Good selection of local treats and snacks and they have all the essentials too. The poke didn't look super fresh so we passed on that. The cashier was super friendly though, overall a nice place to grab what you need.

Better than average for a resort town grocery. Poke is crazy expensive. Decent beer selection. Very friendly staff. Recommend the pre-made turkey and cranberry sandwiches. Grab a quick coffee before you head out to the Napali Coast...

I've been to Foodland on Oahu, Maui, Big Island and now Kaua'i and I am shocked at how high the prices are at Foodland Princeville. I had a 10% off a purchase of $50 or more coupon from my timeshare, and there wasn't enough I'd purchase to even get to the $50 mark.I have Celiac and asked one of the women behind the counter if any of the poke did not contain soy sauce. I legitimately could not understand anything she said, so I had my husband ask her and she told him to ask the meat counter for some unseasoned as they're the ones that make it. Only problem is, there is no meat counter at this location! If it's made off site, just tell us that instead of sending us for a lap around the store.$9.99 for a bag of 3 bell peppers, $19.99 for an Udi's gluten free frozen pizza and $9.29 for a loaf of Schär's gluten free bread is outrageous. My husband and I ended up driving Lihue to get groceries at Costco, Times, Walmart and Target and suggest you do the same.Visited: January 2023.

Great store. It’s amazingly well stocked. The poke bowls are delicious as well!

They have a good selection of what you would most likely need. The fresh fruit and vegetables are amazing. Every time we shop here the checkout lines are nuts, so plan for that.

The staff is very nice and helpful. Prices on a lot of items are very high (even for the north shore). Product selection is hit or miss. Go to Big Save in Hanalei or Kapa'a instead. If Sprouts, Whole Foods, or Natural Grocers is your jam, check out Hanalei Market instead.

Ana, the lady working at the meat section, was such an angel! The food was also great. Highly recommend

The meals from the deli are amazing, both in taste and in value. We got a "choose 2" poke bowl (2/3rds of pound of poke) and the honey gochujang chicken bowl. Both could easily pass for restaurant quality food and we could have easily fed 3 people with the food for under $25.

Check expiration dates on... Everything. I found quite a few things, both refrigerated and dry food that had expired or were about to expire. There was half n half that expired 5 days ago. Shelf stable cold brew that just expired sitting next to bottles that still had 2 months left. There are better Food lands in Hawaii. The poke bar looks good, but after seeing so many aged groceries I'm not sure I want to risk it.Unfortunately they don't have coffee flavors (like torani syrup) and I couldn't find any simple coffee makers like a moka pot.The coffee shop was still closed at 730am, despite what their posted hours say. So don't count on it being open.

This was the closest grocery store to where we were staying. It was well stocked and had a lot of ready to eat food. We were able to stock up on everything we needed.

The most expensive supermarket I've ever been to in my life. Selection was very poor if you want healthy food and variety, non existent. Even if that would have existed, I couldn't have afforded it.

Super convenient store. You have anything you might ask for: veggies, meet, deli...the poke they offer is not only tasty but nice priced! The space is clean and always parking available.

The Tako Kim Chee Poke is incredible- great Market so skip Safeway and others as it’s the same cost and just as good of a selection. They also have self checkout as it can get busy at peak times.

Gem of a small local store. On the smaller side so might not have everything exactly like you are used to for main landers but plenty of Aloha spirit and enough you can get what you need. Poke/sushi counter is a battle because it’s so good. Have seen it 18-20 deep when busy. Have never seen less than 6 waiting and it is because it’s so good! Figure out what you want before grabbing a number as the counter staff is trying to get everyone in and gone smoothly as possible. Willing to do custom sushi trays along with fresh premade. Make sure you register for discount card!! Go earlier as they seem to sell out mid to late-ish afternoon.

The poke at the deli was amazing! Well stocked with essentials, and everyone was so friendly! We found everything we needed for our family trip to the island, and the proximity to where we were staying made it easy to stop in for a quick breakfast fixings pickup or to grab something to cook for dinner after a day seeing the sights on Kauai.

Prices are high compared to stores in Kapaa and Lihue, but it's super convenient if you're staying on the North Shore!

Only big grocery store chain in a Princeville / Hanalei Area. Not as big as the other Foodland in Kapaa on the island. Prices are the same. Unlike Kapaa, this one has a The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf as soon as you walk inside.#LetsGuide: Be sure to sign up for Foodland’s Maika'i Reward (Frequent Shopper) Program even if you are a tourist. You will get the weekly discounted sale prices. The local condo /timeshare concierge also has 10% off coupons that they will be happy to give you. And if you are 60+ and have ID to prove it, Foodland has Senior Thursday’s which will give you 5% off your groceries. All you have to do is just ask. While there is a parking lot, finding a free spot can be challenging during certain times of the day. This shopping center does not have enough spots for the amount of traffic it gets. Nor is getting in and out of the lot easy either. Must have patience to go shopping here.

Great FoodLand! Love the deli section where you can purchase fresh poke and a wide variety of sushi. This is the perfect place to go for groceries OR for a picnic lunch. I especially appreciate all the Hawaiian snacks!

Best place for poke! For the cost to poke ratio, it’s honestly better than going to a restaurant. The deli is a “hidden” gem. Second time back after a year and it’s still just as good. Last time we were here, we tried a couple poke spots but nothing hit the spot like Foodland! Our running “joke” is, “What did you do in Kauai?”, “Oh we just came here for Foodland. Love the shopping, food, and experience at Foodland”Everyone there is super friendly! The key is to be respectful and not come up to someone, like the world revolves around you.Not too sure what people are expecting at any grocery store. I check expiration dates at home every time. Shouldn’t be different here. Also, you’re in Hawaii. Things are going to be expensive compared to most places? And finally, it’s the one of the only places on the north shore that has this type of selection, so you can spend the time and money on gas and go to Lihue for groceries. Either way, it takes something.
