Holy hotness! The first pool is HAWT so hot!!The facility was clean, plenty of private stalls to change, nice water filling station (you'll need it) and seating galore in each of the three pools. Pool 1 is 112° second is 105-110° and the third was 102°.Little spots for the kids to bugger around in the 102° pool, a manageable temp for them.Have Fun!

This was a very fun hot springs to visit. There are multiple pools, each with a different degree in temperature. The price on the weekends is $12 for adults. The price during the week is $8 for adults. They have lockers, but unfortunately it costs 50¢ to actually lock. They have a change machine, so be sure to have some dollar bills handy otherwise you’ll have $4.50 in quarters. There are showers and a changing room for both genders. Parking is across the street or on the street. If you park on the street use your ebrake and turn your wheels to the curb. Overall, I do see me coming back, but during the week when it’s cheaper.

This place is fantastic. Strong recommend. Lava Hot Springs World Famous Hot SpringsBubbling out of natural underground springs, the hot water is laden with minerals, but has no sulfur odor. Over 2.5 million gallons a day flow through the hot springs and are diverted into the Portneuf River keeping the springs ever changing and clean. The spring's temperatures range from approximately 102˚ F to 112˚ F degrees. Our hot pools have a snow melt system in the deck around them, a cold water deck shower and canopies to block the sun or rain.FeaturesOpen 363 Days A Year!Pure all natural hot spring Mineral WaterNo chemicals, no sulfur, no odorNatural water temperature 102˚ F to 112˚ FFive outdoor gravel or rock bottom poolsDressing rooms, showers, restrooms and coin operated lockersWarning - Use of the hot pools by children under two (2) years of age is not recommended. This is a gem of Hot Springs. Very reasonable cost and all pools are clearly marked with the temperature. All natural hot mineral water flows in and out of the pools. There's sunscreen over the lower ones but the hottest is open to the sky. A quiet location with well maintained bathrooms and showers. Lockers are available for $1. Towels and swimsuits are available to rent; although we had our own. It's operated by a Nonprofit and the money benefits the town. You enter once and stay, there is no going back and forth to your vehicle. Two pools,at 105° have jets for really relaxing sore muscles. There's places to sit and relax while your children are in the coolest pool. The grounds are planted with an assortment of flowers and fantasy figurines are hiding among them.

This hot spring is well maintained. There are multiple pools, most well shaded with awnings, with a variety of temperatures - clearly marked. There are good sized changing and showering areas. The employees are friendly and helpful. It was $10 with no reentry. We would return here.

We enjoyed our stay at the Blue Jay 💙 lava hot springs is awesome . I wish they enforced rules with parents allowing their babies and toddlers being in the pools!Seriously crazy how ignorant people are. 106 and 110 degree water, and people have their kid's in it!

BEST HOT SPRINGS IN THE WORLD.100% natural chemical free soak.Grew up here, soak all the time, and it never gets old. Pools Range from 102-115 (approx) Don't be afraid to soak in the rain and snow. It's a very relaxing experience, and I highly recommend soaking here. The staff is always so kind, and the pools are the cleanest I've ever been to out of hundreds of pools and hot springs. There are cooler kid friendly pools. However, my little guy soaks in all of em and has a blast.Create a memory today! You won't regret it.To avoid soaking with a crowd, go early in the mornings, sometimes dinner hour works out well. Tourist season is here in Lava, soaking on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, be prepared for a crowd. 👍🏻Open from 9 AM -10 PM during winter$8 per adult Mon-Thurs$10 Fri-SunBring an empty water bottle. They have filtered water stations and man choices of drinks and ice cream as well as novelties in the shop.

I was just in Thermopolis so I figured I'd try the Hot Springs here too. There is a nominal entrance fee. Bathrooms, showers and lockers. Various pools at different temperatures. Most people were in the coolest of them which I believe is between 102°-105°. They go up to I think 116°. I felt a bit like Goldilocks finding out which one I liked best. I settled on the small pool at 105° and stayed there for 15-20 mins and then moved to the larger cooler pool for a few. Before I left I did dip in the hottest of the pools just for a couple minutes. Couldn't do that for too long. All felt very nice and relaxing though. Definitely worth it.

Visited on a Saturday. Was there from 6pm-8 pm and it was crowded. Two hours was more than enough for me. The pools have different temperatures. The lowest temperature was 102 degrees and it was perfect. Make sure you take plenty of water. I paid $12 and there was no time limit. Very clean facility with bathrooms and changing rooms. I’ve been to Crystal Hot Springs in Utah and have to say that Lava Hot Springs is better.

May 19 2023 - 10 AM. Uncrowded blissful body soaking. We started at the cool pool 104° and worked our way hotter in the jet pools, then onward to more heat and enhanced relaxation. Two hours and we were done. The only thing different I would recommend is to do it After a long day - not before it. That said, even before hours of driving is well worth it. Senior discount - but no in-and-out privileges.

We found the hot springs very well organized and clearly labeled on water temps. The ramps into each pool allowed everyone in our group to adjust to water temps (toddler to senior). The 112F pool has the best shade on the grounds. After soaking we toured the secret garden. It seems to be the same property but only accessible from a path to the east and up the hill behind the historical sign. The garden was very serene and provided plenty of spots to sit and escape the heat. There's a small natural lava cave along the trail. About 2ft high, so be careful to watch your head when in and exciting.

This is a place our family makes several trips to every year. The hot springs has been a fun tradition. This makes for a easy, laid back and relaxing vacation. The reason for 2 star review is because the changes and rules over the past several years have gotten a little obnoxious and the cost for entry continues to increase. They are really strict about banning "outside drinks" including water. Today we waited in line while the staff searched every bag of every patron. Re-usable water bottles had to be dumped out prior to entry. It makes no sense. In the past, your entry was valid all day, that is no longer the case. We used to soak a little in the morning, head out to hit one of the local restaurants, then return to soak in the evening. That's not an option anymore which makes enjoying the springs with hungry kids a lot harder than it used to be. The cost of entry for a family is high enough now that it would be hard to justify paying twice so you soak until the kids get hungry and leave. Maybe that's exactly what the owners want.

Place was awesome, soaked for about an hour and 10 minutes. Payed $10 a person for unlimited time as long as we didn’t leave the pools.Parking spot is right across the road and you just walk down to the pools pay for your entrance and time for a good soak.Friendly staff, and very family friendly environment. Pools from warm to pretty hot. Highly recommend for the price.

I got to the pools around 8 pm on a Sunday. I was able to find a quiet area to relax and sink into the clear water. The biggest pools have a gravel bottom. The facilities seemed well maintained and the staff seemed friendly. The last time I was here it was much busier. Pick your time wisely. Tonight I enjoyed a few quiet conversations and stared at the stars. I think I'll stay in town for a few days next time I visit.

One of my all time favorite places in Idaho. Moved away years ago and have yet to find a better hot spring/spa. Nice changing rooms, thermally heated concrete walkways, no sulphur smell, and it's not a generic blue pool with zero atmosphere. The pools have pea gravel floors and stone sides and it all tastefully blends with the rugged landscape and surrounding mountains.

Does it count if I've been soaking here since I was a little kid? It's still a wonderfully relaxing activity. The staff were friendly (always get a Creamie ice cream), locker room was clean and the giant lockers outside will hold a Honda Civic, well maybe not but they are big enough for all your stuff!Google how the springs stay naturally clean, and you will learn how 2.5 million gallons of water flow through daily.

We stopped by in in the summer, it was too hot to enjoy the mineral pools. These hot springs are hot, very hot and extremely hot. The hottest pool was empty the entire time we were there (around 5pm on a summer day) while the rest of the visitors all cramped in the coolest hot spring pool. It was fun to try, but for the price I wouldn't go again...unless it was in the dead of winter.
