Edit : sept 4th 2023. Visited this location today and the tanks looks super clean and all the bugs were alive and the area was clean. Thank you for taking care of your pets. The ferrets are still drinking out of a water bottle but everything else look much better so I am raising my stars. ****I will say at least the fish tanks are way cleaner than they have been (they were awful - cloudy and disgusting- and were offering clown fish from their disgusting tanks for 50% off) but they DO look much cleaner and healthier now.With that said, Please explain to me why you have your ferrets drinking out of water bottles (which can break their teeth, they have teeth like cats, not rodents.). Also, the bug section (to feed reptiles) is always disgusting, but this time it was nothing but dead bugs marked "75% off" (absolutely nothing alive, they have turned black and are still trying to sell them) and even bugs not marked off were mostly dead. I will be getting our pet stuff from somewhere else for now on. These have become long term issues and I refuse to give them anymore money.

Took my dog in to be groomed. This was the first time my dog went to the groomers and she's only a year old. The girls that were fantastic, took their time with her, kept her out of the kennel when they were done because she was kind of afraid of it anyway they were just all around very accommodating and did a great job with her with her haircut, lm very happy

The placement of alive and ailing animals into a freezer is reprehensible. This is a cruel behavior and apparent practice at the Boise, Idaho Petco on Milwaukee. Under the direction of Michael the departments leader, with the GM and assistant managers knowledge. To make things even more revolting, and tasteless the damage continues. The department manager Micheal asked an employee to feed baby hamsters born in the store to a snake. Fearful of repercussions, the employee complied. These managers who are sadistic, heartless, and barbaric humans need to be stopped. Their presumptuous and ungodly behaviors have come to light. Your nepotism, egos, and wretchedness have been exposed, along with your true vile and unforgivable conduct. Stop the maltreatment and killing of defenseless animals. Save and protect the powerless. The “GM” is a combative, egotistical, and uncaring individual who was inexplicably rude to the customers in front of me, behind me, and myself. The customer isn’t always right but if you refuse to even be polite then what is the point. Bullying people and embarrassing them to not “be wrong” is just plain harassment. Customers are not there to have a show down or challenge you. They just asked questions and for assistance with their needs. None of these customers did anything to you that warranted the behavior you exhibited. Just barking at people “I’m the GM!!” isn’t a granting of unlimited power to belittle people. Sorry to inconvenience your day. I hope you don’t treat your animals, employees, friends, and family like that.Never shopping at this location again. Go to Meridian or off Federal Way!

I took Level 1 puppy training with Morgan. She was awesome. Patient, knowledgeable, and kind. She had good product knowledge and showed me things I needed to buy. I am a first time puppy owner and the class was very helpful in all areas.

I don't know about everybody else's groomers. But my dog goes in and she sees the same groomer every time, she leaves happy every time. Her Groomer's name is Miss Lisa, Scarlett and I both love Miss Lisa! She always does an amazing job with Scarlett, she's so kind Scarlett goes in so excited when she sees her! Miss Lisa even took the time to do research on Scarlett's breed before her first appointment, I was very impressed and it made me feel a lot better when I took her in for her first grooming appointment. Scarlett is a Catahoula hound, they usually live more towards the South or that's where they were bred anyways, she had never heard of the breed before, most people don't know what a Catahoula is around here. But she took the time to do research on the breed before we even arrived! She's the best groomer she's so kind and sweet and she takes amazingly good care of Scarlett! I 100% would recommend Miss Lisa!

Sick animals. They were sneezing, wiping their nose, displaying lethargic behavior. Some guinea pigs had crusts on their eyes or nose. I informed the manager and showed her photos I took. I asked her why sick animals were on the floor since Petco has a quarantine policy and she said "things fall through the cracks". Not only is this store not following corporate protocol. They are deliberately endangering people's pets by knowingly selling animals who are ill.

I recently went to petco and buy a beta fish. I had picked out one, but then one of the workers told me female beta fish can live together unlike males and females. She said I could put multiple in the same tank. I was very surprised and purchased three female betas. Within one week one of the betas killed the other two! I never would have bought multiple if I had thought they would get killed. I hope they get their employees on the same page and stop telling customers that.Besides that the store is clean and organized.

Very clean and the staff is helpful. The dog food area in the back needs to be better organized. There seems to be no order to it. It took me quite a while to find out the food I wanted wasn't in stock and to find an alternate food.

I just have to say that Zoe is a god send! As soon as I let her know my issue she was immediately there to help! She had several great ideas, and amazing fortitude in the face of a tough situation. She definitely went above and beyond to assist me while in the shop, always with a smile on her face. Women in STEM for the win! Zoe, in my humble opinion deserves a raise for how fabulous she is!

All the new staff (in the last 2 years) have noticeably been lacking care for the animals they have. I've worked in numerous pet stores, so I'm no stranger towards how these stores operate. But I feel like, since it is in fact your job to make sure these animals don't die due to preventable cause, when a customer tells you a fish (in corporate eyes an expensive one might I add) is getting brutally mauled by their tank mates, you could actually do something about it and not lie about it. But don't let me interrupt your blank staring into the void, you're clearly busy.

When I walked in, I was asked if I needed any help finding what I was looking for. The employees were very conscious of me being on a mission and understood that I needed specific dog food and I was able to find it, I carried it upfront and get it at a discount. I am always very pleased when I walk into a Petco staff is always friendly and always willing to help.

We got a great starter kit for our bearded dragon from Petco. As well as having our bearded dragon, super helpful on which one to pick!! So glad Petco had everything we needed. Staff was so helpful with our learning about what do as well as showing us what products were the best. Its a great task and we were able to get things ready with no-worries!! The system is down and for some reason that’s everyone’s problem. I ordered dog food and they’re basically holding it hostage. I showed my receipt and order number and they didn’t care. Plus the manager was combative as hell, no reason to escalate I was simply asking questions.

I had purchased my 8th bag of dog food on 6/15/23. After that I could see my reward for my free bag. When I went to the store in 8/12/23 to claim my bag the reward disappeared. I was told there was nothing they could do for me. Very disappointing considering I chose to continue to shop at Petco over Chewy for this Reward.

The aquatic staff member was incredibly rude, the manager even worse. They refused to feed food to a fish we were interested in and gave a round about reasons why they wouldn't. I tested there amonia levels, after buying a saltwater fish, and it was .8 way high, feel so bad for those fish. There were tons of dead fresh water fish as well. Was there over 40 min in just waiting time until we were helped. I have never been treated so poorly by anyone. The employee told me one price and the manager said that was wrong and raised it by $30. Will not be going back to that store. So disappointing.

Very friendly and helpful staff! Had to get some waterproof boots for one of my poodles. The first pair didn’t work so I walked them back in and quickly exchanged them for a larger pair. Service was quick, easy, and friendly!
