The shave ice is AMAZING. We got the POG combo that was served on a bed of macadamia nut ice cream. All the flavors were spectacular. It was big enough for two of us to enjoy. It was very reasonably priced and there are many benches right around the store to sit and enjoy the great weather and mellow vibe of this beautiful island! I HIGHLY recommend it!

Eating the shaved ice cones was on our to-do list ever since we heard that Kauai is famous for it. We were certainly not disappointed. Their shaved ice is different from the ice cones sold in mainland US. Their ice is a lot more fluffy and airy and their syrups are a lot less sticky and sweet.The overall experience was unique and fantastic. They also put a layer of macadamia nuts at the bottom which gives the sense of evolving flavors as you dig deeper.The cones are large and difficult for one person to complete. I shared mine with my son and we were struggling to finish it despite the great taste and experience. One interesting thing I noted was that the snow was at a temperature where it would not give you brain freeze even if you took large scoops. Having experienced brain freeze in the past I had approached this with some trepidation first but was pleasantly surprised that they were at just the right level of coldness.The server at the shop was really warm and friendly. He gave us some insight into the shop and recommended the most popular flavors which turned out to be great.Recommend!

Can be a little bit of a wait but so worth it.This is my favorite shaved ice spot, they keep the shaved ice fluffy and flavor it perfectly!Be ready to eat it quick and/or grab a straw cause it is going to melt quicker than you expect.

Abysmal service. Cashier asked for our order but then kept her back to us the entire time we spoke. Just generally unfriendly, with nothing but glares from her. Shave ice was just okay. This was the 3rd place we've been to for shave ice in Kauai and definitely the worst. They only have one single size and it's $10+ for pretty basic quality.

This is by far the best shave ice we have had on Kauai! The coconut topper makes is so super creamy. Service can take a little bit but it’s all made to order and worth the wait!

We were looking for shaved ice and this place was very close to our hotel. It was good but there were only two choices of ice cream. The place we used to go to that is all ashes now across the street from the banyan tree in Lahaina was awesome in that they had multiple choices of local ice cream to choose from. The portions at uncles are large so look at sharing. If you are more into the ice cream bottom like we are, I would go some place else.

Shave ice was slightly above average. They were out of fresh strawberries. Vanilla flavor super artificial. Ice cream maybe would have been ok except the ice and syrup melted so fast it became a soupy mess. There was juice/syrup everywhere. Never had that happen. Maybe too much syrup? Would not go back given the other choices in the area.

Best shave ice on the island. We went back 4-5x the week we were in Poipu. We tried a few other places and this was so much better. This is the closest thing we’ve had to Matsumoto’s on Oahu which is equally as good. Get the Island Nectar or POG with macadamia nut ice cream on the bottom, SO GOOD. Jason was our server and he was AWEOME! Super nice guy and went above and beyond. Good shave ice and great service.

The shaved ice texture here was great. It's legitimately shaved and not done via a blender. The flavors were great and vanilla ice cream and fresh pineapple on the bottom was a yummy added touch. One of our favorites is Island nectar but swap Macnut ice cream for vanilla.

Crazy awesome Hawaiian shaved ice. For $11 I got a small (plenty big!) with macadamia nut ice cream on the bottom, fresh pineapple layered on that, true shaved ice with coconut syrup and cream drizzle. Super yummy and great family treat.

July 28, 2022 at 6:30pm. No snow ice. No smoothies. Was told by employee that it was discontinued yet it's fully published on website. When questioned she just remain silent. *Smh* Google has it as "Uncle's Shave Ice & Smoothies" but when I walked inside I see Uncle's Shave Ice & Tea but no teas on menu *smh*. See photos of menu and name. I left and went to Lapperts next door.

Loved it. My daughter dug (and dug into) the vanilla shaved snow. I had the strawberries and cream which was surprisingly awesome... I usually am a plain shaved ice fan but this was crazy good! Definitely recommend it!!!Also last but not least the staff was great and provided good recommendations!

We went at opening time, but waited 15 minutes for them to unlock their doors. The worker seemed so unhappy to be there, boy did she have a long day ahead of her. She sloppily made our shave ice. I got the shaved snow which was delicious. Then the credit card reader wouldn’t work so after 10 mins of trying we just paid for our large order with cash. The building smells like animal poop. Also, it was pretty pricey when you add things like toppings and ice cream. One persons shave ice was over $11. While the shave ice was yummy, our experience was pretty lousy.

Wow! This is the best, amazing on hot days. The ice is actually shaved with fluffy texture-similar to cotton candy. The flavors carry throughout the treat, meaning equally distributed. 'Tigers Blood with Rootbeer'

I heard people raving about Uncle's Shave Ice and after missing out on trying 8 years ago for our honeymoon, we finally tried it and it was very meh. We previously had shaved ice next to the Chicken in a Barrel shop in Hanalei (can't remember the name) which was amazing, and decided to try this place a few days later to much disappointment. The flavors were fine but not that great.

We tried the honey toast today, and it was great, but honestly, the Shaved ice we had on a prior visit was DELICIOUS. The passion fruit sauce they put on top really kicked it up to the next level. And their ice seemed finer than other places, which I liked. There does seem to always be a wait though, so just go with that in mind.

This used to be my favorite shave ice place 3 years ago but on my recent visit I wasn’t impressed and thus 2 stars. Our shave ice was tilted I knew it was gonna fall so I got an extra plate. Which it did within a minute. However what really disappointing was that there was literally half a scoop of melted ice-cream on the bottom it wasn’t even a full scoop. How do they charge so much and not give a full scoop.
