I bought some wrong fittings for a plumbing issue and the return went smooth and easy. If you are staying on this side and need hardware stuff this Ace location is a convenient option.

Just had the worst knife sharpening experience ever - epic fail. They have a robot that basically sharpens the knives for them instead of the proverbial old guy who's been there 20+ yrs.I was not impressed. The knives are not only not razor sharp, the edges were profiled wrong and my Tanto blades were both rounded at the transition! 😡 Not happy!! Attendant didn't care that he jacked up my S&W Kabar and nice D2 and G10 folder nor did the shift lead who checked me out. Charged me $7/blade that wasn't sharpened properly. Never again.

Check availability before going to the store. I'm glad I did yesterday, as the website & app showed the item as in stock & it wasn't. Today, same thing, but I only stopped in because it was near my destination point. However, the backdoor receiver was there. I asked her about availability & she went to the front office, pulled the delivery order for tomorrow's truck. She then took my name and number to call me in the morning! They get a 5⭐️ for good customer service only!!!

Nice, well stocked ace hardware. Not very many associates at this location so you may need to ask four assistance at the front of you need it.Interesting assortment of knickknacks and sundry items. Just to give you an idea of what that means, this place has truff sauce next to the bbq supplies. By the saints, there is idiosyncratic stuff like you wouldn't expect like that all over the store of you pay attention.If you are new to town, I recommend checking out the selection of local trees and plants in front of the store. Sometimes the have good stuff like ulu trees and fun veggies at reasonable prices.

Messy, mismanaged, understocked, overpriced and with poor customer service. It's also the only hardware store in Keeau so that's the only reason anyone goes there. If you order online, it'll probably get stolen. If you go in to shop in store,you will be followed as if you are the thief. The employees project so much, internal theft housekeeping would do wonders for this business.I can almost always find a better price online. The few times I've tried going there for projects that had needs they weren't met at this location. The one in downtown Hilo was amazing! Super helpful staff down in Hilo, 1 helpfulish staff member at Keeau. The dude who dyes his hair bright colors and is tall has always be cool and helped when we asked for it. He seems to be one of the few employees who's not outright robbing the store. I've seen a lot of employees see their friends come in and look the other way while they clean the place out. That costs us all more money in the long run.As a permanent resident I truly hope this hardware store gets itself together before it goes under. Mainly because I should not have to drive an additional 20min to be treated as a decent human by a decent human. Not too much to ask for in my humble opinion.

I'm actually shocked at how well supplied this store is. Larry in plumbing is very knowledgeable and goes above and beyond to help you. Also a cashier (I think her name is Amanda) was also extremely helpful when I came rushing in the store looking for an item. She knew what aisle , shelf and area my item was on AND I forgot my rewards card which she helped me get a new one. Would recommend this store over Home Depot for smaller items.

I love this store. Mainly because of the people that work there. The long time employees are always so helpful and kind. Once in a while a bad apple gets through, but they generally don’t last to long if their customer service is not up to par. All in all the people there are great!

Always seems to have what I can't find at True Value. I appreciate not having to go all the way in to Hilo for what I need. Also, this ACE has some super cool plant starts I haven't been able to find other places, making it especially appealing to me!

One of the best Ace's I've ever been to. Staff was super friendly and helpful. If you go take all your knives 2 ½" to 15" and try out their new laser edge finisher, factory blades on all back 🤙🤙

Definitely a great place to go to when you run out of the necessary tools for the job. Here you will find a down to earth atmosphere with employees who are readily available to answer any questions you may have about any diy projects that need finishing touches, etc With good prices on a wide variety of brands. They got you covered for the job, from fuses for your son's car to potting soil for your mom's garden... it's a convenient option if you don't want to go into town only to fight foot traffic in a "contractors" big box store💯 💸🤨

Ace does a great job of bringing in good people, but they're really, really, really good at sticking it to their customers price wise. 25% - 50% more than going to Hilo, pretty much across the board. It's such a bummer because their employees are so solid an so smart. I'd swear some of the folks at the bigger stores just make stuff up when they don't know the answer - here at Ace they find the person that knows so you get the RIGHT answers.

The employees here are usually quite helpful although finding one at times can be a challenge. There are some great deals here, anytime of the year. Rattle can paint of Ace Hardware was 2 for $5.00! Great prices. If April is your cashier, its your lucky day! She not only is courteous and fast, but has like a million stored recipes in her brain should you need a new one to make for dinner!Parking lot is normally congested and if your vehicle is big, I suggest parking across the internal road, but the post office side...
