Totally unique idea for a store.. buying a gift for your furry friend back home... should be a winner right... but as others have mentioned the owner has some screws loose... she kept going into great detail in front my children about the literal mechanics of dog breeding, and her 'strong' views on breeding in general, it was a tyrade... and I had to keep walking the family away to make her stop.She also has a policy that you need to show ID in order to use a credit card (because she claims so many are using fake cards), for some reason I had mine on me..

I LOVE this store! They always have unique merchandise and this is my “must” stop shop whenever I go to Ala Moana. I always find things I want for my fur babies or gifting. The staff is always friendly and helpful. My highest recommendations for all dog lovers!

Great little locally owned and operated shop. One of the few left that actually operate in Ala Moana. All kinds of cute stuff for dog lovers and a smaller selection of cat stuff as well.As of March 1st they have a 50% off storewide sale in order to try and stay open. Support your fellow locals! Don't be like some mainland transplants who care nothing about people who are born and raised here and only think politics.

Make sure you stop by True Friends when you visit Ala Moana. Kim is a true gem and has amazing custom gifts for your furry friend. We always visit True Friends when we’re on the island and they always have the best gifts from local artists! Mahalo Kim for being a breath of fresh air!

Experience was the worst I’ve ever had in a retail store. Both women working, I think one was the owner, were absolutely rude not only to me and my friend, but to everyone that entered the store. My friend picked up an outfit that looked like a dinosaur and we both started laughing because we were thinking how cute it would look on my dog. The younger lady of the two. came over to us and said in almost a scolding tone “what’s so funny?” I replied that the outfit is so cute. She snorted and went back behind the counter. As in one of the other reviews, I felt like we were being followed (stalked) as if we were going to steal something. When I told my son about my experience he said the same thing happened to him and his wife. I told a friend about it and she said the same thing. I can’t understand the few good reviews they’ve gotten with all the poor reviews unless they have Dr Jeckle and Mr. Hyde personalities. I certainly won’t be returning.

We were there on 1/7, around 1:30p and the sales associate couldn't have been more rude to the customer, and her two kids before us. When she came to us the rudeness and overly opinionated continued. She chastised EVERYONE with how we didn't know anything in how to treat our pets. She was even so rude in choosing sizes for our pets and how she knew better. She said, "I don't care if you believe me or not, you're wrong..." That wasn't even the worst of it, somehow she brought up politics and became even more rude because of our personal views differed from hers. If this business is going to prosper, they need to get rid of this overly opinionated rude person. She was even more rude to the friends that were with us and had a 16 year old dog. How someone like this can be in this business is beyond us. Never stepping foot and spending our money here. Ever!

This place is the best place to find the cutest things for your pets. I love that they carry made in Hawaii items. Also Kim at the shop really knows her products and is so sweet. She had such a positive and authentic approach, my friend and I really appreciated her help. We will be back on our next visit!

Customer service was great. I was treated very kindly by this gentleman on a Sunday night even though I showed up 15 minutes before closing. We just chatted and talked story my entire time while shopping, they had very charming products. He also had very good advice for my new puppy. 10/10 would shop again. Support local!

Owner is very rude! She offered a mall discount to my sister and when I asked her about it she freaked. She told me that my sister should’ve never mentioned it but my sister was never told that is was private. Never again! Returned all my purchases!

Pushy staff and rude woman behind the register told me off for entering my pin on the EFTPOS machine because she "doesn't let customers touch my machine". When I explained we had to use it to enter the pin she said "no honey." So we just left. Don't bother with these pushy "buy this" women that follow you around the store.I spoke with this place's CEO and he too agreed she has an attitude problem.

Even 1 star it’s a waste. The old asian lady was so rude. I was in her shop and other customers came in and she was so busy staring at the teenagers thinking that they came to rob and telling them to close the door in a rude way. Plus when my friend was purchasing a toy that it’s like $5 quality for $25, we had hard time understanding her saying “card only” but literally sounded like “quash quash inly?” And just bc we couldn’t understand her english quality she was sighting several times and gave us attitude.**go to that place if you want to get your mood 10 to 1 in a second and waste your money. Plus stinks so bad your head will hurt real bad!**

So pilau. Went into the shop and it was honestly the worst service I ever had. I was spoken to in such pilau manners I couldn’t believe this was a local spot. I just asked to confirm if everything was 50% off and she told me that she couldn’t help me if I didn’t read the sign?!Just couldn’t believe it. It was so embarrassing.I was so speechless. So I left.Hopefully she doesn’t own the shop, but if she does I just rather not. Such a shame to have a decent store go down over bad customer service from one employee.

Very bad service! Don't know her name but she spoke Japanese and she was working on 2/24 6:45p and she gave extremely bad service! She was very rude when we asked a question about our breed and she just threw the item we purchased on the counter. She chase us out of the store and she locked the door right behind us, shutting a little kid out who seemed excited to see the products! Who does that to a little child?? I understand that these guys store was closing at 7p but i experienced the worst service ever and saw the worst customer service ever! She should definitely not be in customer service industry!!!

Found ourselves walking into this shop for no apparent reason except both our children wanted to. Met Kim the owner and a short while later walked out feeling like we had met a long lost member of our hanai family. This shop is very special and wish it nothing but the best. Kim is a wonderful person who no doubt has a very special place in her heart for dogs and people she truly cares about. I can’t say that everyone who goes there would experience the same thing we did as a family but the universe blessed us with meeting Kim, and it truly was a wonderful way to end this trip and bringing our family back to visit on this vacation. Not a fan of the lady who works at this place. I greeted her with an Aloha when I came in with my mom today, and she merely stared at us. Not very nice since I live here and my mom was visiting from Canada. She came by and it felt like she stalked us as we walked through the store, not a nice vibe.

Worst customer service ever! Me and my husband went in to see if they had something for our standard poodle the lady yelled at us hey you in the corner what are you looking at! What the hell kind of service is that ! Put what we had in our hand back and left won’t ever be back and do not recommend this place another couple left with us they shook their hands and said what is wrong with that lady

I visited this store in February 2017, I was very impressed with the amount and variety of stock they had, I found the staff to be extremely helpful. I highly recommend this shop, I look forward to visiting it again, next time we are in Hawaii.
