I absolutely love shopping at the Caldwell True Value store. The owners are fantastic people. Whenever I'm in the store, they greet me by my first name. The staff is always very helpful, willing to answer a question or help me find something that I'm looking for. The store is always neat and clean and well organized. It's easy for me to get in and out. If you're looking for hardware-related items, definitely stop at the Caldwell True Value, you will be happy you did!

Generally more expensive than Walmart, Lowe's or Home Depot, but it is conveniently located in the city of Caldwell across from the College of Idaho.

I have been in many times. Quaint like home improvement store. Last time I was completely lost trying to find a specific bolt and a guy came and helped us figure it out, marked and bagged it for us and was very helpful. It is an older store so not fancy but definitely worth it if you need something.

Bought a 13 piece drive set for $21.99, ended up not having the drive bit I needed. Came back the next day and they refused my return (with receipt) saying they couldn’t get credit back from the vender. The drive set was unused, just an open product box.This is why you should buy from Lowe’s or Home Depot. They take care of their customers.I had originally started shopping here because it’s closer then the big box stores but I’m realizing the value of the few extra miles.

I went there to get some keys made that no one was able to, the staff was great, the store was very organized and appealing. Everyone was happy, pleasant and knowledgeable. Their prices were considerably less than I would have had to pay elsewhere. Fabulous staff and service.

This is a good place to stop for so many little items. Whether you want tools, supplies to build with with, garden tools, and all other kinds of items. The service is helpful, and I could get right in and write out. The parking is easy and it's a very convenient location. I would definitely recommend them for any of your building for small job needs.

True Value is great and way more convenient than driving through the Boulevard traffic to Nampa. The staff is very helpful and they most likely will have what you need.

Just like the True Value stores I used to go to as a kid. You think of them as just having hardware but they actually have way more. Loads of Christmas stuff in here currently (Nov/Dec 2022). Some toys. Other stuff. It's just super convenient having this place right on the Boulevard where it is.

So the customer service gal who helped me not only found what I was looking for fast and efficiently she waited for me to be sure that I got the right size and type of product then she showed me to another item I was wanting to look at and offered all kinds of information on a personal level about her dog and my dog and how I can benefit and she just went above and beyond very great service

Used to be my go to store, but it feels customer service is not a true value anymore! every question comes with an excuse as to why they can’t help you, went in for a simple key cut of a key I bought online. just ask for a key cut no, because a chipped! key would still turn an ignition and unlocked a door if cut properly, but the answer I got is it ruins the chip if not done right! hmmm a key is a key has nothing to do with the programming if that fails that’s on me so keep your untrue values I’ll move on.

Floor employee became impatient rude and disrespectful when I had a hard time communicating to him a plumbing problem I had. In fact he seemed to have an attitude toward me from the beginning. Also the prices there are the highest I've seen anywhere including the large home improvement stores so given a choice I won't be back there any time soon.

Looking for parts for my broken hose they had all sizes even new hoses! Lots of wind chimes and Hummingbird feeders. So many choices. Great sales people so nice. Masks clients choice.

Good place to go for hardware. Every time i need a specific nut bolt or what not i choose true value. Been going here for a long time , since it wad ace. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Sometimes the prices are a just a bit higher than some of the big stores, but its the big stores that drove up price for these little hatwares stores. There are not money little hardware shops left . so get out and support this store great for all you hardware needs.

Nice clean decent store, prices are a little higher than home Depot and Lowe's but you don't have to walk for miles and deal with the traffic and parking etc. Very nice people and excellent customer service. They have some very nice gifts, artwork and home accessories as well, but pretty expensive. It's stuff you won't see elsewhere though. So if you're in Caldwell and you want to keep it local and not hassle driving to Nampa big box stores this is your place!

I absolutely love this hardware store. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful when needed but don't hover. I strongly encourage everyone to support smaller stores like this so they don't go the way of radio shack.

My dear friend, who is 87 years old, needed a padlock for her storage unit. We needed some advice concerning the padlocks. My friend went over to this gentleman. She asked nicely, and then, he blatantly avoided her, as he continued helping this other person, which was many years younger than us, a younger woman. This associate, with his cavalier attitude, literally blew us off. I was angered by his attitude for doing this to my dear friend, may I remind you, who is 87 years old. Most importantly, he and everyone else in the store weren't even wearing masks, including the cashiers and associates. We were the only ones were wearing masks, while the Delta and Omicron variants are going around with COVID-19. Anyway, I spoke out loud and said, "He is blowing us off and we can figure this out anyway!" Of which we did. His misogynistic behavior was disgusting. He didn't even respond to us of which I called him out. On the way out, away from the aisle, I looked at him. Anyway, at the checkout counter, the cashier gave my friend, a 25% discount for this padlock as a consolation prize. Stay away and go to the other big box stores, if you have to.

Friendly and helpful staff. I went in to buy Espoma cactus and succulent potting mix, although they didn't have what I was originally looking for, the staff was more than helpful in suggesting an alternate mix that would work just as well. I ended up getting plant starter mix, succulent fertilizer, and a big bag of sand to add to my potting mix. The gentleman that helped me was also nice enough to carry the bag out to my car for me, which I greatly appreciated. I will be back for the quality products and friendly customer service.

Buying things at true value as opposed to home Depot depends on the price of gasoline and the distance between your house and home Depot and your house and true value.Because things at true value cost two to three times the amount of the same product at home Depot it needs to be treated as a convenience store. If true value is way closer and you only need one item fast then go there. That's the only TRUE value it has.
