Just went here to order a philly cheese steak at 11:50 am and they wouldn't make any for the 3 of us but INSISTED that we buy the old pre made food that had been sitting for hours. I will go and spend my money on what I desire , not what you want to get rid of. I won't ever buy any Standard Bakery items from this day forward since I better understand your business practices.

The ham, egg, and cheese croissant and bacon, egg, and cheese croissants were delicious! The Kona coffee was tasty and the service was fast and friendly. We'll definitely be back!

We visited this bakery Tuesday morning March 29 of 2022. After reading such great reviews and having great coffee not far from here a few days before our expectations were high.I don’t know what happened but the two coffees we ordered must have been made hours ago as they were lukewarm at best and frankly a bit sour. Super disappointed. My wife dumped hers within a minute and I finished nearly half of mine.We probably should have gone back to ask for new ones. The baked goods were decent however.Hopefully this was a simple mistake. I’ll pass by next time unfortunately.

I drive 12 miles each way to get Hamburger buns. Standard Bakery has, hands down, the best. They are large and seedless, and they smell so fresh. They sell those buns to several restaurants around town. Standard also sells cakes, pies, and the usual but my other favorite is the bento boxes for a quick breakfast or lunch. They do a whopping business selling their goodies to the workers and tradesmen looking for a hot homemade breakfast at 5 or 6 in the morning on their way to work. Same thing at lunch time. Soooo much better than fast food! I think they close at 2 pm. I know this because I have gone up there just a little late and missed them. I love Standard Bakery. So local, so homey, those gals are like family.

Best cup of coffee I have had on the island. There cinnamon rolls are delicious and everything looks tasty. Glad I live about an hour and a half away, or else I would probably gain 50 lbs. Yum.

It's a very small place that most tourists probably overlook. We got fried rice with 2 shrimp and 2 pieces of fish for about $10. Very good price for here. It tasted great. Will go back. Sorry they were out of malasadas.

We found a great local bakery and picked up some rolls, donuts and cinnamon buns. If you want good fresh baked goods, they also have breakfast and lunch items available. Go visit when in Kona, only about 15 mins away and you won't be sorry you did.

They say they close at 2 pm. We showed up before 1:30, but they said they had already shut down the grill, so most of their menu was unavailable. It would have been "too much trouble" to fire it up again.If they advertise that they're open until 2 pm, then they should be fully open until then.Also, there was no place to sit down, and no public restrooms. Give this place a pass.

Great little bakery to stop at. Get there early cause the sell out fast. They also have ready made bentos and coffee to choose from. They make amazing cakes and pies to order. Little whole in the wall right next to the parking lot.

One of the few remaining gems in Kainaliu. I'd love it if more tourists would go there to grow them even more, but then there wouldn't be enough bentos for the rest of us!

I pop in atleast once a week n always leave happy...super easy grab n go bentos n musubis...prices r w way good n amount of food guarantee make u full...n food is ono...omg the tripe stew is a must try for sure home made...buggah is action...anyways almost everything on there menu is ono...

Stopped by while on the way back to Kona. This is a small local shop with amazing malasadas. Also tried the cocopan rolls which were fabulous!
