Pretty nice Safeway - very clean and organized with all of the essentials. Has plenty of self-checkout registers as well as manned registers. Good selection of local produce and nice range of poke and sushi. The store is one of the older formats, but is very well maintained.

Modern, well stocked and clean store. In store bank and Starbucks. Public restrooms and eating area. Mask mandate still in effect. Cart cleaning now less intense, hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes often absent at entrance. No recent changes. The remaining current County COVID restrictions are soon to be ended, so things will probably change once that happens.

As is always the case with Google Maps and Maui, the site here shows it will be closed at 2:00am but once I arrive having driven all the way across the island, it was closed at 11:00pm.We have self-driving cars, we've covered the Earth in satellites, but we can't get the store hours correct.

It very clean and neat, I find the work force to be very patient and helpful, plus they maintain a good stock of supplys, groceries and sundries. In addition the deli, bakery and all things related are kept well organized and fresh. I actually enjoy shopping at this Safeway and I do regularly. It’s been a plus for me because they’ve kept the prices at a very respectable rate when they could have pinched us and played politics like so many stores have done. I don’t sense the greed that seems to be more and more prevalent these days.Thank you very much,Richard Lehman

They have a lot of everything (wrong things) variety is limited. where are the Maui onions? why are bakery rolls in giant bags. Alcohol is overpriced, fried chicken is overcooked, and Poke... is delicious every time. Really good.

This place is so much better than any other Safeway I’ve been to in the past. Everything is so fresh, and they have an amazing selection of a ton of awesome things. I’d definitely recommend the Poké section. Chris from Poké was incredibly helpful, and the food he made was delicious (I’d recommend the Kalapana Ahi). Anything you need on the island food wise, you can find here!

I don't normally choose Safeway for my grocery shopping, but it was $5 Friday and got on the wrong bus and Safeway was closer and open! Due time constraints and public transportation, I also had to be able to carry what I purchased. Of course I over spent (over $125). I told the cashier to let me know my balance due after my first card. To my surprise, she said everything was covered! I was shocked! It turned out that I made some purchases that gave cash back discounts, points and a happy, free shopping evening and managed to get on the correct bus home!

I noticed they are price gouging. The price of my coffee went from $24.99 to $32.99 within past 3weeks. Then you have buy 3 bags of chips to get a good price. My family is not that big. Almost $6 for bag of chips is ridiculous. And my dad on Mainland worked for Vons Supermarkets, Albertsons stores. I am so sad.

I have been going there since day opened. They're fairly new. The manager, the pharmacist, and the help are all wonderful, they help you find things by walking there with You andt not just pointing.

Much better than all the other Maui Safeway stores. Too bad their prices are such a rip off like all the Maui Safeway stores. They have no shame or conscience when it comes to overcharging their customers. They sell some items for twice as much as Target or Costco and could care less if you don't like it, because they're only here to maximize their profits.

Why is this the best Safeway to exist on the planet?Could use more musubi, but overall my favorite Safeway. Ummmm…also the pharmacy staff? Amazing. Produce was great. Store is super clean.I used to cruise down here on my breaks when I worked at MMH and this lil stroll through memory lane made my heart go pit pat sputter svt to pvc and then back to normal sinus. 🌺❤️

They always have the freshest, healthiest fruit bowls that are better than a sugary dessert. They have healthy boys of melons, berries, grapes, apples, etc. It's the perfect end to any meal - light and healthy

Cashier today was so so sweet and fun....local lady super helpful to kids in front of. Me even though I was anxious to get out....Her demeanor helped me feel calm and happy....the Aloha spirit is alive...Wish I knew her name!!It's Halloween today... forgot to mention this is great place to observe some paranormal activity!!! 💀👻

This is in regards to the Pharmacy. I dealt with them 3 times and 3 one-star experiences. First, head pharmacist was unfriendly. Second, I drove 40 minutes to get my prescription and when I arrived, they only had the expensive version, that was 8 times the generic price. So I turned it down. Also, you don’t get cell reception in the store. So if you use goodrx or something like that, you literally have to leave the store and hope you have all the correct info. The pharmacy refused to help find a coupon. Third, afterwards, a few days later I started to receive text to pickup my prescription. So I called a few days later to see if it was the expensive version or generic. When I called, they said they had no record to that had a prescription.This is truly a worthless pharmacy.

We go to Safeway quite often to go shopping is very close to our home and they usually have a lot of sales the people that work there are very friendly and since I am disabled they have those extra cards you can ride around in that help people that can't walk that well

My favorite grocery store by far. They have everything you need and more. Local & non-local. Plus great customer service. I literally shop here for 90% of my needs. Even slippers! So clothing is the only thing I don't shop for here 😂

Safeway is a typical grocery store, has everything you would need. $5 Friday is a great day to shop with items changing weekly from sushi, to chicken wings, to lobster tails at only $5.

All staff and managers except 1 (he's the ONLY ONE who gives me a hard time & asks me to go & get off premises (I'm houseless ,have my HUD voucher tho & am looking for place to rent,I have security deposit in cash) HUD does not pay 4 security deposit,....now I know why most people end up losing it cos who has up to 1,724.00 in usd nowadays on hand?? ME I SAY!! I DO!! And still can't find a place! I'm thinking of getting it transferred 2 the madland!! But yes this Safeway is by far the best for what we have in Wailuku! Love all of the staff ! Going to miss everyone if I leave!.♡ ❤ love u Safeway family who's gotten me thru my husband's killing,the fake pandemic and now the poisoning of my beloved 1/2 Pint Buttercup! We love this store. Few tourists shop here it is mostly locals and rarely crowded. They also have a very good pharmacy here. Very good selection of fresh produce and everything else that you'd expect to find in a major grocery store. Starbucks and American Savings bank on site too.

Tasty deli, bakery(love the half off daily specials between juice chill and the pharmacy). Safeway corporate mainland distribution usually keeps the shelves well stocked but do beware of the ever present pandemic/inflation stall effect. Meat dept. has some definite "Club Card" savings, esp. on roasts, ribs, steaks, and dont forget about $5 Fridays of course. Beware this store only provides one ADA sit down cart for disabled customers. Air-conditioning is cool and comfortable throughout the store, produce dept is diverse and spacious.Clean, available, banking, Starbucks coffee, fairly large layout.

This store has gotten better. Stocking is much improved and so are the sales. The sourdough bread they bake here is very good. However it would be nice if they carried more local produce instead of Mexico.
