This is a 24-hour Longs Drugs that you can rely to grab your emergency/travel needs while staying in Hilo. Staffs are pretty efficient and they will gladly help you on your queries. A great help to fix some last minute needs!

The cashier I went to was very helpful and friendly. It was extremely crowded but she took the time to acknowledge me and thank me for coming by. her name was Hope and I’d go back again if she was the Xavier that would help me.

I got a text saying my meds were ready but didn’t head out to get them for about 4-5 hours. When I got there the clerk let me know it had been a very busy day and that, unfortunately my order had not yet been filled—but that she would make sure they filled it now while I waited (even at 8:30 pm the drive through is still busy and I had gone inside to retrieve the medications. ) She expressed empathy at it being strange that I got a text saying they were ready over 4 hours ago and that even now it would be another 20-39 minutes. But because she was so friendly and I could tell they were all hustling I just decided to go buy a few things we needed that I usually pick up there. When I wandered back over to the pharmacy counter she saw me coming and by the time I got there she had my meds in hand and happily gave them to me. There are a lot of places in town that get really busy and can take more than half and hour to fill a script, but there are few pharmacies in town where, despite the business, they all are usually still polite and willing to help with a smile. So for now Long’s downtown is where I fill my meds. I like being treated with respect no matter the circumstances and at Longs they often act like neighbors and I like that (( and hopefully the app will just get better with time!)

Super super bad pharmacy I had called a day before because the app told me to they simply said oh call back tomorrow your medicine will be ready. Ok I call today an now it’s not gonna be ready an I have a flight today so now I’ll be with out my medicine on another state I really hope they take my insurance the medicine I take is to help with my random seizures an will have one after not having the medicine for more than 12 hours thank you Hilo longs

They never have the medication my doctor prescribed. They take over 3 hours to fill an order. The horrible service and rude staff members make me wish there was another option.

If I could give no stars I would. The woman I spoke with on the phone a half hour ago was so RUDE! Couldn’t even believe her attitude. Please pick any other CVS than this one!!!

Longs Drugs is useful for some things such as getting goods advertised in their circular (e.g. toilet paper, canned goods, etc.). They occasionally have drugs not carried by smaller pharmacies and have convenient operating hours.That being said, the pharmacy here is unreliable and often requires several visits along with queuing in line each time. Sometimes you can get your script filled, other times you can't.The number of homeless people outside this downtown location is a bit problematic, but this is probably not the fault of the company.

I previously left a review for Longs Drugs on Puainako Street, and my recent experience with Longs Drugs on Kilauea Ave has made me realize that there is no "worst" only worse.While this store offers 24-hour service, the pharmacy service provided is extremely poor.1. The staff does not know how to process prescriptions through insurance. Even if the medication was covered by insurance, they insisted on payment out of pocket. I had to transfer my prescription to another Longs Drugs location to avoid being charged.2. The refill process is incredibly slow, even with an auto refill, it takes at least three days to process.3. When medication is out of stock, they place orders on hold without informing customers or following up when the medication is back in stock. I had to keep calling or stopping by the pharmacy to remind them I was still waiting for the medication.4. Contacting them by phone is difficult as the wait time to speak with someone is at least 30 minutes to an hour. When I finally reached someone, they would murmur, making it difficult to understand them.5. Even in-person visits to the store are no better, as long lines and employees with disrespectful attitudes and dour demeanor make the experience very unpleasant.6. Following up on on-hold orders is a nightmare, with different staff giving conflicting information on the status of the order, creating an endless cycle of frustration.7. The staff's unprofessional behavior is evident when talking with them over the phone. They give conflicting information and hang up on customers without regard to their response.8. During a loud argument with an employee at the drop-off counter, other employees turned a blind eye, and no manager intervened to address the situation. This employee even challenged me to transfer all of my family's prescriptions to another pharmacy.9. Despite my complaint to the store manager, no pharmacy manager followed up to apologize for my negative experiences.Overall, my experience with this Longs Drugs on Kilauea Ave was extremely frustrating. I’m transferring all of my family's prescriptions elsewhere and strongly recommend avoiding this Longs Drugs location.If you are also dissatisfied with the service provided by Longs Drugs, you may file a complaint with CVS headquarters in any of the following three ways. This is a great store. Is it a drug store or grocery store or general store? Yes it is. We were able to find everything we needed with a quick trip into Long's in Hilo. The workers were super friendly too.

Pharmacy never answers the phone in a timely manner and poor customer service. I hold the Supervisor and over all managers responsible. Short staff is a problem for this company. I actually feel bad for our elderly, if they are sick and call for a prescription, they may wait 30 mins to and 1 hour for someone to answer.

The employees at the 555 Kilauea ave pharmacy are very rude and they treat people very poorly! I’m currently looking for a new pharmacy to replace them! I don’t know what happened to the pharmacy workers who were nice but the ones who are there know have poor attitudes

Poor service consistently at this location. Yesterday I went to the pharmacy with my paper prescription. The counter person told me they couldn’t fill it until the next day & to leave it & call tomorrow to have it filled. Why not just fill it automatically if they had my prescription? I call at 7:00 am the next morning, I’m told by a robot that my prescription will be ready at 11:00. I call back after 11 & the robot tells me that I must call my Dr because they don’t have record of my prescription. I hold for 20 minutes to speak to a human & I'm told my prescription will be ready “after lunch”. They now close for lunch but still advertise 24 hours. I call back after lunch & I’m told it will be ready after 2:30. I was the 1st customer of the day this delay makes zero sense. Not the 1st time!!

I just went shopping at this store (downtown Hilo). It’s raining and there is no slip mats outside before entering or inside when entering. There was no signs that said slippery when when. I took one step in the store and slipped and fell. Not one employee came to ask me if I was alright. Instead a customer standing in like saw the entire incident and asked me if I was ok. A bit embarrassed, my knee feels like there’s a bruise….but I’m ok at the moment. This happened right after I got out of my dialysis treatment.

Upon entering the store, the garbage cans were both filled to the gills, practically hanging out. This is my only concern. The store was clean, however seeing the trash cans about to overflow with trash kind of made me why.

I don't know what all the complaints are for. I've been around the country. The people at the drive through window are excellent. They have the prescription ready when your doctor office calls it in and then your insurance approves. The only rudeness I experienced was inside from a dark haired supervisor or a lead of the cashiers. She acts like she cannot wait to get off duty on the mid shift. She make me sick. But the rest? Is excellent compared Nation wide.

Get there early, be here before 1:30 when they close for lunch, they're friendly, professional and you are in and out in minutes, from my long term experience! Simply the best!

Doctor called in the prescription around 11:00am and I called at noon to see if it was ready they said a half an hour. So I show up at 12:40 and they said 15 more minutes. At 1:30 they were starting to close for lunch and they hadn’t mentioned anything to me. I went up to ask about what was happening after patiently waiting and they told me the medication was out of stock. I asked why nobody informed me of this at any point and they just said “sorry your right someone should have told you.” Had I not gone up and inquired myself who knows how long I would have just been hanging out. No I have to scramble to get a hold of the doctor to have him call in the prescription somewhere else. This is not the first time I’ve had a bad experience and I have also had some of the workers give me attitude. I left so upset I couldn’t believe they would be that careless.

Never enough staff to handle the amount of patronage they get. Recently the new staff has a better attitude. Often the shelves are half empty. The real draw for me is that it's walking distance from my house and open 24 hours.

Long lines, messy store, filthy floors, poor parking lot lighting, crazy people outside creating nuisances. Medication were not ready after getting several text messages it was ready for pick-up. Associates in pharmacy are no help, joking laughing and the line wrapped around the front and down an entire isle.

My recent visit to Longs CVS pharmacy in downtown Hilo was excellent! Staff was warm and friendly which made my visit one that I’d definitely repeat! I love the vibe that’s going on there!! Dramatic changes in the overall attitude of staff!!

They do not have a window. They acted very disrespectful and unprofessional when I asked them to switch out my meds for the original sealed bottle since I don't appreciate my meds being handled especially with the covid and these meds go in my mouth. Also the humidity takes from the potency quickly. It's in the notes even to keep my script in the original bottles. The pharmacist screams across the counter yelling at me in front of tons of customers threatening and telling at me saying that I can go to another pharmacy all because she's to lazy to switch out my script with what I was supposed to get telling me I need to get a new script from my Docters when I've had this done for 5 years now. Absolutely unbelievable. I've been treated poorly since then when she's there. I'm finally switching my Parmacy. Bullied into leaving and I'm always as calm and kind as ever!!
