Thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this bookstore while in Boise. This store is a great example of what a used bookstore should be. There was a nice selection of books to choose from at what I thought were reasonable prices. Also a fun selection of gently used treasures and new small trinkets for all ages.Of course, meeting Daisy, the boxer, was the highlight of my visit. And I really enjoyed talking to Clayton the owner. Such a nice guy with a great sense of humor. All of my future visits to Boise to visit my family will include a visit to this bookstore, and next time I'll make sure I have more room in my suitcase, so I can buy more books to take home!

We appreciated the doggo theme so much! It's obvious that the owners have a great sense of humor. Had we not found anything to buy, this bookstore would have been worth a trip just for the chuckles and the pleasure of meeting Stella, the chubby charmeress (one of the pups). But we did leave with some great finds. I was concentrating on the cookbooks, among which there are some absolute treasures, while my husband went for a vintage sci-fi novel. All in all, a very delightful bookstore and it's right next to the Boise Aquarium!P.s. Just look at this adorable business card bookmark we got with our purchase! *.*

I came in with my wife and 3 children to find some kids books. On the hunt for the great illustrated classics! They had some pretty high prices for kids books, so I wouldn’t recommend them on that. I’m sure they have a good selection of other books though. My wife jumped ahead and gave a review that I would have worded differently, and the owners wife came on and misquoted us and made some pretty nasty assumptions. I’m not gonna let my wife be publicly humiliated and made to look like a Karen. I wish our interaction could have been different. Too bad it wasn’t. All that said: seemed like a good selection of books. Probably don’t want to get kids books if your looking for cheap stuff. And lastly I hope any offenses made can be overlooked.

Great selection, this store is amazing for anybody looking for any type of book as well as antiques. The owners and their dog were extremely nice. I love how you don’t have to feel pressured into buying anything like the rest of the book stores I have been to. The prices were a bit high, but not as expensive as barn and nobles.

My first visit there I was extremely impressed. Not only at the sheer number of books and space in the shop but at the cool nicknacks other media that could be bought there. They even have some antiques in the back. While the majority of the focus is on books, with prices between 4 to $7 on average. If you bring in trades you can get have price the listed list price on the cover making each book about $4 or so. Which is an extremely great price. Could easily spent 30 minutes to an hour browsing.

Spent a lovely 30 minutes wandering around the shelves here, finding some vintage novels from the 50s, and 60s with their interesting covers. Had a sniff greet with the resident and friendly puppy. Low-key, good variety. Will be back. Important to give places like this the business.

A book lover's paradise! Amazing selection of books! I could spend hours browsing and probably still wouldn't get through all the inventory on the shelves! For the younger bookworms, they have a sizeable section dedicated to children's literature. They also have antiques and new cute/kawaii items to round out your shopping experience. The owners and their dog are so welcoming and ready to assist their customers. If you're in the Boise area, you should stop by Bargain Books!

This is a wonderful used bookstore that is 3 or 4 times the size of most used bookstores. They prices are very good and the atmosphere is fantastic. I try to get there at least once every other month.

Thank you both. Huge selection of all genres, as well as some collectibles and games. A great store that we will come to again. My kids loved their selections as well.

Hidden Gem. Bought some old chess and rubix cube books. Brought the wife and kid. Chill dog to pet, he is awesome. Books you're looking for can be a hit or miss and price can be a little high. i believe I got a good deal though. Check it out! Even just to look around

Tardis type experience, smaller on the inside, bigger on the outside. Wonderful space full of a lovely variety of books. Relatively quiet with lots of chairs to sit in between perusing interesting titles.Daisy their mascot is getting older but still friendly and will disappear to snooze in between greeting customers. Prices are super affordable, and they have everything from newish books (last few years) - to vintage copies that are sealed in plastic to protect the fragile covers and pages. Wonderful little collection of knick knacks and oddities, and im sure some antiques snuck in between.I didnt catch the owner's name, but they seemed to be a nice couple of individuals who just enjoy the pleasures of a quiet warehouse made cozy for thousands of titles stacks next to each other on shelves, carts, chairs, the floor and alike. Also have a trading credit system to get half price off their books when you turn in some. Their trading system as kept with records and never expires. I will definitely be returning for some much needed book therapy!

Incredibly helpful and cheerful couple. The location is definitely more convenient than the old one and parking is vastly better. If you read a lot of books and need to change up your collection, they do store credit on any book you bring in. With that store credit you are able to put it towards your next Literary adventure (book, I mean book for those that don’t get it). Will for sure be back to peruse their collections.

We’re from the IF area and decided to come to Boise for a visit. We don’t have any book stores like this in Idaho Falls, so I was very excited! Daisy is absolutely adorable, she greeted us at the door & the owners are so nice. They gave me a bookmark and some business cards featuring daisy. My husband (who is not a reader) even found something he was interested in and I was able to snag a 1st edition Stephen King. Most “wholesome” part of our quick visit & I cannot wait to go back again!

Stopped in yesterday because I enjoy looking for nostalgic reads and interesting editions. Found a really cool version of The Hobbit that I haven't seen before. The owners were really nice and super helpful. They get different stuff all the time and kindly invited me back. Was really thrilled that I stopped in on a whim.

Bargain Books is a neighborhood gem at Cole and Franklin with a good mix of predictability and surprise—not to mention a welcome break from Amazon. The homey reception starts with being greeted by a well-behaved dog and a view of shelves that extend back into a space that is much larger than expected. In addition to an excellent variety of well-organized books, there is a selection of original mid-century childhood/YA books and reasonably priced, one-of-a-kind gift and jewelry items. We enjoyed chatting with the personable owners and are looking forward to returning with regularity as new stock is constantly coming in.

Really good experience here! Well organized sections, well tended displays, and a fun smattering of antiques and oddities new and old. The 'owner', Daisy, is exceptionally charming, and the whole team (Daisy, Micky, Clayton) create a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere.

First time I have been in here, was really pleasantly surprised. Sitting in the science fiction section....in the silence so great you could hear a pin drop....the books seem decades old, removed from a modern society that scorns the things these books say....it can feel lonely and isolating being a science fiction fan....but you realize that they contain the properties of hopeful futures and terrifying dystopias...they contain the most expansive visions of humanity's future....plus one of the coolest people I know reads or read a ton of SF books.

I stopped in a few months ago and haven’t stopped thinking about this place since; I really enjoyed looking through all the books & finding hidden treasures. When I first walked in I was overwhelmed with what looked to be (slightly organized) chaos- books piled everywhere, even stacked on the floor- , but soon found comfort that there were so many books on so many topics. I couldn’t ask for a better bookstore. A little disorganized, yes, but who cares when their selection is so wide. Can’t wait to go back! (& I also loved that Daisy the Boxer was there to keep me company while I searched for books)

Dog lovers enjoy! Store is a mess and looks nothing like the pictures online. Dogs following you in the bookstore, dog stench throughout; a thoroughly unpleasant experience.

Such a variety of books to choose from! I especially like their Classics section. Plus you get to visit with the store mascot, Daisy, a boxer. She is very sweet!

My favorite used book store, and not just because it's across the street. Daisy, the Boxer who greets everyone, is such a friendly dog, and it's so fun having her there. You never know what you're going to find. Every time is a new adventure.

Stopped by for the first time and was warmly greeted. The gentleman working helped me find some books I was looking for and, being that it was my first time, explained their credit system for trade-ins. There are a lot of treasures here, including many classics for children. The books that I looked at all seem fairly priced. I will definitely be returning.
