In Moscow from out of state, my assignment was meat. Not being a huge fan of turkey, I picked up this bad boy for our family Thanksgiving feast. I buy local as much as I can, and now I have a go-to when I’m here with my family.Doing business was a pleasure, remember to reserve your bigger cuts ahead of time around holidays. I did, everything went perfectly.The beef quality was outstanding. Nice marble, perfect amount of cap, it was one of the best primes I have cooked. Low, slow, reverse seared and enjoyed!

The butcher was kind and helpful when I asked about organs for my cat. Prices are good and I will definitely be back again.

As a military vet i am super frustrated with this “butcher”. I called Friday last week to inquire about what items they had in-stock as i have a service animal who i was trying to find organs and things for. When i spoke with a rep on Friday i asked if they carried green tripe, chicken liver, turkey necks, chicken quarters or any animal organs. It was confirmed by their rep they had these items. I went it after the weekend to look in person on what they have and they had nothing that i was asking about. When i spoke with the rep over the counter they said they have a “dog food” with ground organs but they are out. I was told they carried NOTHING from what i asked. This “butcher” mainly cuts the animals up but doesn't keep consistent stock of items they vary by week apparently. Unless you want one of the 4 overprices boxes or you have an animals needed butchering then you are SOL. Wasted my time and staff gave false info over phone.

My first visit was revelatory. The butcher will pick steaks and cut them to your desired thickness - and it's just about the finest quality meat I've ever seen. Also - fantastic beef jerky - Homemade sausages - It's a paradise for carnivores!

The quality of meat is solid, but their customer service/follow up is non-existent.I've attempted to find out about meat packages for the last month, via email and multiple phone calls, including leaving voicemails.No response whatsoever. Extremely poor customer service, which is disappointing. Their follow up in the past used to be on point. Not anymore. Not sure what's up but, but it's leaving me looking for a new meat supplier, after doing business with C&L for right around a decade.

C&L Locker did a special order for us. The U of I's Civil & Environmental Engineering Department needed pulled chicken for our annual fall BBQ, something they don't really do. However, they smoked 25 lb of boneless skinless chicken breast for us. It was just scrumptious, tender and exquisitely flavorful! We will use them every year for our event. Very satisfied with the friendly and professional service, and the food was out of this world. Highly recommended!!

I ordered a smoked turkey for my husband’s birthday and it was out of this world! Everyone loved it. Just ordered a second one! I’ve never tasted anything as delicious. Such a professional and kind business to work with.

I started having them process my elk and deer last year and am very satisfied with the cuts and the ground Burger, this year I had breakfast sausage and summer sausage made from are whitetails and just tried the summer sausage and it's excellent. Can't wait to get the pepperoni sticks in a few weeks. Would highly recommend to have them process your elk or deer. They are very friendly people and great to deal with.

Most lambs have four legs, mine had two, and inspite of a long telephone conversation about what cuts and bones I wanted, many of the internal organs and bones that I asked for were not in my box. Also, the check that I gave them was stolen and my bank account broken into which caused me endless hours of telephone explanations, and repeat payments.well the meat is fabulous and after some research I find it is not the owner who has the problem, and it has been taken care of, so the review changes to three stars -

They have really good cuts of meat they have a variety of different meat besides you know the regular cow chicken pork know they got fish and bison and other other meats turkeys pepperoni sticks smoked meat and the prices are not bad either
