I don't know why this place has such good reviews. We were in the North Shore area one Sunday, so we stopped by just after 1 to pick up some poke. There is a half pound minimum if you're just getting the poke so we got 1/2 lb of the shoyu, and 1/2 lb of the spicy. The shoyu was a mix of old and new pieces of tuna because half of the pieces were discolored and you could tell have been marinated longer. The spicy poke wasn't even chunks of fish. It was all the leftover end pieces so it was basically tiny morsels of fish. And it wasn't exactly cheap, at $18.99 a pound - especially for fish that isn't fresh.Do yourself a favor and go to Foodland for poke instead. It's half the price and the poke is actually fresh there.

A friend recommended that we stop for this grocery store poke when we were in Oahu. It was right next to another stop we were making at the shrimp truck so it's easy to combine. When we were there, they only had two options. We went with the Shoyu Poke Bowl.I typically prefer my poke a little saucier, but this was pretty good. The rice was warm and perfectly sticky so no complaints there.I'd get poke here and then take it over to the shrimp truck for the perfect lunch.

Chef Auntie is the absolute best! She represents true aloha spirit, so welcoming and kind. She makes the best poke, must try. Loved talking story with her she’s a doll! She mentioned it’s owned by auntie Tina, she’s also a sweet local woman - GO SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESSES! (Especially by women)

This is probably the best poke on the north shore of Oahu. The fish is fresh, they use sushi grade tuna to prepare their poke. I recommend!

this poke was some of the worst very disappointed it wasn’t fresh or melting in my mouth, the spicy ahi is very different and off. The best poke I have had are on the Big Island.

I stopped buying poke here a couple years ago, because there was a hair in my poke bowl. My brother wanted to eat here earlier today, so I got a tako poke bowl thinking it must be better than it was before. When we got to our next destination and I started eating my poke bowl, I noticed there were 2 strands of hair in my poke bowl. I am definitely not eating here again. I would give no stars at all if Google gave me the option.

This store is your last resort if you really can't make it to the Foodland super. It smells bad, they practically have no fresh products, zero meat or fruits, and practically no veggies. It is a mix of a dollar store and a bad convenience store. On top of everything, I am pretty sure they over charged us. No itemized receipt! Do yourself a favor and stay away.

Came here for the poke experience. I felt it was a bit dry and not as moist as it is at Foodland. They are strict about their poke servings, nothing less than 1/2 a pound. I asked for 1/2 a pound and the Auntie gave me almost a pound. It’s still an experience and a great place to check out.

The best poke I've experienced on this trip, loved that it was in such an unassuming place. Came recommended by our host. First time trying octopus poke, it ended up being my favorite. I loved how tender and chewy it was, as contradictory as that sounds. My partner's favorite was the limu. We thought we had ordered way too much, but we sat on the beach and got through all of it (slowly).

Love this store, the store cooked meals are bangers and its in the middle of a ton of food carts. So if you need extra cash, there's an ATM in there.

After Waimea beach, I headed to Kahuku Superette (recommended by a friend from Vegas) for their poke. It's actually a supermarket. There's plenty of parking and the Shoyu poke is absolutely amazing. Just something about the sauce - it was thicker and the ahi was mmmm delicious. A container of the shoyu poke and some rice cost about $22. A bit expensive. There's no tables to sit so we just sat in the car and ate it. Well worth it.Credit cards accepted for purchases over $10.

Got 1/2lb of shoyu and 1/2lb of spicy the spicy ahi was cooked so it had the texture more like canned tuna and the quality of the shoyu ahi was not very fresh saw good reviews on this place but would not recommend, the service was good though!

An overpriced convenient store along with a poke counter on the side. Got spicy ahi and white rice served with the worst customer service ever. Counter lady has attitude and stink eye with every breath. Poke is fine but so what? If people no like you they won't come back. There's plenty other places on the island with better service than you.

Been coming for years will keep coming for years. Place is local and not your normal store. Know the ropes when you go in. Go straight to the back and choose either the soy sauce poke or limu. Don’t waste tour time with the spicy. Taste the fish if your gonna eat fish. It’s amazing. Choose either the poke bowl with rice or the quarter point or more size. Get it and love it 👍🏼

Honestly the best poke on the north shore. I came here on a recommendation and it was definitely worth it. They end up being about $13 for a small and $16 for a large (large you can share between 2 people). Pictured below is the large. I highly recommend!

Really good poke. Grab some and a little tub of the seaweed salad, find a beach nearby and enjoy. I had the Shoyu and really liked the flavors. Great rice too.

The best poke around. I am not the biggest fan of seafood so if I'm eating this it must be good. This quaint supermarket has always been the go to for my family and I whilst visiting family in the North Shore. The only change now is pricing but it is still worth it.

Been coming here annually for 6 years. Very friendly, hard working staff. Every year I break my vegan diet for this poke (no one's perfect 🐟)

If this place is the best spot for poke bowls, I’m guessing it’s for local standards and that can vary from person to person. The poke bowl I purchased was with spicy ahi and when I tried it, I didn’t really catch a spicy kick from it. The color of the fish and the sauce was also greying which gave me an indication that it was getting old. Poke bowls served at foodland, Times supermarket, or even if you order sashimi from restaurants, the fish will always have their full color, showing that it’s fresh. Greying meats should be thrown out.Anyways, Not even after 30 min of eating a quarter of the bowl, my digestive system started churning hard as if it was digesting something toxic; felt like I had food poisoning. If they see this, I hope they fix this before someone files a lawsuit for serving food that can potentially harm and kill people.

My partner and I love all kinds of poke bowls. This one unfortunately is not as good as we expected. The price is not cheap but at least we got a decent amount of fish, though the Shoyu one is way too salty and the one with seaweed had little flavour. Not the worst, but definitely doesn’t justify the price and marketing.

This is a diamond in the rough, or perhaps a rough but valuable diamond on the North Shore. A local recommended we stop in as they had the best/freshest poke at the right price - and sure enough the Poke was really good - fresh and well seasoned. You should also try the cucumber salad - really tasty. This place also has a great selection of beverages. Don't let the parking lot or posters covering the windows deter you, this place is convenient and run by locals who care about their little store.

This is Action Bronson's number 1 spot in Oahu. Or at least this is the spot in an old YT video. I have gone to this spot twice, once 6 years ago and a second time with my wife. And she loved the limu (traditional) poke. And I still find it great. The quantity you get has slightly changed and it makes sense but it is just prepared really well. The spot still looks as sketchy as I remember it, but the poke is pretty awesome for Oahu. The seasoning was perfectly balanced, not excessively salty, good portion of rice and just really fresh fish. Great spot in the northern parts of the island.

$25 for just one “Poke bowl”. Taste is more or less the same as Foodland, but too salty. Also there was a bit of a fight among the workers when I went. This shop used to be a lot better

If you love poke, then this is the place to stop as you circle the island. The best Tako poke on the island, along with their own house made shoyu ahi and spicy ahi. Truly broke da mouth line poke.

This is a nonchalant mini mart with above and beyond poke! My friends and I ordered the all 4 of the offered pokes: spicy, shoyu, lima, & tako. Everything was fresh and excellently seasoned! Also the white rice was perfectly cooked. What a great local spot!

I was ordering for my girlfriend and I and the person behind the counter asked large or small. The small container looked really small and the large looked also somewhat small to be honest. The person starts jamming as much fish as possible into that container and even says "hey you asked for a large this is what you get". Well little did I know it charges by the pound.I feel ripped off and it wasn't even good.
