We really enjoyed our experience at the Big Timber! We'd visited previously, when it was under a different owner and different name and swore we'd never go back. However, with new ownership we'd been hearing things were much improved so we decided to try again. What a pleasant surprise! The new owners are so friendly and welcoming! The food is good, and comparable to what you get at most places around here, but with slightly better prices. (Kids meals are only $3.95-4.95!) The inside has been cleaned up and is much brighter than before, and there's even a small convenience store with reasonable prices! What a great improvement; we'll definitely be back!

This is a great Home Town Cafe. Not only is the food really good but the people that own it & run it make you feel like you’ve been life long friends. Definitely worth the trip. Thank you for the wonderful meal & the chance of getting to know some really friendly people in Idaho. Bruce and Patricia Jones from Lodi California.

Do not be misled! Signs says all are welcome when in fact they are not. Against our better judgment, we stopped. Based on other reviewers, I'm assuming we dealt with the owner. The older lady should not have anything to do with the service industry at all. She refused to acknowledge our presence despite our warm greetings simply because we wore masks (should have left right then and there). After she is done mask shaming us, she moves onto mother shaming and the cherry on top was openly and loudly talking about past patrons and cars they have and how she is entitled to "a nice car (like the Californians) because she works just as hard and is BS she doesn't make more money." Incredibly awkward. Food was decent enough, but honestly she should be ashamed of herself by the way she treats absolute strangers who just wanted to support their business. Check other area establishments before stopping at the Hoodoo Cafe if you value human decency because you will not find it here.

Small out of the way restaurant with unique atmosphere. Great place to stop while on a road trip or after hiking/huckleberrying in the nearby mountains. I had the taco salad and it was exceptional. Not a lot of variety on the menu, but what they have is good. Everyone I came with was satisfied.

We liked it here. It was a little odd, because the owner lady was a little rude, but I don't think she meant to be that way. It kind of just seemed like her personality. The food was good though, and we would come back. This place is a good stop on the way back from skiing at the Palouse Divide.

We ordered hamburgers and 1 was 5.95 and the other was 6.95 and when we got the check we were charged that plus several other charges and fries or tater tots came with it. Really rips you off and the meat tasted awful with black things in it and not even sure it was hamburger. We got it to go so we let it go but won't get anything from there again!!!

Small town, friendly and ethical place. Very generous. I had the Hoodoo burger and tater tots that my mouth still waters for. The genuine personalities of the people made me feel right at home, as if I was surrounded by family. Thank you Mike, Laurie, Isaac and everyone!

Right off the highway. Not a very friendly place....We weren't welcome from the get go. I could feel we were probably being discriminated against from the beginning but decided to suppress those feelings for sake of the little ones. It was hot and the kids needed some cool treats! Ordered ice cream for the kids and a four beers. Two of which were incorrectly ordered, when I brought it to the owner/cook attention she threw her hands up in the air and yelled at me "I'm kind of busy back there (pointing to the kitchen) I don't have time for YOUR GAMES!" Slammed the bud light down on the bar.. I was completely beside my self. The owner was yelling at our server when we were cashing out. He was being very nice but obviously taking too much time with us. She yelled at him "get with the program!" The place was dead. Four other people were there. Take the left and drive an extra 7 minutes and eat in Deary where they appreciate your business and won't practice small town po dunk discrimination. I will not frequent this place again.

The best comfort food in North Idaho. The fingersteaks were to die for, and the chicken fried steak was amazing. Good portion sizes, great small-town atmosphere, and good eatin'. I'd have a beer there any day!

Not sure why there isn’t a line at the HooDoo Cafe. Their burgers taste so much better than the usual joints like Sonic, Wendy’s, McDonalds, etc. My sister-in-law travels all the way from Seattle and wants a “HooDoo” burger when she arrives. HooDoo burgers or bust!
