Everything you need under one roof. Produce, clothing, electronics, meats, tried goods and canned goods, home, decor, pharmacy, attire, department, deli department , etc.. lots of good quality to choose from at a reasonable prices. There’s lots of free parking, and the store is next to other stores and food venues. And it is easy to locate, for it is right off the main road heading into Hilo. One thing to take note is that the parking at most time are really congested.

It's a Walmart like every other I guess. What made our experience memorable was the girl at the register. I did not get her name, she was a tall skinny blonde with wavy hair. She was one of the friendliest people I have ever met. She realized we were tourist and gave us tips and directions for eating and getting around in the island. She seemed like she really enjoyed her job. People like that are hard to find. Well done little girl. Wish you all the best.

Great place for great value. Just like on the mainland. When I went in I was greeted friendly smiling there was a local news football team and cheer group outside getting contributions but they didn't ask any service they only asked for locals they were so cute. But when I went in the Walmart I found exactly what I was looking for swimsuits at great prices the clearance rack that was full of deals as well and $12 sarong and six dollar half along. The only downside where the men's shirts the Hawaiian ones, were 2898 or something basically $30. But they had good deals on women Hawaii shirts and tanks for about $16. They were also those active swimsuit almost bodysuit type of swimsuit they had a great selection of everything in all sizes. I mean there were zero to two sizes as well as up to 4X on the clearance rack and on the shelves. Really something for everyone or every woman looking for swimwear or a last-minute cover up. The cover-ups were about $21. I don't think that they ever really go out of stock I would imagine but I'm sure they have the cover-ups on the clearance rack from time to time too. I found all the trial size toiletry items I needed quickly. The line was almost non-existent better than my local Walmart stores. McDonald's was right inside and got rice for the kids. It was a great Walmart experience.

Hawaiian Walmart! We found great souvenirs and I was able to get a "shipload" of crafting supplies to use during our cruise back to LA! I'm a happy cruiser!!

I bought land o frost lunch meat yesterday and I opened it at 2pm today. 09/24/2023. And it was moldy. Please check your lunchmeat and meats. They removed my first review around 2:30pm about this cause I said i want to sue. And wish I could. Not checking the inventory at night for theses items. Sell by Nov 03 23Moldy. Smelled bad.

This is one of the better Walmarts I've been to.I spent some time in the Army, and one thing you learn quickly is, no matter what base you're on, there's a Walmart somewhere nearby.So, I've been to many of them and the reason I think this one is was good is because it's well kept and the staff were above average in friendliness and the ones I interacted with seemed genuinely happy to help.I even had people ask if they could help me.In many of the other stores, if you look like you're about to ask for help finding something, any staff nearby either make themselves look too busy to help or they run off to avoid you.This store was a pleasure to shop in and I would recommend it to anyone.

refund was started on 4/14/24 and has not been received. Walmart told me it would take 10 business days. it has been 13 days. Walmart owes me $236.00 but does not want to pay. WHERE IS MY MONEY?????

Walmart in Hilo is not well balanced about inventory, from my opinion. Not enough place for food, not enough yogurts all the time, a lot of empty shelves in the second half of the day, chicken is expensive all the time. Comparatively with Walmart in Portsmouth, NH, this one in Hilo, HI makes bad impression.

Don't understand why if I was just checked out by a Walmart cashier, I have to stand in line for a senior citizen to put a highlighter mark on my receipt. What are they doing? Are they accusing me and everyone else of theft? Quit wasting my time for this nonsense. I m not stopping anymore, and I hope they chase me down in the parking lot. I smell a lawsuit coming.

The prices on the website do not match the prices on the store even if you place the location. Then if you want to order the item at lower price you have leave and drive back another day when the item they already have in store arrives. Dysfunctional.

BAD !! ..grocery isles are to small. Giant metal polls block your way. It's a fire hazard 2 carts can't pass by each other. Employees filling carts for online shopping chase you out of the isles. Everything's out of stock.. It's one of the worst shopping experiences you can have on the island.

If I could give this place ZERO STARS I WOULD!!! The management here is DISGUSTING! My 3 year old threw a couple things in the cart while she was with my mother and she went to self checkout without realizing my daughter had hid a couple things. The doorman checked her receipt, she left and loaded up her car and came back in to get McDonald's. When she went BACK to her car, there was a security guard waiting for her to ask her to look into her bags. She found 2 things that werent scanned.Apparently the "thief limit" is $25. The 2 things that were in the cart were worth $25.32! So basically she got banned for an ENTIRE YEAR FOR THIRTY TWO CENTS that she offered to pay!!!??? That's not even the worst part! As they were waiting for the cops to show up, my 3 year old said she had to poop and the MANAGER looked at my mother and said, "Let her poop on the floor, I don't care" LIKE WHAT!??? That's CRAZY! A THREE YEAR OLD! And she patiently waited until the cops got there. I love walmart but this one is disgusting to me, absolutely disgusting. Never getting my money again.

This is our local Walmart. The staff are always friendly and helpful when approached & pricing is great! Downside is stock availability is hit and miss, and the it can be time consuming and stressful to find a carpark.We recently went to Walmart over Kona side and it was a much better experience in terms of stock options.

I enjoy going to Walmart it does get very busy at times so I like to go early or late. Tonight was interesting as I was walking out the alarm went off at the entrance a lady with a full wagon ignored it and a store employee was telling her to stop but she kept walking no security or workers got involved so she went shopping for free. Walmart must take alot of loss if it's that easy to steal merchandise everyone was looking but nobody did anything. Anyways, Walmart is a great store and hope they continue to serve this town.

Stopped by to get souvenirs for the family. Wal Mart prices on everything here. Clean store.Docking a star because an employee was a bit rude when I asked her where I could find a particular item after another employee directed me to the wrong area.

Closing self checkout is a bad idea. Long lines at the regular checkout is discouraging people who only want a few items. Target is a block a way with lots of self checkout. If closing self checkout is to improve customer service, somebody has their brain screwed on wrong.

Literally store associates are very rude. Tossed my wagon when I tried to leave and demanded I paid for a shirt that I owned then over scanned the amount of noodles I had in my cart and proceeded to charge me way over how much I had. The Filipino fake blonde lady named Imelda should retire or find a job in crime stoppers but lord knows she’d corrupt things there too

This is the only Wal-mart on the Hilo side of my island and it does get busy, but surprisingly enough it wasn't as busy as I would have thought. Possibly due to online shopping & rain, IDK. There were plenty of registers open and checkout was seamless.

Hilo Walmart is easy to find and lots of parking. Like any Walmart it has a little bit of everything inside and a McDonald's. Has a full grocery side and retail side from sporting goods to electronics, clothing, pet care area, automotive and you name it I think it's in there. Easy to check out with multiple lanes and carts are always available inside. The prices are not bad and cheaper than the smaller local towns.

Sorry, just can never give Walmart 5 starts. It's Walmart! BUT, from Cabo to, now, Hilo, it is the best place to get souvenirs! Really wish the Maui Babe stuff came in smaller containers...just carry on this time. Going to Athens next month. Could they have a Walmart? Have to Google it 😀

Everything is expensive in Hawaii, but Walmart has lower prices than grocery or convenience stores. Only negative was the lack of variety of groceries, and almost no produce.

The only Walmart I've been to with a security guard in a pickup outside and another checking receipts at the exit. I went a couple of times around Christmas and it was always very busy. Full parking lot and long lines at the registers. Self checkout moved at a good pace.A reasonable seltion of groceries, including bread and produce. No premade foods such as salds/sandwiches.

Food prices are pretty good and the store is clean. The staff is VERY helpful and informative. Very different from other Walmarts I have been too.
