The River Lodge private cabin was a great place for us to stay the night while fishing at Island Park for my husband's birthday. We loved the pet-friendly atmosphere and the comfy beds. Even though there isn't an open front desk, they are quick to respond if you need anything. It was quiet, clean and came with everything we needed. I was a little surprised to see that the gas station/store has closed down and the small, quaint town I remember from years ago just isn't what it used to be, but the scenery was still beautiful and the fishing was great! We also enjoyed the Angler's Lodge Restaurant nearby.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon for West Yellowstone. It was a great hotel for what we were looking for. Only 40 minutes from West Yellowstone, multiple delicious restaurants nearby. Room was very clean. My husband and I were traveling with my dad and his sister so we needed 3 beds. Great price. Check in and out we're remote and owners were extremely friendly and helpful. They'll deliver anything you need straight to your room instead of needing to get it. Absolutely nothing but a wonderful experience.

River Lodge is very easy to find and the staff was VERY clear about how to get to my room, even including a map of the property so I knew exactly where to go. Checkin was extremely easy, as well as checkout. My only complaint, and it's fairly small, was that the noise from outside was very easy to hear. Ex people were talking in a normal volume outside the door and it sounded like they were in the motel with us, when the children screamed, it was like they were only a few feet from me, not to mention the traffic passing. Some sound proofing is definitely in order. Other than that minor complaint, the place was mostly clean. I did find some dirt/sand under the sheets on the mattress and there were some cosmetic things like an uneven floor (table wobbled and there was a divot in the floor on the far side of the bed that tripped my wife) and the grout in the bathroom was not very clean. However, it was not bad enough to really notice unless you're particular like I am. The bed was very comfortable, the TV service (Dish) was great, the WiFi was great. Overall 8/10. Would stay again and would recommend. Great price ($140/night)

The cabin was. small but really nice. reserved over phone. last minute. Dog friendly. Only reason I don't give 5 stars is behind the cabin looked like an appliance graveyard. Such a beautiful place should be cleaned up.Rooms: small but nice.

We stayed at River Lodge after researching other places close to the West, South, and East Entrances. We chose River Lodge because it was the perfect combination of close (30 minutes) and reasonably priced. It was clean, well kept and there were several extra thoughtful touches that made our stay excellent including decor, neighboring property, and easy check-in/check-out. Thanks for a great stay.

The most personable and friendly service I have every gotten from a lodging location. I received a text making sure I made it okay and that they turned the heat on for us! Also was told about restaurants around along with a nice warning about elk possibly in the road. It was just so thoughtful and I was blow away. Not to mention the cabins themselves. Such a wonderful cozy place to stay. Definitely would stay again!

My partner and I were on a road trip heading back home to Montana when our car broke down, right as we were pulling in to the River Lodge. We called their after hours number and talked to a wonderful women who informed us they were closed for the season but she called the lodge up the road and had someone come pick us up to stay there. We are ever so grateful for their kindness and a nice warm bed as we wait for a tow!

It was a nice stay. The cabin is very pretty, a bit snug but that may be because we chose a 2 bed cabin (not sure if there are single bed cabins here but that would've been a bit spacious considering all cabins are the same size). We arrived around 11.30 PM so it would've helped if the River Lodge sign was lit, easier to see it from the road. You need to devise a way for only the assigned guest to enter the cabin and not just leave it open for anyone else to be able to enter. We were assigned cabin 30. It was very annoying to find that someone else had already taken up cabin 30 when we arrived, after a long 4+ hrs drive from SLC, that too at 11.30 PM. Then we had to find an available cabin ourselves, which was cabin 31. Even though we informed the hosts that we're taking up cabin 31 we still had someone knock on the door the next night saying they were assigned cabin 31. All this confusion can be avoided if you just install a lockbox or something and give the code to the guest for the assigned cabin. Also note that this place is not all that close to the National Park as it may initially seem. After a long tiring day of hiking, sight seeing in the park the drive back to this lodge does seem a bit long.

Great place to stay & a very welcoming room awaited my family & I as we walked in. Remote check in/out without a problem. The water in the shower had no issues. The only thing that should be added is a hook for the back of the bathroom door to hang your towel before/after a shower. The property manager is attentive to any needs you may have throughout the day. Highly recommended.

Took a chance calling as I was driving thru Island Park, fully expecting them to be full but they had a room! Expecting it to be way out of my budget but NO! A great room, very comfy, HUGE TV, fridge,microwave, coffee maker & the most comfortable bed Ive slept in in years. I will definitley be back!

Also there was no lobby and not a single person in sight to assist. No one to check you in, no one to answer questions or help in any ways. It was all like walking into a complete strangers house and no one was home. A note was left on the table from a Cory & MaryBeth and contact phone number but when we call no one answered despite multiple attempt. No one ever returned our call. Our beds was never made. There was dirty towels all over the bathroom floor, spiders crawling on our bed, trash cans were full and never emptied. We left and book the nearest hotel we could find. We never got our refund despite countless phone calls and messages we left. We did however contacted our credit card company. I will Never go back or deal with this company ever again. Worst experience ever!

This is a beautiful location! The lodge is situated right across from Henry's Fork river, and only about 10 miles from Island Park reservoir. The rooms were clean, and the reservation process was smooth. There were only two things I didn't like. First, the rooms were small for the price. Second, there is no one working the lobby area at all.

Wish I had read the reviews more carefully before booking this....There was 0 communication w/ anyone in charge of this property. The owners text us their information and said to "call this number any time." Well, that was not the case. They did not respond to any calls or texts and there is no one at the property to speak with in-person. The cabin was extremely small for us (fam of 3), and our luggage did not fit at all. The room was freezing!!! 48 degrees when we walked in. When we saw the Queen Suite was still available online we sent texts and called to see about upgrading. No one replied, not even once. I text to let them know we would be leaving. They never attempted to make this right in any way at all. Everyone we encountered in the Yellowstone and Island Park area was so wonderful, not sure what happened here. We went down the road to Springhill Suites Marriot, beautiful, roomy hotel and omg, it was actually cheaper! I do not normally leave bad reviews, but we felt very scammed and like this place really could not have cared less, so I want others to be able to make an informed decision. I am in the process of trying to get a refund through Hotels.com, but unsure that will go anywhere.

The cabins are very cute and small. But had a few problems. When we checked in, they receptionist said the wifi is spotty. So we’d have to continue to connect and disconnect if we wanted to use it. Then the air conditioner didn’t work, so it was hard to cool the room off. The worst part was the shower, hardly any hot water! After five minutes it was already starting to get cold. Also their website says the cabins have fire places, ours did not. Lastly, it wasn’t exceptionally clean. Found stains on the comforter, floors, and hair all over the blow dryer in the bathroom. I might be able to overlook all of this if it wasn’t for the price. The room is too pricy to not have basic amenities.

When we arrived, no one was there to check us in. No one was in the office and we could not get hold of anyone by phone and had to wait for an hour before we could get into our cabin. We were not informed of the small amount of hot water available or the changes to housekeeping services due to covid-19. We couldn't empty our own trash because the dumpster was locked. The manager was less than helpful. Even after speaking with the owner we were very dissatisfied. The customer service was nonexistent. For the price we paid for a very small cabin, we expected more. We will never stay with them again. I will tell anyone who asks to find somewhere else. I would really prefer to give them 0 stars, but my comments won't post without at least 1 star.

These are clean cabins that have been updated. It is a good deal and close to Yellowstone. A few areas to note…. They are getting a new grill as the one that was there during our visit was old and leaking unsafely. As there are few restaurants nearby, you must either make reservations ahead of time, travel to the next town, or cook over the grill. The management makes these recommendations ahead of time so it should be no surprise. Due to COVID, they did a check-in / out remote process. If I had questions I could easily text someone and get immediate attention. While it is about 30 miles from a larger town, tons of fishing, hiking, and peace is right out your door!
