The place was extremely busy on a Sunday morning. The staff greeted us promptly and she was friendly and personable.Your surprise, the food came out really quickly. It was seasoned well, hot, fresh and tasted great.Keep it up.Kudos.

As truckers it usually hard to find good home cooked meals on the road. This restaurant is the perfect place for truckers to stop and grab a bite to eat. It had the best food we have had on the road in a long time. My boyfriend had the chicken fried steak and I had the fish and chips. We got full pretty quick but didn't want to quit eating. Service was awesome too. Glad we found this place after not getting food down the road at Carl's Jr. I rather support a mom and pop place anyway.Parking: Truck parking available

Some of the stakes were overcooked, others came out cold... The fries were severely under salted, frankly I'm not sure they salted them at all. The deep fried shrimp were overcooked. And even though it wasn't particularly busy, it took a long time to get our food out.The server was friendly, but very out of it and unprofessional. We were told to get our own deserts which were uncovered on a tray near the tables.Overall, not a great experience.

We just happened to find this place as we were traveling back to Washington state and let me tell y’all that this little restaurant is an absolute treasure!!! The waitress was super sweet and very attentive and she was super slammed busy. The truckers special was an absolute steal on the price and the steak was delicious, tender and juicy. The rolls are melt in your mouth goodness and the dessert cakes are spectacular. What makes their rolls and cakes so good, they’re homemade. The love that’s added by going the extra step to do it homemade makes all the difference. Even the side salad was good because their ranch dressing has so much flavor and the salad itself was fresh. The whole place was filled with the regulars who were such a hoot to sit and listen to as they interacted with their waitress. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Do yourself a favor and if you’re in this area, stop on in and treat yourself to some of the best food you’ll have all year!!!!

Oh my! The food and service at Wayside Cafe is phenomenal. We have visited family numerous times in Rupert and never knew about this road side diner until our recent visit. It’s truly a hidden gem. All of the dishes we tried during our recent 10-day stay in Rupert- breakfast, lunch and dinner were excellent. Breakfast steak was good and most surprising was the Trucker’s Special - a ten ounce sirloin so tender and juicy. It’s as good as any high quality steak house. No need for steak sauce. All of the meals includes soup/salad, vegetables, and even a dessert of the day. Prices are awesome and affordable. Hence, another reason we came six times during our stay. Whenever in the Burley/Rupert area be sure to eat at the Wayside Cafe. They are open 24-hours.

Great service smiles all around! this place has a huge menu breakfast lunch and dinner all day if you craving something they probably got it. Had the truckers special steak was cooked perfectly. Didn’t even know that the meals come with dessert and it was good ! Deff adding a place to stop on my truck route as they have ample parking for big rigs!

Friendly and quick service. Good mom & pop style diner. Prices are great and everything is homemade. The only negative was the chicken tenders were over breaded and a bit too hard. We will be back to try the chicken noodle soup that’s available on sundays!

This is a local Cafe and truck stop. My family loves to eat here because it's a comfortable atmosphere and the service is always great! We love that you can get anything on the menu all day long! My husband and son love to truck spot as we eat.Wheelchair accessibility: They have easy access into the Cafe and it's easy to get around inside for a wheelchair as well.

The food was dry and greasy, but it's a mom and pop style restraunt the nice waitress was very polite and flirty just like you like it then I go outside and the toothless hillbillys give a spoon fed gesture as I get into my luxury suv that I worked very hard for couldn't have asked for a better dinner great place to go recommend. the atmosphere made the food that much better

Have traveled more than 40,000 miles (all by car) across the USA over the past 4 years, stopping at all kinds of diners and smaller restaurants and I was so pleased with my experience at the Wayside Cafe!Easy to find.24 hours.Plenty of parking.Plenty of seating.SUPER friendly and fast waitress (Tawnie?)Great selection of food.Great prices.Great big portions!We had the ground sirloin steak dinner and the finger steak dinner which came with soup, rolls, huge portions of the entree and a dessert!You will not leave hungry and you will leave happy!Tip these folks well...places like this are rare!!(Photos of the menu with prices as of Sept 2022 included)

I'm a trucker and stayed the night out here one time, they have truck parking and a convenience store next door.This place is 24/7 busy, awesome people, great food, and a chill, relaxing environment.Definitely a place to stop by and eat. Excellent prices also

We've been here a few times. Always really big servings. Service is usually great. If it's packed, try not to sit in the very back, that cuts down on being seen by your waitress. Yummy food and good prices.Kid-friendliness: Good kid menu but their portions are huge and my 4 kids usually split 2 adult meals even with having a 9 and 11 year old. They have coloring pages and crayons for kids. Very family friendly place

A godsend for loneliness & depression, the only restaurant open 24 hours around here. Very friendly, loving staff open to any kind of conversation. Diner comfort food I grew up with in '70s, including hot beef sandwiches, chicken fried steak, T-bones, & breakfast fry-ups. Idaho dishes like steak fingers & trout, too. Spaghetti sauce is exceptional (pasta was just a tad gummy). Best thing we ate was the Tomato Mac soup that also came w/dinner (you get a choice between two options). Dessert is included with most dinners. Ours was pumpkin chocolate chip cake topped w/whipped cream. Heaven!

My mom and dad and I decided to have breakfast at Wayside Cafe. My mom and I got a chicken fried steak with overeasy eggs and scramble eggs with hash browns and 2 toasts and my dad got 2 pork chops with overeasy eggs with hash browns and 2 toasts and we've got one waffles with whipped cream with strawberry jam. We'll be coming back whenever we feel hungry again for next time.

I miss these kinds of places. Wonderful people that aren't offended. Great place to eat great food. Many things are home made, including their salad dressings. The blue cheese is the best IMO, so much so I bought some to take with me. The staff at night was amazing. Best company I've had in a restaurant in a very long time. This kind of place is a dying offering. One that peppered the Nation back in the 70s and early 80s.

I was a little disappointed. The my husbands steak was over cooked. My son's was cold. My daughter's chicken fried steak was amazing. My steak was good.Kid-friendliness: The kids meals were good. My kids ate every bite! The waitress was super sweet to them. 💖

This restaurant is what small home towns are made of! Skip the fastfood along I-86, if you have a few minutes, to sit down and enjoy a home cooked burger it's worth it! Fast, friendly service and great food!Parking: Plenty of parking

TRUCKER BROTHERS, LISTEN UP....I found this hidden Gem by accident. I got off the freeway looking for something else and saw a bunch of trucks here.Being a truck driver and needing a 30 min break...I parked and walked in this restaurant.I got steak and eggs with hashbrowns and toast.Price is awesome, service is spectacular and truck parking is plentiful.this is my new food stop in southern Idaho!God bless these fine folks at this establishment

Our food had no flavor and when I asked for something else, the waitress was rude, grabbed my plate with an attitude, and rolled her eyes. She then returned with the plate and said sorry we can't get you another plate. We don't flavor anything and it will all be the same. Then another waitress approached with the worst attitude I've ever seen. Raised her voice at me and absolutely refused to make the customer happy. I reminded her I was the customer several times before finally I was brought another plate. That plate was tasteless too. Worst food and service I've had to date. Waitresses depend.on tips...ours did not get one. I will never return.

Great food & service!!! This place is truly a hidden gem! The portions are more than generous & the bill is easy on your wallet. Seriously, anyone traveling I-84 thru Heyburn Idaho has got to stop in & enjoy...Any truckers out there will find plenty of parking & once you go once,it'll soon be a regular stop for you.
