Fantastic selection of plants! The greenhouse really sets this store apart. Kate and Josh make this location great! Definitely have to come by and check this store out if you are looking for anything houseplants related.

Since I moved to Boise over 20 years ago, I have been amazed with Zamzows as a place to get all of my living things and their accessories. Their plants have great variety, price and health and even moreso their pet department takes the greatest care of the animals while they await their new homes. The staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. I have had many snakes, pet rats, ferrets, parakeets, and fish from Zamzows and found them all to be way healthier and more socialized than the pets that I have purchased at other stores.Jared at the State street location has been one of my all time favorite staff members. His passion and knowledge of the animals is inspiring and contagious. I more recently decided to get a more sophisticated bird than the parakeets I have cared for. His honesty and experience with birds gave me the confidence that I was making the best choice in my new adventure. It allowed me to know I was being careful not to get into more bird than I could handle but the right bird for my desires and skill level. It is very apparent that his top priority is ensuring the humans and animals find the union that is best suited for both of their wellbeing. I could not have been happier with the bird I chose and valued his suggestions and tips even after I got her.As a teenager my family owned a small pet food and supply store in a small town. The amount of care and learning I put into the products left me feeling a bit saddened by most other stores I have been to since. Although it is a larger company with several locations in the valley, it seems they put great focus on ensuring that their staff maintains the "local" small town store service with exceptional training. Their prices are competitive with the larger chain stores, but their products are fresher and often with healthier selections to choose from.

Came in for some crickets, left empty handed after none of the employees were able to help with them. Chit chatting amongst themselves seemed more important and forgive me for interrupting to ask for help cause the pet room people gave me the nastiest look when I asked about crickets. Customers service used to be amazing here idk what's happened the last few years but it's sad to see the rapid decline of this location.

I never thought a dog could have a favorite store but Nellie about loses her mind from excitement every time we pull into the Zamzow’s parking lot. She pulls me straight to the toys and takes her pick.As her dog mom, I love that I am able to buy locally sourced dog food from a local company. I love how friendly the employees are to us. I love their indoor plant selection and I love buying my flowers here in the spring time. Their selection of plants, flowers, pots, dog items and cat items never fails. Zamzow’s is my favorite place to shop for garden, pet, plants and yard decor.Also, Stacia is a 10/10. She goes out of her way to greet Nellie. I love her energy and how happy she gets when she sees Nellie carrying her new toy through the store. Thank you, Stacia for being a light in this world!

Zamzows has quality supplies, that is how they do so well. The prices there seem fair and i know thay when I buy something there its going to last. They have a lawn care program which I have yet to try but all my neighbors use them and they have really vibrant green grass and multicolored shrubs in excellent condition. We recently bought our chicks there and they are all so heathy.Zamzows does a good job!

This review is for the zamzows clinic here not the store. Took my dog here to get his shots and made an appointment a month in advance. When we arrived we were told it will be a while even with an appointment. So we sat there for 2 hours and were the last people to get seen. Several people came in after us and got seen. This was very unprofessional. What's the point of making an appointment if zamzows won't live up to the appointment? Then when we finally got seen they told me there is no one there to do a microchip, what if that was the only reason we were there? That is definitely something you should tell people when they first walk in. After all of this we will never be back to this clinic. 2 hours of sitting there when we had an appointment is ridiculous. Highly earge others to take their animals some place else shame on you zamzows!

Why have a propane sale if there is no one here that can use the machine? Why can't all if your employees know?! I now have to take my business somewhere else. If people cant buy propane don't have a sale

Been shopping at Zamzows for years. Locally owned and gardening supplies are geared towards Idaho's climate and growing conditions. This makes a huge difference in productivity of the garden.

I'm very disappointed with Zamzow! I go in to pick something up and I'm told no with a aditude!!! So after talking to the assistant manager I was told I will get a phone call from the main manager when he returns. I have never heard from either of them again like no big deal about how there employees treat customers. I guess they get enough business they don't need to treat people like that want them to return.

The quality is good, the staff is helpful about 90% of the time. Prices can tend towards the more expensive side so I don't go here for everything. I have used their in house lawn care products for several years now and have been very pleased with the outcomes.

I have been buying dog food at this store for 10 years now. It's consistent, good quality, and fairly priced. My dogs love it and I've never had any food related problems with it.I'm also on their lawn-care program (approx last 5 years) and would definitely recommend it for the DIY lawn peeps. Just know you will also have to treat weeds with additional products, but all the associates are super helpful in getting what you need and I like it's a kid and pet friendly product.

Knowledgeable staff, I received a bearded dragon from my cousin after he went in the army. Told me about lights, also about diet, cage size, demeanor, behaviour, etc. I was amazed at how much he knew. Always smiling, the red head girl at the register is always so friendly! Great location as well, good parking, lots of variety

Great selection of garden and pet supplies. I do have the best luck at this location for multiple varieties or colors of the same plant. The employees are very friendly and helpful they will go out of their way to help determine the best product for the need you are looking to fill

We bought a pet rat for my daughter. Staff was helpful, process was easy. Prices were a little high, and he only showed us the more expensive rat, I love buying feeders and giving them a safe home, and he didn't even give us that option. My daughter did love the rat he showed us, so I went with that one, but it would've been nice to have options.

We love the staff at this location. I go to Zamzows for a variety of things, from food for the wild birds, my ducks, cat, snake and fish, to any of my gardening needs. I'm impressed with their animal husbandry as well. This is the store I wish I had back in Washington, it's so nice for a one stop shop for all of my animals, opposed to going to 3 different stores where I am from!

Today was the first time I have ever been to Zamzows. I had questions about lawn care and their products. They are very knowledgeable and answered all my questions and I have decided to go with their products, it's all natural. I will also be purchasing the dog food that they stock there because of the same reason, all natural/no grains, especially no corn. I am so glad I went there. Good customer service!!! Friendly too 😊

The vet clinics are one of the best deals in the valley. The store has an excellent selection of pet products and food at reasonable prices. The home and garden section is good as well, with great products and knowledgeable staff.

Awesome, friendly staff. They know about everything from vegetable gardens to lawn care to pets and animals! We only feed our dogs Zamzows Grandma Z food and their lawn program works better than Scott's and costs less over the whole season.

I am so grateful to the excellent staff at Zamzows - State Street. I was looking for several large bags of vermiculite for a garden project. Unfortunately, the last bag had been sold. The manager agreed to order some for me, but midweek he learned the product was temporarily unavailable. Rather than let me down, he called all the other stores to locate enough for my garden. Sarah, the assistant manager, then drove around to the other stores to pick up the individual bags and had them all ready for me to pick up as planned on Saturday. They truly went above and beyond to help me. Thank you so much.

I got the most beautiful little Christmas tree... They were super kind and helpful... Thank you so much! After losing my Mom and best friend, I am not really into the holidays and after not getting a full paycheck yesterday, it was super cool to get a tree for a small donation. Boise's own garden store and more. You can expect great and friendly and knowledgeable service but also expect higher prices. I appreciate all the extra stuff you can get there including pet supplies, lawn and garden everything, plants and planters, bulk soil and ground coverings, bird seed and feeders and much more.

We visit this location frequently for our lawn program and all our garden needs. We love the help we receive from this store, they are always so helpful and knowledgeable. The best thing they suggested for us to use in our garden this year was the Compost Tea. We were having a problem with our vegetable garden and especially the blooming of tomatoes. It was a kit that had Tomato Bloom, Thrive and Foundation in a 5 gallon bucket. The instructions were very easy. Once I applied this tea onto our tomato plants (as well as all the other plants) within 2 weeks they were going crazy. I did two batches and the plants did wonderful. I will definitely use this tea early on next year. Our season is so short we need all the help we can get for our plants to produce in a short time. Thank you Mr. Zamzow's!!

These guys are always very helpful and there's always enough staff on hand to help you out with what you're trying to find. Their pet experts are informed and knowledgeable and they have a very good selection of products. I used the zamzows systemic tree pesticide to treat for aphids and other destructive pests and it works extremely well.

The absolute best Zamzows! I came to this location for the first time together in search of houseplants. I was pleasantly surprised to find they have the best selection and care of any other Zamzows I’d been to. I also met Sandy who was an absolute joy! Very knowledgeable. I’ll be back.

Always an excellent experience. They were out of the catfood I wanted - it's a popular brand. Had a fun chat with an employee so it was still worth the visit. As a resident of Boise for more than 60 years who has cared for horses, chickens, turkeys, dogs, and cats, I know Zamzows is the best place to buy quality, healthy food for every kind of critter.
