We have visited the shop prior to their expansion, shopped with them online, and even bought their products when they came to Oahu. My dogs and I love visiting Lava Paws and their store Pinky’s. I feed my dogs only the best, and I am forever grateful to be able to consult with owner Meghan on specific nutrition needs. She’s constantly researching and learning more about pet nutrition, and I have learned a lot from her. The NRC balanced dog food is great for me because it takes the guesswork out of knowing how much of each muscle meat, organ, bone, etc. that my dogs need. People think my dogs are younger than they are, and I have to give credit to Meghan and her team for helping me make it possible. Also, they make beautiful, unique raw dog food cakes! If I could give more than 5 stars, I would! I’ve known about Lava Paws and owner, Meghan before I even moved to Hilo. She’s always been so helpful (even when I was on Oahu)…answering questions, etc. Now that I’m here and I’m actually feeding lava paws raw food, I can see a difference in my dog (and he was on a raw diet before which tells me that not all raw foods are the same). I love that her shop sells food, treats, supplements, as well as lick mats and accessories. She sells only quality goods. I highly recommend Lava Paws!!

We took our dalmatians for a walk in downtown Hilo and found the most excellent awesome raw completely natural doggie deli and poki for pets. Literally everything they have is top notch. If you're into feeding your pets raw/natural preservative free this is definitely the place to go. Even if you don't feed them raw every day they have a huge selection of treats your pets will love! Super friendly staff and owner Meghan are awesome! Loved the experience! Highly recommended!!!

We’ve been going to Lava Pawz since it opened. We LOVE LOVE that everything is locally sourced, my dog goes crazy for anything I get from there especially the raw dog food!! Owner of the store is an amazing person who puts more than time, love & dedication in the work that she does.

Came across this cutie little shop while visiting Hilo. We saw dogs so obviously we had to go in.😍 I was so impressed with items available-lots locally made! The set up of the shop was also so stinkin cute…so colorful and inviting! I bought a beautiful local handmade dog leash and some CBD treats that my pup LOVES. Highly, highly recommend a stop in here if you are on vaca and need to bring some gifts home for your children or are local and need anything dog related!

What an awesome company! I have a 4 month old german shepherd pup and a 6 yr old kitty and they both absolutely love every treat we've gotten from lava paws! The products are packaged with care and it's easy to tell how much effort is put into finding clean, sustainable sources for the products. I highly recommend lava paws treats for your pets or as a great gift for friends/family with pets 🐕‍ 😺🐾

This is THE LOCAL Big Island raw pet food store of Hilo and no one cares more about animals and their nutrition. others in Hilo are from Oahu and money goes back to Honolulu. If you have a dog or cat, please visit! My dog looks forward to his visit twice a week, picking out amazing nutrition and getting all the energy and love. Great pet treats to bring home if you are visiting. No chemicals, all local whole food at great prices.

My dogs love the turmeric CBD chicken treats. They work great for my dogs who have anxiety during storms or the holidays when people light off fire works. My cats love the ahi treats. The Beastly Balm with CBD really helps on our dogs paws after long hikes. Both our cats and dogs love the ahi skins. Lava paws raw pet food is amazing. A complete well rounded diet. Meghan has really done her research. I totally recommend them to anyone who wants to help their pets live a long healthy life.

Everything i have ever seen from this merchant is incredible! So far I have only heard of a few customers to ever complain, over half a decade nearly of work! Great owner! Up and comer! She is going to start an animal sanctuary to end the 8000+ killed animals the humane society is unable to find homes for due to uncontrolled breeding here! Very charitable to local pet businesses she supports with wholesale food as well now.
