Great menu for dairy free, gluten free, and vegan. The kombucha is on point and above. The root beer is a bit mind blowing. Tastes like root beer without the sugary grossness. All seven that we tried were wonderful. My husband wasn't fond of the Palo Santo but I thought the flavor was really unique. The fish tacos and the chicken tinga were amazing.Bathrooms are nicely kept but please make sure to help them keep it that way by cleaning your mess.

We tried this restaurant twice and loved a couple of dishes! The ambiance is decent and service is quick, the staff is friendly as well!Their basil bananza bowl (recommend asking them to make the smoothie a bowl) was so delicious- a must try, it is very different from other acai/smoothie bowls you get everywhere. The passionate dragon bowl was good not great. The vegan taco salad was very flavorful and we really enjoyed it. One thing we realised that a lot of dishes felt the same in the ingredients so we didn't order a multiple savory items but went food hopping that night. :) Food is great, but its pretty expensive :)All their sauces were great - I must say worth the buy. We'd also bought one of their beer - mango, lilikoi and guava and trust me it tasted as interesting as it sounds!Loads of tables in the restaurant. Enjoy!Vegetarian options: Clearly marked- almost 60 percent dishes have veg optionsDietary restrictions: Veg and vegan food availableParking: Street parking

We tried two of their vegan breakfast items: Banana Walnut Sourdough French Toast (sweet) and the Verde Vegano (savoury). Both options were quite delicious! I'm hoping to go back for their lunch/dinner menu before we leave the island! Oh, and the kombucha on tap was also delicious! Great vegan options indeed!!!Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian and even vegan options!!Dietary restrictions: Also have nut-free and gluten-free options

Booch bar is a great local spot with some tasty eats that gets you away from some of the standard eats you’d find on the island. Offering a nice selection of both gluten free and vegan they definitely cater to someone with more of a restricted diet! That said as a meat eater the jerk chicken tacos were still quite tasty (would have liked it coming with 3) and the rest of the food we got also felt fresh and flavorful. Can’t speak to the Kombucha as we didn’t get any but seemed to have a good variety on tap if that’s your thing. Atmosphere is a bit more eclectic but feels local and calming after a long morning outside. All in all definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area and looking for something healthy.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and dairy free (vegan) available

Love this place. I have been coming here for years. Great for breakfast or lunch. The Kombucha is fantastic. Lilikoi or my favorite ginger/tumeric…..so good. I had the blackened fish sandwich today. It was delicious along with the sweet potato salad. The staff if super and cool vibe. They have expanded as I am sure they are getting more popular for the reasons mentioned above.

We visited the Booch Bar when we were in Hilo on the Big Island. They have a lot of vegetarian options and they can make a lot of stuff vegetarian/ vegan by removing/ substituting ingredients. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal we had here - we ordered the Mushroom Bibimbap, Verde Vegano and Kombucha Flight. Everything was excellent: in presentation, quality of ingredients, taste and price.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options here - some of the other items can be made vegetarian/ vegan by removing/ substituting ingredients.

I ordered breakfast to-go at about 10:45am and the food came out around 11:05am, so it was a bit of a wait! It was a beautiful day, though, and I waited outside while sipping my kombucha. I got the Fresh Catch Breakfast with purple sweet potatoes and it was delicious! The kimchi had a lovely spice to it and the mango salsa was nice and fresh. They also sell their kombucha bottled and in cans. Before visiting the restaurant, I bought a bottle at a grocery store in Kailua - yum!

It’s hard to get a good quality, delicious and truly healthy meal in Hilo, but having found this place I know I’ll be going back again before I leave. Best meal so far in Hawaii, been here for 5 days so far. Both Mushroom Bipimbap and Matcha latter were fantastic. Presentation in real life is better than my photo.

The Booch bar is really a bar and more of a take out spot. There is seating but you have to order at the counter and someone brings the food to your table. You also have to bus the used plates and utensils once done with dining. We stopped by for a late lunch this past week. Food was enjoyable and the mahi and Cajun rice was flavorful. So we’re the fish sandwiches, jerk chicken and poke bowl. I enjoyed my meal but we had mixed reviews on the fish sandwich. The food was delicious after taking a survey of all members (5) to our party. Tables are not kept clean at all times and the ambiance is very local and mediocre. The place could use a facelift. Overall, it was a good local experience with fresh eats and fish.

We ordered mushroom omelette and blackened fresh catch bibimbap.Best omelette that I had in a while. It’s very interesting taste but in a good way.The mahi is way better than the ones we had at lots of places.Would be love to come more often for the breakfast.

Not lot of great options while in Kona, sadly the city looks really depressing in our last trip but at least one of the bright spots is this little restaurant with no signage, we got referred to it by another store which worked out. Food is pretty decent although really bizarre that they were out of fish on lunch time on a Sunday but at least plenty of options for drinks and beers. Of course overpriced as most of the spots in big island and of course they’ve got the new tip options at the counter that you’d pay over the price of the food your ordering at counter and putting the dishes away yourself once your done lol but hey it is what it is.

Friendly service, super hearty and healthy meals that tasted good too. A bit too tart though (some of the pickled stuff). We had the veg burger - tasted good, but very crumbly patty. The tostada and all the fixings tasted great but it was a badly done tostada - the tortilla was not made crisp enough so it was kind of half chewy and difficult to eat.The soup that day was a tomato red pepper soup that was nice on that rainy evening.Vegan ruben with dill / slaw / swiss cheese tasted sharp.Enough options and good quality. In terms of the ambiance - basic and no frills.

This place deserves more visibility. We were looking for a place to have breakfast in Hilo just past 8 in the morning and this place did not show up in our Google search. We came across the Booth Bar only because the restaurant we picked was tiny and full and we decided to just walk around for a substitute. What an amazing find! You can tell they use quality ingredients in their food. We ordered omelettes with house potatoes. Their house potatoes were purple sweet potatoes and they were done perfectly. Crispy outside and soft inside and not oily or greasy at all. The mushroom omelette was tasty with lots of mushrooms inside. The turkey omelette was definitely a protein bomb. Coffee was decent. In addition, this place has an interesting deco and cute display of local chocolate and jewelry for purchase. Staff were very friendly. All in all, just the right vibe in this part of the island!

Food is so ono and the ambiance makes you want to kick it at booch for a daily soul kine of pick me up. ✨✨✨ Mano Ali’i bringing all the mana in the background. Grilled fresh catch fish (mahi) tacos and fresh catch bibimbap is melt in your mouth and spike your taste buds good. Booch on the tap and generally affordable for quality of fresh, local food.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free and dairy-free options, as well as paleo-friendly.

Great spot for vegetarians. Hard to find a place with multiple vegetarian options and this place has quite a few. I got the tempeh Reuben and I highly recommend it if you like Dijon and sauerkraut flavors. The marinated tempeh was delicious by itself as well, same for the purple sweet potato salad. I also got the Moku Mule cocktail and wished it had more ginger. It was a bit dull compared to the individual ingredients. The kombucha was relatively flat so the drink wasn't really carbonated. Still, lots of vegetarian options that were more than just menu fillers.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian options. Plus they're actually good and not just menu fillers

Nice feel, tasty enough breakfast. Service is chilled out and friendly s food could be more enjoyable - out blackened fish omelette, toast (sourdough from a Kona based bakery), potatoes were screaming for some moisture. The olive tepanade was a great touch for the omelette. The kids’ sausage was a bit pricey at $5/link. Eggs were organic and perfectly cooked. We’ll proceed at )3.50 for 2. Overall, I would recommend it but will try other things on my future visit.

Delicious counter-service spot. As someone on a very limited diet, this was my favorite dinner meal on the island, and probably the best GF sandwich I've had in a while. Vegan/GF desserts hit the spot, too, along with a great selection of beverages.Edit to add: breakfast is amazing too! Nice hefty breakfast sandwich and delicious, crispy French toast. Don't sleep on this spot!Dietary restrictions: They have a list of ingredients for menu items. All desserts are vegan and gluten free. Gluten free bread available.

Food is super good. Everything Vegan or non vegan is healthy and made with love and plenty of aloha spirit. Their krauts are AMAZING and their hot sauce is super Smokey tangy and full of flavor. My favorite on the menu has to be the Booch burger which is a monster and packs culinary flavor and textures. The sweet potato salad is really amazing as well as with all of their robust smoothies. Every time I’ve been there the restaurant is super clean and the crew is really friendly and helpful. I love that they are so community based and have lots of local art, goods and service there. The Booch Bar is a definite Hilo fun vibe and experience worth a visit.

Really, really enjoyed our nourishing meals here during our short time in Hilo. Loved the variety of vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and non vegan options. My favorite was the mushroom bibimbap and the super ginger turmeric tonic booch. We enjoyed our first meal so much we came back the next day for another. Also enjoyed the chocolate and tinctures available for sale too. Wish you had a location on Maui.Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free

We chose to eat here 2 out of 7 of our mornings on the island. Food and Kombucha are unbelievably delicious and staff is friendly! A few vegan options for the vegan in our party. Had a great chat with Kai, who was very friendly and gave us a few insiders into island life.

Ordered fresh catch plate and fresh catch bimbimbap, asking fish to be grilled. Unfortunately the fish is mostly raw an undercooked - wished they made that clear ahead. Other than that the sourdough French toast is not bad, but again wished they said there’s cinnamon included as well.
