Even if you’re on the west side of the island, it’s worth the drive over just to visit this place! It’s the nicest gift shop and art shop, with the most beautiful gardens—be sure to walk through the “secret garden”—and fabulous meals, fresh and organic. They have signs on the tables of hand crafted sculptures, jewelry and such saying “Please touch!”

Best description is that this is a hidden gem. It was by fluke we stopped in. The location was beautiful with an indoor cafe and plenty of outdoor seating too. We sat in one of the greenhouses and had a wonderful lunch. I’m gluten free and was pleasantly surprised there were so many options for me. I ended up with the Mexican casserole that came with salad and soup. All of it was amazingly good. Others had the lasagna, quiche, taco salad, and bean burrito. All of us loved our food. The environment was so different than what we are used to being from the Southwest states. If you are looking for a new dining experience, this is the place to go.Food & drinks: This is a vegetarian place with gluten free and vegan options.

Such a beautiful and incredible little spot with delicious vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free food. We enjoyed our meal out in the garden with beautiful birds and plants. The service was wonderful, even the owner was walking around and chatting with those out in the garden. Will 100% be coming back. Definitely a place you’ll want to stop, relax and have a bite in your travels.Food & drinks: Good was delicious and very accompanying for our dietary needs.

This place is a hidden gem! Our food was delicious (love the lasagna), not over priced, and eating in the garden is great. If you go to volcano National park, drop down here (5 min drive) for lunch then head back to the park to keep hiking (your park pass lasts 7 days). The staff and owner are very nice!Great for gluten free (gf) and vegetarian/vegan.

We stopped here on the way back from Volcano National Park. So glad we did! Food was excellent. Each meal comes with soup and salad. I had their burrito special of the day that came with a brownie square as well. Salad was well balanced. I had the miso mushroom soup and my husband had the curry lentil. They both both delicious. If I'm back in this area again, would definitely eat here again!

Great service. Good value. My family and I had an excellent time here and didn't want to leave this gorgeous, sacred place! A must visit if you're up on volcano. Friendly staff. One of the best and friendliest vegetarian restaurants I’ve ever been to. The outdoor dining space is in a beautifully decorated garden. This place is very peaceful and relaxing! The host (he’s an artist too) was extremely nice and friendly. The food was very tasty and healthy. There’s a cottage (accommodates two people) attached to this place. There’s also an art gallery and a store selling unique artifacts here. This restaurant is a must visit in the Volcano Village. Don’t miss this place!

This vegetarian cafe and artist retreat/gallery is better in every way than you'd expect. The food is just excellent, the setting a perfectly pleasant little nature space complete with tree grove and bunny hutch, and the art for sale is everything from magnificent and expensive paintings or and other fine art to pretty affordable but hand-crafted and surprisingly original trinkets or prints. Completely worth a trip all by itself, with friendly staff.

This is truly a GEM of a location. Not just a good lunch but ART EVERYWHERE and so many plants! I actually enjoyed it more than most botanical gardens. It was a perfect lunch spot for our toddlers to run around while we ate in the garden. Then we got to enjoy the walking path through their jungle/yard. The owners were so nice and attentive too. Truly a special experience.

This oasis is a delight. The grounds are a spiritual experience. To be able to roam the gardens, taking in all of the beauty and dedication that it entails, is an experience not to be missed. Be sure to visit the garden though the back gate- it can replenish your soul. And the community that makes up the team here is absolutely genuine and welcoming. And we ate a terrific meal and found many great gifts at the gallery! I am full of gratitude for Ira and his team for creating this beauty and sharing it with us.

Amazing little spot to eat at before/after heading to Volcanoes National Park. The food was wonderful. They have plenty of outdoor seating on patios, and in greenhouses. Plus a really cool gallery with work from local artists.

Always a magical time at Garden Arts! I have taken a ridiculous amount of photos in the gardens. So many talented artists are represented and the prices are reasonable. Something for everyone! The cafe has a deliciously small menu that changes seasonally. Never boring. Can't wait for my next visit!

All I can say is wow. Probably the best food I had in Hawaii and absolutely amazing value for money. The staff are fantastic and the location is simply beautiful. If you’re visiting Volcanoes National Park and want to stop somewhere for lunch, don’t hesitate to stop off here.

A perfect place to celebrate Mother's Day! As always, a delicious lunch followed by chocolate cake and fresh strawberries. Our very most favorite place to be in Hawaii. Thank you, Ira, for creating a bit of magic for all of us. :-)

I’ll start with the pros: this cafe has a beautiful garden, nice tables, and easy parking. Now the cons: Artichoke panini was very bland and small. It just has canned artichokes, tomato slices and some hummus, so it lacked flavor :( Salad was basic, had one small tomato cut in half. I got the mushroom miso soup - it was pretty good for a miso soup, with lots of mushrooms, but $20 for the whole combo seems overpriced.Maybe the non-vegan options are better, pictures of the lasagna looked good.
