Super cute little hippie store with small town vibes! Lots of cool incense, holders and other aromatics. Really cool tapestries and sculptures too. Great place to find cool stones, tarot cards, decorations, etc. Very much like a cool gift shop. Lots of cool trinkets to be found! Definitely stopping by again next time we roll through town!

Cool and fun stuff in there but had a terrible experience with the owner/employees. Purchased some jewelry that didn't hold up well shortly after buying it and went to return it. I'm from out of town so I called to see if returns were possible. The first day the calls went straight to voicemail and the messages were full. After that I finally got a hold of them and they said that I could make a return. Drive into lava within store hours and the door is locked but the open sign is still on. There was no sign saying where they were or anything. Waited an hour and still nothing. The counter service is a joke.

I was drawn in by a shirt I saw in the window. When I checked the price it was $60 which I thought was a little high priced. All the clothing was so expensive so I decided to look some up online. I found that they are charging 3-4x the value of some of the clothing. I get Lava is a tourist town and the shops have higher prices, but 3-4x the original price doesn’t seem right to me. The store offered some other really interesting items, but I had to leave before I was done browsing because the smell of incense was very strong. Also the staff wasn’t very friendly, we were not greeted upon entry, exit or even browsing within the vicinity of the worker.

This used to be my favorite store in Lava but the last few times that I have been up there, I have not purchased anything because it's so overpriced. They still have a lot of nice stuff but the prices are way too high so I have been spending my money at some of the other gift shops.

great store, i really like it!! things there are a bit pricey but in my eyes they’re worth it. good store to go bankrupt!!!! but like i said, its very worth it. employees are very nice and have good energy:)

A fun stop. I think this is my sister's favorite spot for trinkets. The clerks are friendly, I have a friend who is Wiccan so I am glad to have a store that has gifts that she enjoys. I always like to read a thought for the day on the counter before we leave the store.

We absolutely loved coming here. The ladies were so knowledgeable. They had lots of really gorgeous rings and the prices weren’t bad at all. But, we really loved the atmosphere. My son has autism and they were nothing but patient and full of compassion. It was such a breath of fresh air.

We took our kids here (ages 15, 14, 13, & 7) to buy some souvenirs from Lava Hot Springs. They all found quite a few things they wanted. It was a really neat shop and the lady working there was great. I grabbed the wrong gem card (the $5.99 instead of $0.99), and instead of letting it go and charging me the higher amount, she pointed it out. I appreciated her honesty! If we’re ever back in Lava, we’ll visit this shop.

Purple Moon was expanding when we visited so it was a little disorganized, but I'm excited to see what they do with their new space. It's a cute little tourist shop with all the things you would expect, plus a few extra delights. There are agate and geode pieces at many price points, fossils, t shirts, hoodies, bags, a small section of decorative knives and swords, and outside is the scrap metal art yard. They had some of the most darling things back there! Certainly worth strolling through on your afternoon walk through town.

While passing through Lava my fiancé and I stopped in the shop. He's been coming here since he was a child. I was greeted pleasantly and told to make myself at home. I found a gorgeous rainbow moonstone ring that fits perfectly on my ring finger. We had gotten engaged outside the hard rock casino in Sioux City where we're from. We wanted to wait until the right ring came into our lives. I'm very happy with my purchase. I also bought some other crystals I found very reasonably priced. It's important to note that buying from a small shop with a very knowledgeable shop owner will run a little higher than prices found online. But it's my opinion that's the best and only way to do it. I very much look forward to coming back.

This gem shop is great. Staff were very friendly and inviting. I purchased little vials filled with pure gold, pure silver, and pure copper, as well as a wooden ring, pyrite and aquamarine. Will visit again!

Purple Moon is a classic and has been around long before new age recently became trendy again. It’s one of my favorite places to look around at in Lava, and I’ve bought several pretties from there. The prices of things are high compared to similar items from similar stores, this is probably due to the fact that Lava is a resort town and tourists often don’t know or care about the markup. I also think the shop could use some cleaning and TLC, the vibe of it is off.

Eh. It's not a bad little shop, but I wasn't particularly impressed. It's one of those new-age type shops that has a lot of incense and grossly overcharges for crystals because they're "magic." They also have a bunch of jewelry (some of it unique, a lot of it I've seen in bulk online) as well as an odd mishmash of souvenirs I swear I've seen repeated several times in places like Florida and the Bahamas. Weird.

My friends and I went in and started getting followed almost immediately. Everything that we did was being watched. One lady pretended to be on the phone while staring directly at us and following us everywhere not once talking into the phone, the whole time we were in the store. She wasn’t even 5 feet away from us. We ended up leaving the store feeling creeped out, uncomfortable, and unwelcomed.

Wow! We thoroughly enjoyed all of the gifts at this shop. It smelled wonderful, was cutely decorated and the gal at the register was enjoyable to talk to and knowledgeable about all of the items she had! Very unique gift ideas!

Bought an overpriced $40 bracelet that claimed to be made of Shungite. Accidentally scraped the bracelet on something to reveal it’s just painted plastic. Overpriced for a bracelet if it was real, just a scam for something that’s fake.
