Good sized local grocery store that has everything you would need. The meats and produce look really fresh. The store staff are super friendly and answered any questions that we had. I even found some Hawaiian candy that I had not seen since I lived on Oahu 50 years ago!

So who knew you can’t really find Hawaiian Cuisine in Kauai? I was beginning to think I’d have to leave the island and fly back to the mainland for some ersatz Hawaiian imitation food. And then I discovered the plated meals available at many of the hot deli section steam tables in many of the local markets, and the Big Save Market in Waimea did not disappoint !!! We engorged ourselves on Kalua Pork, and a delightful pork-over-rice stew that was both flavorful and delicious !!! … although I did have to shoplift a bottle of Honey Barbecue Sauce for my wife, so she could customize her kalua pig…

What’s the deal with the western union service ? Every time I come in for a transaction I’m met with unpleasant behaviors. Just today i was told that they’re too busy to come back later. Why not put a note or a close sign or even offer a service that you can not provide. Unprofessional

Only thing I bought was some kombucha because a lot of the food looked old and there was a musty smell in the store. Even the expiration date on the kombucha was coming VERY soon. The ice cream and frozen items looked freezer burnt. It's one thing to have items that would normally be in a value / discount store but if your pricing is still high, it's just illogical.

I am all about saving a bit here and there so I went in one day for breakfast. They have a little cafeteria style area and I got some eggs and portuguese sausage(delishhhhh) for $5They had several options if you want to be budget concious so you can splurge somewhere else ;)

I dropped in here today to pick up some rum and orgeat syrup to make mai tais. I found the rum easily enough, but I searched several aisles trying and failing to find the syrup. I passed by multiple store employees who pretended not to notice my obvious need for assistance. I finally approached one and asked if they had orgeat syrup. Clearly bothered by the inquiry, the employee annoyedly claimed she had no idea what I was talking about. I tried to explain, but got no further. I left the rum behind and found another store to give my business to.

I'm staying at a nearby lodge and this is an amazing grocery store packed in with quality products. Prices can be higher or lower. For example a strip steak is cheaper here than it is in North Carolina, same quality. Cereal is $2 more. Know your prices.

Know that this is a grocery store in a tiny town on a remote island and prices will be higher than what you're used to if you're from the mainland. They stock a good variety of products to cater to locals and tourists alike. We needed detergent and we're able to choose some from a large variety. The cashier was extremely efficient and parking was ample. I would recommend this to anyone who needs to pick up some essentials!

Not a huge selection of groceries. You've gotta catch it in the right day for fresh produce. They're at the end of the delivery list so they get the leftovers, pretty much. The staff is about 50/50 as far as friendliness goes.

They have everything you could need for a relaxing stay on the island. So grateful for this store. The people who worked here was nice and the prices for food weren't too bad. It was nice having this place located in such a perfect spot. High recommended going here if you are in town and need something

This was the perfect place to stop in and get some groceries for our stay in Waimea. They have a good selection of liquor, wine, and beer. The food selection isn’t extensive but it offers what you need. Quick in and out and everyone found something.

Location: We ate here in the way to our rafting trip out of the harbor.Service: Fast, not very friendly, but who needs friendly when you are at a quick stop grocery store.Food: Surprisingly exceptional. I won't lie I was nervous to eat out of here just due to the look of the outside. But do not let that fool you! We followed all the locals in here to the breakfast section. We chose rice, scrambled eggs, and a hash brown. Mixed it all together in the to go box, and we had ourselves on delicious meal!

I was disappointed with the lack of soda selection in the coolers and unfortunately, the fried chicken was not even warm and I struggled to eat 1/4 of it. What a waste of what I thought was going to be chicken.

A crowded store with small aisles at least two quite unhelpful staff members. There was a dead cockroach on the floor in one aisle as big my thumb. The bathroom was very dirty. The location - just off the road before you start driving up the canyon - is the best thing this place has going for it.

So my wife and I go in the store for a case of seltzer’s and when we get up to the register my wife gives her ID. She turned 21 at the beginning of this year. The cashier types in her birthday not once but THREE times. Mind you she’s a 2000 baby so the math is simple... I then offered to grab my ID because I’m two years older. She then tell us my wife cannot pay for it, even though she is 21 with proof of age. I pay then ask to speak to the manager. Let me clarify that I was the one with the issue not my wife. The manager Leialoha talked to the cashier first and when I tried to speak to her she told me “first off this is between me, the cashier and her” speaking about my wife. Are those the first words a manager should say to paying customers? Then she went on saying she knows my wife but then called her someone else’s name. I had to correct her on that too. She laughed and dismissed me and embarrassed me in the store. I do not appreciate my wife and I being treated that way especially considering we have age and proof to go along with it. That manger was rude and she should not have talked to me that way. I won’t be shopping or supporting big save anymore. Foodland and Ishihara have better food and better customer support and service. Go there if you want a good grocery shopping experience.

Great store and I'm always greeted with a smile here. Just about anything you could need you'll probably find here at a decent price. If you are after something that most people wouldn't need, then you probably won't find it here so take that into consideration. My only complaint is that I wish it was just slightly bigger but that's obviously being nit picky.
