting one free. While I was on my free bag. It was less than a month between. They also acted like we were insane to think it was the 11th bag free. They didn't explain the change. They were so rude about it. I wanted to support local shops but quess I'll get my dog food else where. The old guy is the worst too, so rude. Not the first time to receive bad customer service.Update: they still are rude and have bad customer service

This place has just about everything your pet will love. They also have two very mellow store cats. Yes, these cats live in the store and get to test run everything. The employees will tell you what is and isn't well liked by these cats.

This is hands down the best pet store in a hundred miles! Local family owned buissiness, where the staff are well trained, informative, and very kind. Often your are speaking to one of the owners or their family and you wouldn't even know it. This place is AWESOME!

I usually love to support small, local businesses. I loved the selection of fish sold here and the resident cats, so started to go regularly. However, most of the staff is rude and unhelpful. I took some bad advice from a young woman there, and it ended up killing one of my bettas (should've researched it myself!) The same young woman regurgitates inaccurate information about their aquarium species all day long.When I was being helped by one of the older women that works there and tried to strike up friendly conversation, she made it clear she was disinterested by cutting me off with "well if you need anymore help, find me" and disappearing. I've only had a positive experience with a couple of employees there - the rest are shameless in giving you awkward stares and not even attempting to be friendly. The Pullman store is much nicer, and I drive there everytime I need anything.Edited 6/12/16 to reflect updates in how the store operates now. Much more customer-friendly now.
