I’ve been going to Petco for years - even when living on the mainland. It has always been awesome experience, with feeling love from the staff to myself and my animals.Unfortunately, the Hawaii Kai lacks customer service. I have managed petsmart and other retail locations; where customer service is the name of the game.I’ve been in this location multiple times, and each time we were treated poorly - and even my children were reprimanded. The first time, my kids were touching the glass on the fish tank, they workers came over and scolded them. Next time, my kids were touching the treat containers, again, my kids were scolded.My puppy, not knowing she already had her shots were walking around, and a worker said she can’t walk around, because she could get sick.Let me tell you: You are not my children’s parents and you’re not responsible for my dog; I am. The worker with black curly hair obviously doesn’t like kids, because he wouldn’t stop correcting them and giving them looks. I even said something and he didn’t even care.I will end with this - you are a pet store; kids come to pet stores for excitement and enjoyment. If you don’t like kids, don’t work at a pet store. If you don’t want kids touching certain things, then put those items where they can’t be touched. If you are afraid my dog will get sick, then have signs saying puppies aren’t allowed to walk around (which I’ve never heard of). They don’t know anything about the age of my puppy, the vaccines it has had or hasn’t, etc. it’s not their job to correct me or my children. It’s very unprofessional and not welcoming at all. I will never back at this location, because it lacks a lot of customer service from multiple employees. The worker with black curly hair that worked 12/26/2023 needs to be terminated. He has done this multiple times, and is quite discriminatory towards children.

Maybe theyre good for other pets but for reptiles go somewhere else over priced food almost all of the crickets i purchased were dead and they lied about when my order was coming. Will never recommend this store

Employees are always friendly at Hawaii Kai Petco store. I found what I was looking for (dog dental chews) on sale. Store opened a 2nd register when line got long/slow.

the maneger with blond hair she scops the fish she is so rude and so not understanding and put me down so hard like i fell off a clif and a nasty atitude this if fresh info and the cashier gerly looking man was the same i pray for those people to shape up ack right or leave and get replaced with nicer people ther lots of nicer people! never mind if you see my errors! focks im so nice and i get treated with that!

Soooo many choices! I was overwhelmed by the different brands, prices and selections of pet food. I paid double the amount for the pet food I got yesterday. Overall review is the cashier was absolutely amazing! Sorry I didn't get his name but he acknowledged me as soon as I walked in and was very kind and fast in my way out. I will give him 5 stars for sure

During an off-leash encounter, my Shih Tzu was unfortunately bitten in the face by another dog. This incident happened rapidly, within a matter of seconds. In response, I immediately took my pet to the nearby Petco veterinary clinic in Hawaii Kai. The veterinarians there were quite friendly and provided prompt attention. Following their initial examination, they referred us to an emergency veterinary service due to the severity of his injuries, which included a scratched cornea and a punctured wound near the neck and windpipe.

Hawaii Kai Petco I love them. They actually have a vet now so I can pick up my prescription dog food royal Canine. easy to order on my phone via the app. Easy to pick up. Excellent customer service no waiting time Mahalo

Nothing is ever stocked anymore. I go for shampoo, the brand I use it’s all sold out or there’s just the petco brand which I don’t really care for. Went for toothpaste, barely any selection and empty racks. Looked for a squeaky ball, the section was also scarce. What’s going on?Additionally, while at checkout there was a puddle of pee in the middle of the walkway that wasn’t being taken care of despite the cashier and one other worker being there. I get it, accidents happen, maybe the owner didn’t see, but why not have any urgency to clean up messes like this? I pointed it out to the cashier as well but got no response, maybe they thought I was joking?

I can't say I ever had an undesirable experience at Petco. The staff is friendly and they have variety of knowledge. I always feel more confident in my pet's care after leaving. Also I like that parking is easy, even when I ride my bike!

Pearlcity Petco grooming was fantastic last minute i decided to get my yorki a full service grooming I called them and they came through and Lindsey did a awesome job I will be back again for sure. I would tell all my friends and family to go and take their furry pets to petco for a treat for their doggies.

For close to two years I have been getting my dog brimmed here. The last two times were off. I asked what’s different and why isn’t Amy there anymore. When Amy was there she was excited to see our dog. Today after waiting for someone to even come out it wasn’t the same. I could hear the blow drying on and a dog cry in the back. Then was toldI would get a call when done. All the times in the past normally between 1:30 to 2 hours I would get the call he is ready. The last two times no call and I show up 3 hours and he was ready??? Why no call. I asked the manager that was rude and dismissive said it’s normally 3-4 hours??? I said since when I been condoning here almost 2 years and that the first time I heard that. I forgot I could see the cage they had him in and he could barley stand up and turn around. He was in a ball winning when I got there. Guess the remodel got to them and place went down hill. I asked to cancel my membership and they said I can’t??? Moving on and not going back to this place. Wish I knew where Amy went to work…

The store itself is great. Lots of selections and stock. Most of the staff are very helpful and respectful...except for 2 cashiers on 2 separate visits to the store that handled (and tried to handle) my small kitten in ways that I felt VERY uncomfortable about. FIRST visit, one cashier wanted to "pet" my 2-month-old kitten that I had in my carrier bag. Thinking that he would reach in and just pet my kitten, I said yes. But instead and without my consent, he grabbed my kitten by the neck, took him out of my bag and passed him to the other cashier to hold. I was so shocked that I couldn't say anything. I left the store shocked and upset. SECOND visit, the other cashier saw my kitten in my bag again, and asked again if he can "pet" my kitten. This time, I said a firm No. He then had the guts to ask me "Why?" as if my refusal offended him. After I told him flatly that I'm not comfortable with it, he proceeded to take out his cellphone and show me pictures of his own cats, which I didn't ask to see nor did I have any interest in stalling the line. I just wanted to get my receipt and get out of there with my kitten. Like I said, the store itself is great, most of the employees are helpful and respectful. But because of those two cashiers, I will think twice about going in there again.

The employees here are very patient and understanding! My dog is shy around people, so an employee organizing shelves stepped away so I could browse without Buddy (my dog) freaking out. The store is very clean and well organized, however I wish the prices were a bit lower. Other than that, I loved this PetCo store and their company as a whole. Their rewards program is awesome and I love their grooming!
