Such a vibe here, best food we’ve had on the island after 9 days. Nothing can or does compare. If you can get yourself here, hurry! It is so amazing and delicious. The vibes are chill, relaxing and totally enjoyable. We were told about it from a lady that works at a coffee shop down the street. I wish I could give her a high five for suggesting it. Awesome spot! Ordered Fish tacos, carne asada tacos and tallow fries. Seating is all shaded and covered.

Deserves a Michelin star. The fish tacos are incredible. The quality of ingredients is unmatched. From the mangoes in the salsa to the fresh fish to the pasta perfect mangoes in the mango salsa.I’ve been driving around the entire island for days looking for this atmosphere and quality. In this humble, forested cantina, you’ll find bliss. 100% would drive hours for this if I were staying in other places around the island.So good I ordered more to-go to bring back for someone who couldn’t make the trip from Kona.

Someone told us Gills had the best fish tacos ever and so we tried them today and were really impressed. The catch of the day was Ono .. our favorite!! The tacos were absolutely delicious!! Served with a fresh tropical fruit salsa and topped with pretty micro greens and a side of black beans and freshly made tortilla chips!! What a treat and a taste sensation ! The fish was immaculately fresh and the service was brisk. We will definitely visit again . Five Stars!

It's a small stop on the way to pololu valley lookout/hike. A great place to stop on your way to or your way back from the valley. They have really fresh fish dishes.Vegetarian - They have options of Tofu Tacos, Vegan Burger and sandwich. The tofu is deliciously grilled.Cost - great value for money, 2 tacos at $16 and 3 for $20Plenty of parking on the street and well worth the stop.

Oh My God this was delicious. We drove 40+ minutes to get here and it was worth it 100%. The staff was so friendly and they did have a bathroom!The pork tacos were to die for, and I think the fish tacos were some of the best I have had in my life.

Food - fish tacos are AMAZING. Literally the best I’ve ever had. We ordered more. Unfortunately, one of the tacos we received was raw (not undercooked, it was raw). They made another that was perfect.Service - friendly but it’s so busy that it was slow for non-food items. Our food was ready before the milkshake we ordered. But food prep was very very fast!Overall - would return if I was back in town. The tacos are a MUST try. And try the spicy ninja og hot sauce, too!! So good.

Great place to stop on the way to Pololū Valley Lookout. Very friendly people and great food. I had the Ono fish and chips and they were great. My wife had fish tacos and she enjoyed them. There was and early afternoon storm that rolled in and the Lania protected us from the 10 minute downpour. This is a hidden gem for sure.

2nd time in 2 weeks eating here and what a joy. The fish tacos are incredibly fresh and flavorful so I just went ahead and got them both times because why not stick with a winning formula? Honestly the salsa that's on them is tangy and is what really makes them. Hubby got fish tacos last time and fish & chips this time but substituted onion rings for the french fries and WOW! Most flavorful onion rings we've probably ever had. The fish was also fresh and battered and cooked just right but the onion rings really put it over the top.Both visits the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They have a couple of drinks that are sort of like kombucha but aren't...tonight's flavors were lavender/something & juniper berry. Hubby got juniper berry and really liked it. They were kind enough to let us have tastes before deciding on ordering them.Love the casual side-of-the-road vibe. 100% recommend.

This place is a hidden gem. They have the best fish tacos I have ever had! I don’t know if that’s because we ate here after a hike, but wow! 100% recommend. They have a small seating area, but the food is something I’ll be dreaming of.

You. Must. Stop. Here.The food is very fresh, and the laid back groove makes the food even better. Daily catches adds variety to the menu, and there's good to great options for kids (cheese quesadilla lover? upgrade to the pork!). If you're not feeling a beer, I can recommend the smoothies, and the spicy poke.The staff is very friendly and make you feel welcome. Parking is on the street, and don't get discouraged if there's a little bit of a walk.

This was my first experience of tacos on the big island. I was impressed by the use of grass fed beef tallow, coconut, and avocado oils for cooking. That is something rare that you don't find at most restaurants in the mainland. You can tell that everything is made with fresh ingredients. I wish I had more time to try everything on the menu. But the pulled pork tacos were super good!! I recommend anyone in the area to give it a try. 🙏🏽🙏🏽
