I took my 4 young kids (ages 9 months, 7, 10 and 13) here for breakfast. It was very affordable and my kids were pleased. The waitress was extremely attentive and made them feel special. The kids enjoyed the enormous fluffy pancakes and the strawberries were edible although not sweet/ripe. Unfortunately the "omelet" was a watery scramble. You need to heat/cook the veggies before placing them in an omelet and an omelet is different than a scramble... The restaurant was cleaner than other restaurants in town so I appreciated that. Overall it's worth going to especially if you have kids.Kid-friendliness: Highchairs available, drinks with lids, kids menu, friendly wait staff

We wanted to try something a little different since we visit this town quite often and always eat at the same locations. We decided to try this restaurant today for dinner. Lindsay was our server. I had the Malibu chicken burger without the bun the chicken was a tad dry, but other than that it was delicious, my daughter had the bacon and cheese burger meal and the patty was flavored and so delicious. We liked their french fries. We will definitely try this place again as I would love to try them for breakfast next time.Parking: They have a very small parking lot on the side of the building, as well as street parkingKid-friendliness: Yes, kids are allowed here. They do have a kids menu.

These guys are WAY too proud of their food for the price they’re asking. It tasted like a gas station burger at best and charged nearly $18 for it. I’m fairly positive most of it was frozen food that was just heated up in the back as well. 😐 if I had known that, I would have saved my money and gone to Wendy’s. I enjoy their burgers more anyway. And I hope you like burgers because that’s about half the menu with not much variety or options. We actually saw a couple sit, take a look st the menu, and leave because it was so disappointing and I wished we would have done the same.Service was also so slow. I’m pretty sure they had one waitress, one hostess, and one cook for the entire restaurant. We waited over an hour to eat and the restaurant didn’t have a wait line and really didn’t seem that busy.The only reason this wasn’t a one star review was because our waitress was extremely nice and despite the service being so slow she did make sure our drinks were filled and we got everything we asked for (besides the food) in a quick manner.We won’t be returning and won’t be recommending this place to anyone.

We ate breakfast here and the kids are already planning to get omelets when we come back next year. The two that ordered omelets said it’s the best they’d ever had. For the record, one had never eaten an omelet before. 😂 The other two kids ordered a stack of pancakes to share and still couldn’t finish. The gravy was amazing and the Bloody Mary was out of this world.Side note: the kids color page is a scratch off with no crayons needed, which is awesome in theory, but be prepared for the ‘nails on a chalkboard’ noise when they use a plastic spoon to scratch the colors.

We come here every time we hit up Lava, this is the first time we’ve come for breakfast, which was so good! Nicole took great care of us and was great to work around our odd requests and I loved that they had a gluten free toast option! We went here for breakfast and for dinner the same day. It’s that good! Home style and delicious. Staff is friendly too.I had French toast with eggs for breakfast. That was the perfect size for a medium to small apetit. The French toast was yummy and you get real maple syrup. The person I was eating with had a southwest omelet was so good and those potatoes were great. It even came with avocado.For dinner I recommend the monthly special burger. The beast burger is great. I also liked the huckleberry heffiwisen. It was a subtle huckleberry and tasted great

Our go-to spot in lava hot springs. We always sit at the bar. Meghan is the best server! This is definitely not the place for you if you're in a hurry. The food does take a bit to come out, but it's worth it. Huge portions, good quality, great prices. We really enjoyed the BLT and the turkey sandwich. Bacon is thick cut and good quality. Really good gravy. I love that they offer pumpernickel bread, so rare to see that.They open at 8am and do serve alcohol at that time.Really good house wine for $5 and huge pours!! The overall wine selection is very good! I hope they continue to have champagne other than Cooks or Andre.

This is a great restaurant! The service was wonderful and we were able to be sat very quickly with a party of 2.We loved the Hawaiian burger and the Grilled Salmon BLT. They were very juicy and flavorful. I didn't like the salad as much only because it had a lot of cheese (I'm not much of a cheese person). Otherwise, the greens and the balsamic dressing were light and perfect. Our server also recommended dessert, so we had a slice of cheesecake with raspberry sauce. Very delicious and decadent! I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area.

The food here is decent but not what you would expect. Sources here are very good on the salad and for the pancakes and waffle. The sweet potato fries were good and the fry sauce was average. The waffle was not a Belgium waffle as it was lacking in size and was not very crispy. Pancakes were good and the 78 burger was good but the side veggies were not the freshes. The buffalo chicken was good but the chicken was a little small to bun size.

Pick up order, ready on time. Friendly service even when they were super busy and fresh tasty food. Turkey club with steamed veggies, hamburger with fries and side salad. The ranch is awesome. May eat here every day during our lava stay.

So the place was better than some of the other fine dining in the area, but could still use some small tweaks to get 5 stars.First, be reared to wait. We came with a party of 8. Unfortunately the large table that could seat us had 4 people at it. Another was filled with dishes. It took nearly 45 minutes before the could clear the table of dishes so we could sit down to eat. (I'm still not sure why they couldn't push tables together so we could sit down sooner. There were a number of open tables and they definitely had the room.)Sill, once we sat down our drink orders were taken quickly but it took nearly 20 more minutes to get them. We placed our order shortly afterwards. Appetizers were also served.We waited about 45 more minutes before our food arrived and Unfortunately it arrived cold. My steak was also overcooked. (I ordered medium and received one very well done.) They quickly offered to fix the steak. In the mean time I had the mashed potatoes and veggies. Although cold, they were very good.When I did get the stake back it was flavorful but more rare then medium.Others in our party had veggie burgers, which I was told was very good. Another one of their specialty salads which went over well. Another had chicken Alfredo, also went well.My kids were not a fan of the macaroni but they did finish off the appetizers in stead.I should point out that delays aside, the staff were friendly and helpful. Overall, if the delays could be reined in this could be a 5 star establishment. I will revisit at some point in the future and re-review.

So delicious! We stopped in for a quick bite and had great service. We were able to be in and out and did not feel that the wait time was taking too long at all. It was so fun and really cute small town diner vibes. My husband got the french dip sliders with sweet potato fries. I got the philly cheese steak sandwich with potato fries. DELICIOUS!

We ate twice at 78. Once for dinner and once for breakfast. Our dinner was fantastic - honey glazed salmon. It was perfectly cooked and so tasty!! The service was great!We returned two days later for breakfast. The inlets were huge and delicious! Thee country potatoes were crisp, but not over cooked. A lot of food!!We would gladly return. The service was excellent!!

Good homestyle food with generous portions. French fries are delicious. Onion rings cooked to perfection. Rings are cooked to perfection and don't come apart when you bite into them. My wife ordered the beer battered grilled cheese sandwich which we split. We both thought it was really good. A shout out to our server, Daniella. She was very friendly and helpful.

Love this place, door says closed 9 on Sundays and she says closed at 8. Flashing sign says open too. Pretty disappointed. At least provide an explanation. Otherwise seems like just flat out lazy.

OMG! Breakfast was awesome! We had the cream filled french toast and a veggie omelette. The French Toast was light and fluffy, not sure how they managed that with the cream. They were topped with fresh strawberries and whip cream. The omelette was expansive...lots of veggies and the eggs were light and airy. Coffee was top notch and never ending. Server was cheerful and prompt.. Great customer service. We were traveling thru and would definitely come back!!

We had a great time here. The building was clean and nicely updated, the service was excellent, the drinks were strong, and the food was delicious. I had the beer battered grilled cheese and a Moscow mule. The artichoke dip is phenomenal. Definitely a great place to stop.

This was our first trip to Lava and I was pleasantly surprised at our experience. Much better than expected.Overall, we ate at 3 places and we didnt find any top notch eateries in Lava Hot Springs. They are locally grown and with a hometown flair.The food was good, and the service was ok, but the whole town seemed a bit laissez faire, but that is what the town experience is for.We will be back.
