You gotta check this place out. The staff is amazing. The food and drinks are amazing. Pretty much my favorite spot in boise County. The Beer selection is top notch, they have a growler fill, they have fresh made sandwiches, they have an amazing store and atmosphere and I love it here. You will too.

Put the prices on your food.Edit in response to owner reply: no, 90% of your food does not have a price tag. In fact, of the entire drinks section (water, tea, soft, etc.) 90% of your products did NOT include a price tag.

Bobby is a stand up guy always going above and beyond. I have been going there religiously since around the time he took over. They open early on opening day of hunting season for the little things you forgot from a knife to tags or propane and ice. Now I’m overseas and this guy goes out of his way to make sure me and my guys are taken care of. Taking time out of day to ship things to obscure addresses. His famous jerky has now made it half way around the world and it was a much needed morale boost. I cant express enough thanks and I know you won’t listen but thanks Bobby we appreciate you and all you and your hard working staff do to make that place something special.

If you are going camping or just going on a scenic drive through the mountains, you must stop in and take a look because chances are they will have something you need. They have everything you can think of from firewood to a selection of beer and wine better than you will get in Boise. The owners Bobby and Teisha do an awesome job running this place and it really shows from the positive vibe you are greeted with when you walk in to the selection of just about anything you can think of. Great people doing great things for their community. 5 stars

Before moving to Idaho City, two and a half years ago, I Googled every aspect of the town that I could find. There was a news clip of Bobby Matthews in front of his grocery store following a big snowstorm. Bobby was so positive and spoke very highly of the community. He related that everyone in I.C. helped everyone else out in time of need and that is why he loved his new town so much. He had only been here a year at that time. Well, he has held up his end of the bargain, exemplarily so! Not only has he and his staff made THE very best of a small-town country store, it is a fun place to visit!We have never experienced such friendly, helpful and efficient staff anywhere. If, for some reason, they don't have an item you are seeking, they will get it for you! When the pandemic hit, Bobby made sure one of our senior citizens had a 50# sack of flour so she didn't have to go to a crowded store in Boise. One of our neighbors needed a large ham for a holiday and he got them one in two days. We were amazed from the first week we were here, that this store usually had whatever we needed. Even my favorite pie crust mix!!Bobby's meat counter is THE best anywhere as he cuts his meat in the store and makes specialty items all year long. His steaks are superb. Also, my husband (of Irish decent) has noticed that his selection of high quality liquor offered is better than any large liquor store he has ever been in, here in the US or abroad.So, truly, you need to stop in and have a look-see if you are traveling on Idaho state highway 21 through our charming old gold mining town in the mountains above Boise. I went Into the store to buy a carton of smokes got all the way home to figure out they had made a mistake an grabed the wrong ones to correct the mistake they litterly drove the right carton to my house! partly cause of the weather they have also let my daughter (who has medical issues) use their bathroom. ABOVE AND BYOND NORMAL SERVICE Kenny makes us smile everything with his hospitality I think the prices run high but if your looking around they are everywhere these days THANK YOU BOBBY for making such a warm place in our community to shop.

I’ve always liked this store and been surprised at their selection, but in the past few years it’s really been transformed! The addition of the growler station, with non-alcoholic options too, among general supplies and extra ordinarily friendly and helpful staff makes it our go to in Idaho City. Don’t forget to try their brisket burger and smoke cheese 😋

Stopped by the other day on my way through town and had a very nice experience here. I met the new owner — a guy named Bobby — and he made my quick stop a real treat. I will always make a point to stop in here every time I’m passing through.

The best little mountain grocery store there ever was! Also, their Growler Fill station is wonderful, and the staff is super helpful and welcoming.

It's been some time but Idaho City Grocery was purchased by an awesome family who has really made some great changes! Great food too for on the run meals. Waaaaaay cheaper than a restaurant if your in a hurry. The breakfast burritos are amazing! Prices are reasonable but of course higher than what you're use to in the valley. I'm a resident of IC and I recommend Idaho City Grocery.

Came in to get some Christmas tree permits. My child was touching the light up space swords in the front of the store. The male clerk with facial hair and a camouflage hat about had a toddler-like meltdown. I guess they don't have huge profits at this store. Prices are outrageous however. No public bathrooms. No stars. Go to Tom's.
