Rented a cottage on airbnb. It had a kitchenette with fridge and microwave. The water was hot. It got cool at night but there was a heater and plenty of blankets. The room had chickens and goats right outside! Would definitely stay here again! 5 minute drive to volcano national park.

The place is beautifully kept, with a lovely old collection of books, handicraft etc. The room was very pretty and comfortable. The farm on which the bed and breakfast is, is run by a wonderful lady, Joan who serves up a breakfast of farm fresh produce! Loved my visit, only regret that we were so busy visiting the sights on this island that we didn't have more time to spend at Aloha happy place!Mahalo

We were excited to stay because of the reviews, but apparently this owner never answers to any calls or emails, it states there’s no late checkins and you need to call prior to “get access to the key”, well we called for days!!!!! All up until the day off; it was horrible!!!! We had three flights to get to Hawaii and in between every flight I was with Expedia trying to see if we can get any information about checkin…. Expedia couldn’t even get an answer, absolutely ridiculous and stressful!!!! We had to last minute, “walk in a Hilton” and pay more money, which is honestly fine with us because at least there is someone there at all times to answer your calls. After this experience, I will NEVER stay at an air B and B, this was an absolute headache and it ruined the beginning of our trip, I did put a claim with Expedia and waiting for a refund, I don’t even know it we will get our money back but it was an absolute waste. I would give them 0 starts if I could for the lack of communication.

It IS a place filled w Aloha ANDHappiness. Clean, roomy bnb. Owner Joanie so sweet and filled w ho'okipa ( hospitality)for all her guests. Fresh homemade apple pies, fresh produce (beets, lettuces...), eggs, plants, even ginger elixir for tummyaches!Tame barnyard pets roaming around the spacious rainforest grounds. Sometimes lauhala weaving classes on the premises. Like your second home in Volcano Village.

Arrived to a vacant facility with nobody responding to voice-mail, email, car alarm blaring etc. Returned next morning and baligerant "owner of 30 years" lecturing and becoming aggressive I turned and walked away.Owner claims she held room (because she probably. Couldn't fill it) to "fulfill contract" and insist cancelation is full fee. CC contest to come. Not a place anyone should be staying in my opinion. No option for negative stars.

Joan the owner is AMAZING! I'm a former B&B owner and have a deep respect for the hard work it takes to give every guest. We drove by this charming B&B and couldn't help but stay when we saw the place. Joan was super friendly and accommodating by accepting us without reservations. We stayed in the Cowboy room where she even put giant stuffed animals on my son's bed to greet him. We were blown away with the care and attention to detail she provided in giving a true Hawaiian aloha experience. The home is Victorian and rusticity beautiful. We slept wonderfully In an antique bed with plush linens. To top it off aside from the pastries, cereals, coffee, the butter was homemade, she served us homemade yogurt, granola! We also stock up our cooler with delicious edibles farm stand where she sells herbs and veggies from her garden as well as breads, and the most amazing bunt cakes, breads, preserves and goat cheese! I am in awe that one woman can do so much. I would say this place is perfect for people who can appreciate an authentic farm to table local experience. Skip the pricey hotels, this place is a steal! We've already referred several friends there and will be back!

Our host was very nice, check in was easy. A continental style breakfast was provided. My only complaint was that the hula hut was slightly musty smelling.

SCAM ARTISTS ! ! !They told us it was ok that we did a later, not late, check in. We called them over and over with no answer or call back. Expedia couldn't even get them on the phone. This was over 2 months ago. I literally called them now, and I live in Florida. They STILL didn't pick up and their mailbox is full. HORRIBLE company. They should be ashamed.
