I’ve never been so absolutely astonished by a business!I currently live in an apartment. Unfortunately I lost my key in the grassy outside my building. It’s a larger area. Multiple people helped me look but with the leaves and lack of upkeep in the area…we haven’t been able to find it. I was going to have to wait three days and pay over $150 to get new locks put in by the staff here at the apartment complex. No woman wants to be terrified for three straight days if someone found the key to her and was able to locate the apartment and gain access, especially while you’re sleeping. So finally Friday pretty late in the day I called safe home lock and key. They said that they would be right over… and they were. They didn’t charge much in comparison to what my own apartment complex was going to charge. A guy named Gary showed up. A really amazing person in general. He was helpful. He explained what he was doing. He even put the door handle on in the correct direction as it’s been backwards since I moved in (the handle is separate from the lock). My dog was treated kindly. Gary was Very friendly with him. After multiple days of not feeling safe in my own home.. he put me at ease. I had been on edge that whole time. I didn’t feel stupid or that I was overreacting.. like the staff where I live at treated me. The company pricing was fair… well.. very reasonable. I can’t even say how thankful I felt after the whole experience. I’m an Army Veteran. Not a lot of business’s recognize that in a way that makes us feel proud to have served. When I called that day to find help… I had asked if they had a discount for military veterans.. they really didn’t. However… with the thanks from them and the respect I was shown.. the appreciation for what I did and who I am… was truly felt. Hopefully I never need any sort of help like this again… if I did… hands down I would go to them.. even if they raised the prices.. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. So if you ever need to use a business like this one.. stick with this one if you can’t. Great experience with the gentleman who answered the phone too… he and Gary went above and beyond what you see with employees these days…THANK YOU GUYS!!! gizmo also really appreciated your service and kind hearts!!!!

OK! I have to give a big kudos for a moment to Safe Home Lock & Key. The owner went above and beyond in helping me last moment with getting some keys made. I leave town bright and early tomorrow and this kind man stayed late to make sure that I had keys prior to my departure. He wanted to make sure that I was able to keep my property safe on my travels. Even though I was completely okay with waiting until tomorrow to get the lock keys completed He wanted to make sure I was not waiting around. What a guy! I admire how he runs his business and will recommend anyone with key needs to reach out to him! His skills were obvious of years of work in the industry.

I came here a couple years ago after I accidentally bent and broke apart my only house key. The guy looked it over and quickly made a perfect replica. (And 3 more copies to be safe.) It was a fair price for quality work, done by hand.

After I pulled out my ignition switch tumbler to clean it, all the little parts fell out of it, and I didn’t have enough time to recognize their positions. I had to bring it into their office, and within 1/2 hour it was ready to “roll”. They know what they’re doing and they got great customer service. The head guy David is a genius.

It’s been about a year and a half since I had service by Safe Home Lock & Key, however, the experience was so miserable that we felt compelled to write a review to warn others. My wife and I had a safe that was purchased several years ago online that never worked properly and wouldn’t open reliably. We were directed to Safe Home Lock & Key by the safe manufacturer. Despite replacing the locking mechanism, the safe still didn’t open reliably. We troubleshot the lock with the lock tech support which revealed that Safe Home Lick & Key had installed the lock poorly, drilling out the body and contaminating the mechanism with his drill work to the point that the lock was considered damaged after the service attempt. Fortunately, we were able to find another locksmith to fix Safe Home’s work and now the safe works as expected. Besides the shoddy work, he was also a painful person to deal with. He was late, forcing my spouse to wait several hours on more than one occasion despite appointments. He was condescending and spoke down to us, all the while screwing up our safe. He was mad at us for contacting the lock manufacturer; probably because this revealed his incompetence. He refused to stand behind his work or refund our money. The lock manufacturer felt so bad for us that they gave us a replacement lock so that we could sell it on eBay to try to recoup some of our out-of-pocket expenses since the work was some of the worst they’d ever seen before. I have no idea how he has so many five-star reviews, and suspect that they may be either self-fabricated, commissioned, or fraudulent. We would recommend steering clear of him.

I needed my car door re-keyed, I brought the lock into the shop and it was done in under 10 minutes! He did an awesome job. I was charged 3x less than another shop quoted.

Go here! You can tell the owner enjoys his work, people like this don't exist in abundance. I'm on the road and had to get a new key made for my tool boxes. Jerry and David stayed well after closing and managed to fab up a new key from scratch. Life savers! No delay for me to get back to work! I even left with a new lock cylinder for hobby picking. These guys know their stuff.

Joe came to my house in a quick manner to help me get my car unlocked. My 2 yr old had locked himself in it. Right before he showed up I was able to talk my son out of the car. Joe was happy that I got my son out and didn't charge me for the trip out. I would highly recommend these guys they show up and quick and have great customer service.

Been in twice to get keys copied. The service provided is adequate, the keys function, but the customer service is unsatisfactory. The bald headed gentleman needs a refresher in politeness.

We were locked out of our car at a BSU game late on a Friday night. The faithful tech ended up walking quite a distance to get our car, because so many people were leaving and he was going against the flow. He quickly unlocked the door for us, and then walked back to his car (by this time the parking lot was pretty deserted) and drove in so he could give us a jump. He went above and beyond the call of duty. Kudos for exceptional customer service.

excellant locksmith. All the keys that came with my used vehicle were worn and unreliable. They were so worn out , simple duplicates were just as bad. I thought I was in for a difficult and expensive whole-vehicle lock replacement in doors and ignition , YUKHowever, this shop is the Real Deal, he had the reference data, able to cross match the remnants of the key I had with what should have been the original factory cut. Cut a new key to original specs and every lock worked great , still does. Friendly shop, great work & good price.

My son locked himself in my Rav a few days ago so I called. Jerry showed up, but since my son had been in there for an hour I had already broken the window out to get him. He didn't charge me even though I offered to pay for the trip out. It was rush hour traffic or he would have made it sooner. If I ever need my car opened again I will definitely be calling. Very pleasant to work with and compassionate.

Gross! My company used safehome and the guy said he was taking pictures of the lock and he was actually taking photos of my butt! I turned around and saw him take one while in the hallway- nowhere near a lock! I saw the picture of me on his phone and then he denied it. Gross company.

We called Safe Home Lock & Key and to re-key a door at our office in Hailey, and they had a tech out to us within a few hours who took care of it with no problem. Great service and really responsive. Love these guys!

The company duplicated my motorcycle and car keys perfectly. In fact my motorcycle key duplicates work better than the original. They're awesome about immediately obtaining key blanks they don't have on hand, and ordering extras to keep in stock.

I only gave one star because I have to to write a review. I talked with these people in the a.m., and set up a 3pm appointment to come open my bathroom door. I know, I know, so simple but I didn't have anyway to open it. When they didn't show up at 3:30 I called and they said they would be there at 4pm. They were rude and dismissive. When they didn't show up at 4:30 I called and cancelled. I then called Anytime Lock and Key. They were AWESOME and saved me $55 by telling me how to become my own lock picker. Don't use these people. You will waste your time and money!

This place is great. My doorknob stopped turning and I couldn't fix it myself (I tried!). Safe Home had it repaired within 30 minutes of me calling. Reasonably priced as well.

I would definitely recommend Safe Home Lock & Key.The technician arrived on time and knew, immediately what the problem with my doorknob was. (A broken latch) He even had the parts on hand!He was very knowledgeable and fixed it without any problems.

id like to say something positive but i cant. Nice guy but... 2 efforts on my safe. First pin installed was a nail. Fail- 3 weeks. Second visit, the safe was not completely reinstalled and failed in about 2 mos.. on a Thursday prior to a big hunt. not worth hiring considering the efforts.

Great at answering phone calls but I was told a locksmith would be here in 30 to 45 minutes 3 times. I have been waiting for 3 hours and still no locksmith. Last call i was told the driver left 30 minutes ago from Boise its been over an hour 1/2. Definitely do not recommend their service.

Jerry from Safe Home Lock & Key had great advice to improve our home security with better deadbolts and energy efficiency with better door seals. I have used several locksmith services here in Boise as my wife has a tendency to lock our keys in the car. Not only did they provide excellent service they also have WAY better prices than anyone in town. I have programmed their number in my phone and I will NEVER use anyone else. BEST locksmith in Boise.

Driving on Broadway close to the 84 on Monday, Nov 30 at 9:05am, I almost got pushed off the road by the Safe Home Lock & Key driver twice! It appeared he was in a hurry and was attempting to pass others trying to get ahead. Reckless driving for sure. Sorry, but I would not be interested in doing business with them.

The lock on the apartment door broke and there was no other way to get in. Compliments of Safe Home Lock and Keys' fast response there was not a lot of wait time. Joe was very courteous and professional. I recommend this company to anyone.
