A beautiful sunny Sunday night and we chose the shack before we went for a dip in the springs. Our order came out quick and we tucked in while enjoying the laid back vibe of the space and crispy freshness of what we were served. Fried green beans and the cheese curds were a highlight, the kids were super happy with the stacked fries and ham on Swiss sammie. Highly recommend a stop at the shack!Kid-friendliness: the grass is a great spot for kids to burn around, they have a cute kids menu too.Wheelchair accessibility: no curbs and flexible seating

"5/5 stars! Stopped by The Shack in Lava Hot Springs and was blown away by the delicious food! The menu options looked amazing, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The food exceeded my expectations! I had the breakfast sanwitch - it was cooked to perfection and full of flavor. Highly recommend The Shack for a tasty meal in a cozy atmosphere. Our new favorite for coffee and breakfast! We will be checking out the hotdogs next time we are in town. Hearty breakfast burritos for a very reasonable price, good coffee and quick service. They say “all to go menu” but there are some benches and tables in a patio area if you want to sit and people/dog watch. We ate there 3 times in one weekend. Clean place, quick easy food to grab between Lava adventures.* Rotating menu of specials and they said they were growing their menu all the time.

Awesome owners and awesome staff with amazing food and drinks! It is outdoor seating, perfect for those warmer days when you just want to be outside! They have a little pavilion, a decent sized grassy area, and a little stage. Highly recommend! Sometimes they have karaoke with some awesome kjs on the weekends too or might have some local artist play on the stage!Kid-friendliness: A nice grassy area they can run around at (if there's no events happening there that is)

We came here for breakfast this morning. I had a breakfast burrito and my husband had a plain bagel with cream cheese. The burrito is MASSIVE! So yummy. Crunch greasy hash brown patty’s too. Prices are fair. Staff is kind and courteous. Food and coffee was great. Loved their porch and chairs. It was a beautiful day and we got to eat out in the sun.Kid-friendliness: Have a kid menu!

Gave 3 stars because service was extremely slow (waited 40 minutes) and their specials that were advertised they didn't have. If you're going to say the special is a guacamole burger and a turkey bacon sandwich, then make sure you have those ingredients, a lot of it! We were there at 12:15, early enough for the lunch rush and they were already out of avocados and guacamole. So that was disappointing. They only offer chips as a side to go with your burger. I also ordered a flavored soda, itcwas very, very disappointing. It was supposed to have coconut cream in it, there wasn't. It's a nice little place and nice to have a change from the other restaurants in town but I left disappointed.

Waited 15 minutes to order (being at the window, not waiting in a line), and then waited 30 minutes for a couple hot dogs and a burger. So we waited 45 minutes for what appears as fast food. The staff working was friendly and appeared busy the whole time so I’m not sure what the hold up was but not worth the wait. Seating area also felt crowded, the few tables were all very close together all in close bunches.

This place is SO good! My husband and I have come to Lava twice for our wedding anniversary and this was the first time having The Shack and I guarantee it will not be our last. The mushroom and swiss was amazing and so was the hot dog. The fries are golden and crispy and the specialty soda was delicious. The people were really nice and the outside seating was cute and shady. The prices were also very reasonable, it probably costs more to go to Wendy's or McDonald's and get a full meal, than it does to have something from here thats high quality and doesnt give me a tummy ache lol. 10/10 totally recommend

I ordered a hot beef and cheddar sandwich on 6/30/23 and whoever made it mixed up the cheese and mustard. There was no cheese on my sandwich (I love cheese, this is why I ordered it). Instead, there was mustard. I hate mustard. Majorly disappointed, ruined it for me.The chili cheese fries were good though. At least they put cheese on those.

Ordered food, was told it would be 40 minutes. The rest of our party got their food around that time, 10 minutes after they got their food I went to the window and was told our food was coming right up. Another 15 minutes after that I was called to the window to be told our food was never started. I was offered a refund, or they could start our order at that time. I chose a refund and the refund was 7 dollars short.. horrible service.

We ordered the supreme snack pizza, fries, and breakfast burrito. They got the pizza order wrong and gave us cheese instead. The pizza crust was like cardboard and there was no taste. Just terrible. The burrito was inundated with pepper that it made it very hard to eat. The only redeeming quality was the fries. Those were decent. But overall was a very poor experience.

Ordered food at The Shack and brought it across the street to the wagon wheel lounge to hang and eat there. We got the deluxe nachos and the loaded beef fries … perfect food for 9 pm on a Friday post hot springs! The gal who helped us at the Shack saw us eating in the wagon wheel and stopped by our table to ask us how everything was- so sweet! Thanks for going above and beyond!

I ordered the deluxe nachos. They were very salty and the chicken chunks were way too big. My husband ordered me an Italian soda as well and there was way too much syrup in it. I did love the concept of The Shack though, I really enjoyed getting my food and eating outside in their beautiful lawn area.

I've never had a better Monte Crisco sandwich. The french toast was fluffy perfect. The meat, cheese, and sauce were gooey goodness. The combination of flavors was spot-on-delicious!

Some of the worst coffee I have ever had with coffee rines in the coffee! The breakfast sand-which was god awful with raw bacon, so gross! The bacon should be fully cooked unless told other wise, $18 thrown in the garbage, wish I would of got a refund!
