When you walk in this market has a fantastic produce section with extra large greens, locally grown potatoes and carrots. Their meat section had a variety of rib eye, chuck steaks and roasts. The frozen seafood selection was the best with a variety of breaded fish sticks and fillets. Also, the ice-cream section had a nice variety of cookie dough and specialty ice-creams. A gallon of milk is expensive where ever you go on the Big Island. They also sell fresh local eggs and chain eggs. The clerks had smiles on their faces and it was a busy store.

Way overpriced, considering the demographic. Shopping in Kona for better goods and prices, now. Used to be the other way around. Over 9$ for a loaf of decent bread. On sale! 11 dollars for 1.5lb hamburger. $3.65 for an energy drink.

Nice clean store, friendly employees, however, the markup on the food is ridiculous, three times as high as in town stores. I feel they are robbing the community, taking advantage because the nearest walmart is an hour and a half away. I only ship there in a dire emergency. I have boycotted the grocery stores in Ocean View as they are robbing their communities.

Recently Malama market has hired a security guard for safety reasons as I was told but have been continually harrased, followed and targeted and possibly profiled by this security guard every time. I don’t feel safe much less welcomed in this store.

The service was fast, not crowded. Has a little table outside for a bite to eat. The sandwiches seemed old and mushy. I brought shrimp poke and that wasn't good either.

Great people work here at Malama Market. But they had a problem with one of their freezers for years, everything out of it was freezer burned. And that's where they stored their ice cream. I did not know you could freeze burn ice but evidently you can. Anyway, corporate finally came through with the funding for new freezers. Yay! And their fresh made sandwiches are always fresh, not soggy like at other local markets.

Best grocery store in town and decent sized for its location. I’m comparing it to other grocery stores in the area rather than mainland store. Has fresh vegetables and fruits. Some locally grown. Anything else you need is available. They sometimes have markdowns which makes it more affordable. They get a lot a business so it’s often crowded. Like everywhere else in Hawaii, the prices will make your jaw drop (if you are from the mainland). The store is a little back from the road and is a little hard to miss.

Small, compact market with decent selections. Salads and dairy can be refreashed more often but we enjoy becoming familiar with the store and the staff. Responsive to requests, courteous and kind, the staff is very helpful.

Friendly staff makes a visit to the ocean view malama market very enjoyable. Still the best of the two supermarkets in Ocean View in my opinion. Recently added to the grab and go poke section...bomb spicy poke musubi. Fantastic.

It's ok but no big chain store expectations either for price or selections should be in mind. They'll fix you up far better than a mini-mart or mom and pop yet better than a Costco or such for ambiance.

Malama market is a mighty fine place where I purchase food and alcohol.Only 3 places in Kahuku to do that and I shop them all. Oceanview market is also fine and dandy to procure provisions.The ladies at Kahuku Country Market (KCM)are the best and for a small store have loads of essentials and things maybe not so . Bonus : KCM Earliest to open for you Earliest birds! 🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻

The cashier decided to make comments about me to the cashier that was checking me out. I was buying your merchandise and was degraded. I am a traveling nurse and worked all night, so I did not look my best, but I did not deserve that. The young woman cashier needs a lesson in professionalism. Even after she made the comment, she then stared at me while I was walking out. So rude! I will Never shop there again and will be telling people to do the same.

Grocery store operating in tight space. Has almost everything you need and prices reasonable considering. Have lots of items on sale and on clearance. Staff pretty friendly. Shopping carts are really dirty

There are very few places on the island to pick up or receive from Western Union and Malama market is the closest to me being about a half hour drive. I went there specifically to pick up $200 that was sent to me only to be told that they did not have enough money in their Western Union drawer and they would not be able to issue it to me until they did. Said they couldn't pull from the store and the woman shrugged her shoulders and gave no suggestion as to what they could do. When asked how I was supposed to know when they would have enough or how long it would even be until they did the response was that "normal routine is for people to call." I've never had to call anywhere prior to picking up or sending western union. When asked what would happen should they have enough and before and because of the long drive someone else makes it there before me that just walks in without calling then would they issue their money to them because they are there first and the answer was yes. How a business can offer a service and not actually be able to provide that service I do not understand.
