The Chuckwagon is your typically western diner. They have all foods you’d expect and they are very reasonable. The food seemed a little on the bland, but they have salt and pepper and dipping sauces to jazz it up. I ordered the chicken fried steak and it was good, I was pleased it was made fresh and not frozen. My wife got an eggs Benedict. Parking is on the street and can be pretty limited. But we came around 10AM and it wasn’t bad to find a spot.

The burgers and scones here are excellent and flavorful. The buns they use are old-school and toasted. The sunshine burger was loaded, with a good amount of cheese and toppings. Portions are generous on sides as well, and that goes for most of the food served here. Cocktails were priced well and the drinks weren't watered down at all. We had a party of 7 and the food came promptly and was hot. The waitress was extremely friendly and helpful as well and made sure we were happy. The 3 star on service is due to the back of house missing additions to fries like cheese, removal of ingredients on burgers like onions or pickles for 3 of us, and a missing drink order for one of us in the group. All in all not a bad place for sure. Went back a second time the following day.Vegetarian options: Black bean burgers, salads, and some others available. Especially if you eat dairy.

Food was good, service was good. I personally didn’t like my sandwich, steak didn’t have seasoning, the sauce was watered down. And was just too plain. Also had fries as a appetizer and did not enjoy them due to how salty they were. But the Chicken Alfredo was top notch and really good. The bacon cheese potato soup was also very creamy and delicious.Hope to come again and give it another shot on their sandwich menu.Thanks guys.

OMG!! You have to stop here for sure it was the first time in a long time I felt like family when I traveled. The staff was amazing, and the atmosphere was so welcoming. Our waitress Chanteal was amazing! She made our experience even better. The gluten free bread was the best ever and the ribeye was cooked perfect. The drinks we had were fantastic! They had a special mix of two frozen drinks. The burger was epic and had great gloves and the portions are amazing for the price. I live when the staff make you feel like apart of a family and joke around and recommend things it makes for great customer service!

We had corned beef hash, scones, cinnamon rolls, green chili and loaded hashbrowns and everything was amazing, the green chili and scones were my favorite but definitely make sure to upgrade your hashbrowns to loaded as well!Parking: Good parking

Personally, I was excited to try this place; I had a friend who loved it last time he visited.But this time we did not feel welcomed at all. A few of the workers were kind but our server had an attitude. She took far too long for our drinks and yelled at us to check in from across the restaurant. It wasn’t packed at all. Things were tossed onto the table rudely. I’m not one to leave rude reviews. But I will not be coming back; this upset us severely

Just had dinner here last night. We ordered the grilled chicken with green peppers/mushrooms and fettuccine Alfredo. My dinner was delicious but my daughter’s Alfredo wasn’t. The sauce was runny like water. She had a few bites but wouldn’t finish it. We substituted the toast/bread for a scone and that was delicious as well.We wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and try them for breakfast. We ordered crepes. They were dry and the cream cheese they out inside was too thick. I love crepes and everywhere I have had them had a sauce on top, these did not. I asked for a strawberry jam hoping that would help, but it didn’t. I didn’t finish them. My daughters pancake, she liked that (other than it fell apart very easy). Ordered a scone as well, but that was never given to us. When we went to pay, I asked for that to be removed from my bill since we never received it and she kept saying that she was sure she brought it to us. In the end, they finally did take it off.Needless to say, for dinner we went to the 78 Main Street Restaurant.Parking: Only has street parking. If you’re staying at one of the few hotels, you’re better off walkingKid-friendliness: Kids are welcome here.

This is our favorite restaurant in Lava! The breakfast is always amazing, good coffee, love the scones, and the drinks are spectacular, my kids love them! They have a large menu of boutique sodas and lemonades, and they always come with special touches. My kids were so excited when their hot cocoa came with glittery topping!! The customer service is always so friendly and kind, we eat here multiple times on our Lava trips. ❤️

First real American diner experience as a foreigner, impressed with the menu size and range of options available. Friendly staff and family style atmosphere, the servers were constantly checking in and making sure everything was going well. We ordered the BBQ ranch burger and Western burger with friends and waffle fries sides, great portion size, served fresh and hot, exactly what I was craving. Would recommend to anyone stopping through Lava Springs, well worth the visit after a soak in the hot springs.

My partner and I came to eat lunch here while we stayed in Lava Hot Springs over valentine’s day. The waitress and staff were super nice and friendly but our food just wasn’t very good! We both ordered a type of chicken sandwich, and the chicken was HUGE, it didn’t even fit in the bun. The breading was separating from the meat and had an odd slimy texture to it. It was also very bland despite having a lot of toppings. The drinks we ordered were both canned, not freshly mixed in house- and were not very good either. It felt like drinking perfume. The saving grace of our lunch was the waffle fries! They were so yummy! Unfortunately that’s the only good thing I can say about our food. :( I’m sure the other food is great but do not get a chicken sandwich!!

Went for lunch on a Saturday and they were quicker than I'd expected! The drinks they offer in the waiting area are a brilliant idea, our coffees were great. Food came out at a steady pace, everything was hot and just as ordered! No complaints, great place to grab some good old diner grub if you're in town!Kid-friendliness: My 4-year-olds loved their kids meals!

Very friendly and quaint restaurant, homely.I ordered the mini chicken fried steak -this thing was not mini, it was regular size which surprised me but I enjoyed it! The flavor in the white gravy, mash potatoes, and breading on the chicken fried steak was DEEEEELICIOUS and to top it off, the scone was hella YUMMY with butter drizzling and resting to be scooped up. YUM!!

Totally one of my favorite places for a scone by far! The staff is welcoming and friendly, They treat you like family I have been going to this restaurant since I was 4 years old the scone tastes like I always remember it..! So don't forget to get a scone with your next order. Also check out the list of delicious burgers I recommend them all!

4.5 stars: Perfect place after a day of mineral bath soaking and swimming 🏊‍♀️We were all pretty hungry when we got here and the food just hit the spot from the salads and burgers to the tacos and desserts. The sweet potato fries were nice and crispy and the burgers were flavorful. They were sometimes really messy. The service was great and we appreciated how they accommodated our large (6 adults and 6 kids) without an issue. The pies and desserts were a nice bonus! Make sure to order a sweet treat!Highly recommend if you're heading to Lava for a soak in the mineral springs.
