We’ve stayed here twice, basically because it’s the most affordable place we could find in the area that had a good rating. It has a rustic charm — lots of flowers and a picnic/grill/fire pit area out back — and it’s clean, but don’t expect updated rooms. As usual these days, no hangers and only one bedside table. Our room (#11) had a desk with chair plus an apartment-size refrigerator with separate freezer!! We found the staff to be pleasant.

Very basic motel. The TV had no sound and we couldn't change the channel. After getting help, which wasn't very hospitable, we realized you had to basically put the remote right up to the TV. Then we realized it was on descriptive audio and had to figure it out. But other than the TV and not very comfortable beds, it's definitely a budget motel. They had plenty of hot water, a fridge and microwave.

This place is great it's one of my favorite for stopping in the area they always have a room available The rooms are always clean comfortable you can park in front. They've been updated and is coffee shop up front. Front desk closes early so you got to call early and let him know you're comingSafety: Nothing about the place made me feel uncomfortable

Rude and uninformed staff. Made us change rooms 1 day in due to their error. Rmmv.Edit: new room doesn't have a fan or any exhaust in the shower area. So taking a shower makes the room hot and humid. Another reason to avoid.

Sam was awesome! He gave us pointers where to eat, where to hike and what other things we might want to do. Sam has a lot of character and I wish I could have talked to him longer. The room was quiet and comfortable and everything worked. It was very clean. If you are looking for luxury accommodations then you probably want to look someplace else, but if you need a place to stay that is clean and comfortable then you really can't beat this place and the people here. The little kitchenette really helped us since we stayed here a week and needed a place to make our food.

Got a room without a reservation, and stayed an extra night because the area at the Wood river is so beautiful in the fall. Michael is great! Beds are super comfortable, I slept awesome. Room is great size and clean. Area is quiet in the evenings. Full size fridge was great. No table in the room though at all, not even a small one like dinner tray. Bathroom is very large, but not used well. No shelf or cabinet for your toiletries, nor a hook, absolutely no space on the sink! I can’t even imagine with 2 people! Had to put everything on the floor. Room curtain needs to be replaced, and track as well.

We stopped at High Country Motel with no reservations. Martin was very hospitable in getting us a room for our dog. The room was fantastic and very well kept. The sheets smelled like they were fresh from my home washer and dryer!Aside from the great room and service, Martin and Sam do wonderful wood working art. They were happy to share the stories of how they have put a lot of excellent work into this Motel in the last couple of years and it definitely shows! They have a playground with swing set and amazing firepit to sit around at night.If you're looking for a friendly well kept hotel with great stories to be shared then this is the place to stay!

Was great for the price. Cozy, really friendly owner. Clean. Full size fridge is really nice to have for a 3-night stay. Not super quiet, but I sleep hard, so it didn't keep me up. I'm certain if we'd needed anything the owner would've done what he could to accommodate.

The room was fine. Would have been nice to have more than one channel on the tv. Also would be nice for them to have any kind of rules here. The neighbors next to me had a party all night yelling outside my window setting up table and drinks outside the door. More of their friends came thefts next day and took my parking spot for my room with more clutter outside the doors. Needless to say I checked out a day early to drive home and get some actual sleep.

This place was great! Had clean rooms and really nice character about the motel. The front desk man, Don was amazingly helpful and went out of his way to help me get a room when I had made a reservation for the wrong day. It was my lucky day and thanks to Don I had somewhere to sleep last night. Thank you so much man. I will definitely come stay here again!

When I first saw the outside, I thought it would be like every other motel I had been to. Little did I onow, the rooms were very cozy and clean. Everything was kept up with very well and the man at the front desk was very kind and polite. Would recommend to anyone and would definitely stay here again!

Stayed here twice now. Same attendant was very helpful. Modest pricing. Love their kitchenette without a stove! Such a great price! & so close to Sun Valley! Loved the adult love seat swing out back.

Beautiful room, comfortable bed, QUALITY bedding, CLEAN, quaint, PET FRIENDLY, BEST PRICES AND QUALITY TO BOOT.On top of this is the gentleman who manages the place. A very kind human being. Professional, personable, kind, polite and just a nice man in general. For a (2 STAR DOMICILE!?!?) I expected a LOT less. To walk into such a beautiful room with all my favorite colors and be able to lay down in such a comfortable bed I would have expected to pay a much higher price in this area.If you are in Bellevue, Idaho stop in and spend a night in GOOD rest! I would come back again and again.Hey...whomever does the ratings of these places REALLY underestimated the quality of the Hi Country Motel. The guests have a MUCH BETTER idea of what the quality is. And we have voted!!!THANK YOU SAM!!

1 star motel is about right. I wasn’t expecting much for our reservation here but we reserved a double queen room and we’re told they were all full and could only give us a single. Frustrating, but not the end of the world. But the room we received was crawling with bugs, had exposed electrical outlets, holes worn in the curtains and burnt out light bulbs. I know you get what you pay for but I was surprised by nothing being done about the error in our reservation and the general state of the maintenance of the facility (or lack thereof)

They were able to shift things around last minute to get me in for a week. The price was more than reasonable, especially for the state of the Valley here.Clean rooms. Accommodating staff. Comfortable stay. Would recommend.

Wonderful little place and the owner Sam was amazing 😁 he has great artistic talent with the wood fracking and if you're up for a little hang sesh, he'll come get you to show you how its done.Oh, and the room was good too 😌 simple, clean, what more could you ask for.

This is low, low quality on ALL levels. Poor customer service. The blankets and comforters on beds here are replaced on a monthly basis. Per the room service staff. This should only be a last resort stay. The best thing about this stay is the restroom was nice and the water pressure was a pleasant and unexpected surprise.

For a basic motel in glitzy Sun Valley, the rooms were clean, in good condition, had all the amenities I didn't expect for the price including mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker, comfortable beds (I have a bad back so this is crucial) shower with excellent pressure, and the kicker--every sports package an American man could want on the cable box. It was such a surprising pleasure, I had to write a review. Also heard they offer discounts for construction workers staying for the work week. The only miss was the towels were a bit scratchy and the soap is extra-thin. Other than that, total slam-dunk value. Will be back again!

I loved it! Normally go to "nicer" hotels, but tried this out. Front desk lady was SUPER NICE! Called us on our way in to town to see what time we'd be arriving. Very friendly. Room was clean. Would stay again!

This hotel is amazing. The owner was extremely friendly and appreciative of our business. He had everything ready to go for our reservation so we didn't have to wait around. He was friendly, helpful and accommodating. There was lots of parking and the hotel was extremely easy to find. It was a great location to stay in for visiting Baldie/Sun Valley. Once we got to the room, I was excited about how nice they were. They are newly remodeled, with great beds, chairs, kitchens, microwaves, kitchen sinks, fridges, tvs, newly done bathrooms, lots of cabinets and to top it off welcome chocolates and a nice welcome note!! The room is clean and smells GREAT. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in this area.

This hotel is very cozy and laid back. Exceptionally comfortable beds! The staff goes out of their way to make sure you have everything you need during your stay. Very nice people! A great place to unwind and relax.

Very decent place. For $90, you can't beat this price. You get what you pay for, and it is very peaceful. Free WiFi is a plus. Sam is a very awesome guy, he upgraded me to a suite, for the same price as a standard room after staying a few days.

We called and booked a room for two adults and two pets, he asked if I just called and I said no, he told me he had a room, I asked if he needed a cc, he said no just come here before 8 pm, I told him we were in Arco and be there in an hour, we arrived and he first told me they don't accept pets, then he said all five pet rooms were booked, so apparently he gave our room to the the person who called before us, luckily silver creek hotel had a room for us. Your motel looks like a cute cozy place, just didn't get the opportunity to try it out.

Our beds were comfortable and the shower was hot. There was a fridge, microwave, and 35" flat screen. If that's all that you need then you won't mind staying here.

I stayed at High Country because it was the cheapest place in the valley. With that said, I had expected worse than it actually was. The exterior was clean and charming. The room was a mixture of dated furnishings and cheaply updated fixtures, and was "clean" from a health safety standpoint. The carpet could have used a deep clean or replacing. And the closet door was broken off and laying beside the closet. I would recommend this place if you're looking for a cheap place to lay your head and can look past minor disadvantages.
