We like KTA for their unique Asian foods and snacks, their pastries, and fresh local fruits and vegetables. Their seasoned meats are also really good. Their prices on most items however are usually higher than other supermarket in town. Because of that we go elsewhere to do regular shopping.

Amazing selection of everything you can name. Meat quality is great. I've had the best green onion ever. The soba selection is more than I can find in Los Angeles. Some of the snacks are not the best, but the selection is crazy big. I can easily spend 2 hrs shopping here.

Love this grocery store. We encountered a lot of friendly workers and customers. They had lots of inventory and lots of local foods and favorites. Very busy parking lot, but it’s free and you normally can find someone leaving. And it’s easy to locate and it’s right off one of the main roads heading into Hilo.

If your on the Big Island of Hawaii, KTA super stores is the place to definitely stop by. Long time Local store highlighting Local produce and products. This month I ordered a bunch of mascot items. I couldn’t resist. They were so adorable!!! I can’t wait till next month when i will post pics of an awesome tempura batter mix that I love to use, beef jerky for the Husband and coffee for my mom and friends. They also have a YouTube channel (KTA Super Stores) with the Best Shoyu Pork recipe (my favorite!!!😍) Okinawan sweet potato mochi and many others Be a Subscriber! I hope to return there in person soon, but stop by if your up there to check out their amazing abundance of goodies and support local 🤙

Well-stocked with an amazing variety of local favorites and grocery staples, friendly helpful staff and top tier bakery section...KTA Puainako has always been my families go-to store bakery for birthdays or just sweet treats to bring home. Happy to say since moving back to the Big Island I now carry that tradition. Must trys: KTA chantilly cake (second only to standard bakery), date nut bars which are def underrated or the scrumptious macadamia nut danish! For a quick and affordable grab n go lunch you could also opt for their prepared poke bowls or fresh bentos. Mahalo KTA Puainako :)

Seafood we bought here is so fresh and tasty, the poke for scallops, mussels, hokkigai and pipikaula is delicious. We also like boiled peanuts, edamame and fried rice.

Wow, just wow. I can't believe how silly they are at this place. I hope they fix their policies because that's crazy. My partner put on a pair of rain boots on My 1 year old daughter. They didn't fit so he put them back. My daughter tore the tag accidentally when she took them off. At checkout, I was written up as stealing and had to buy rain boots that don't fit because of a torn tag. I hope that one torn tag was worth losing years of my weekly grocery business because I'm never shopping there again. I shop local for the aloha but I guess kta lost that spirit and I didn't notice. My bad.

Great selection of food, local food, poke and full bakery. Pretty much everything you need. They do not have oat milk or pea protein milk (yet, maybe in the future). Very busy on a weekday afternoon, lines were all the way down the Isle. Friendly staff.

The workers are really lacking in Aloha. Customer service is not what you would expect for living in hawaii. Personal feelings should be left at home. We are all not rude. Aloha starts with you.

They have the best to-go food selection! You must try the bento boxes and trio sandwich. Everything is freshly prepared - from poke, sandwiches, hot/cold foods, salads, bakery items. Great place to stop by for lunch! 10/10

Kta bakery is the best for supermarket choice wiseTons of assortments of bakery items from manapua, dosants, muffins, cakes, eclairs and mochi donut (esp the ube flavored one).Their deli is great for catering and Korean chicken and spam musubi is a great option for parties etc for price and they get it done on time. Just gotta call ahead to order for catering well in advance. They never know when they have their Korean chicken so best to either call or stop by deli to ask.Sadly since they're competing with other big box chains their prices for groceries are much higher.Their ahi poke and marling poke is bomb along with their prepared marinated meats for sale by the lb.Get plenty Parking lot spaces and not so busy after the work traffic.Best spot to grab quick easy bento for beach or the road

Locally owned super market, a little on the run down side but they always have Locally sourced produce and many hard to find Asian products. They also have a great selection of beer, wine, and spirits. Support local businesses it really does matter.

Best store to go for local foods and ingredients. Everyone and their parents go here for good reason. They help the community and have great starting careers for high school students.Their bakery and deli is so good and very nice staff that help you when you need it. They follow health and safety guidelines to assure comfortability by sanitizing and having a wait line outside for limited customers in store.Support local!

Helpful staff but behind the times: coupons that are readily available still need to be cut out instead of being readily loadable on a customer card & @ the deli I simply wanted their Home style salad but was told I could choose from only 4, with my plate lunch! KTA simply charge a little more for or that choice! Is that so hard to do!!

They have a huge bakery, I love their Mochi Donuts, that's my favorite. They also have a huge seafood department with different flavors of fresh poke, very popular place to buy poke. They also have seafood bowls that have delicious white rice with different poke dishes. So delicious, you won't be disappointed cause there's something for everyone there.The produce department has lots of fresh produce even organic. They also have a great assortment of fresh cut flowers and potted flowers.My favorite is their poi packs, freshly packed in the store in long popsicle bags so it's easy for on the go eating.The store is very impressive, when you walk in your greeted by a worker and you see the produce section right away, the other entrance takes you directly to the Bakery, it's so big with a huge assortment of baked goods. Then you see their hot deli, my favorite is their beef stew & breakfast plates. Next is their dairy section and then their meat section. Right after that is their amazing seafood department! That's my favorite section. Then you'll approach their freezer section, larger dairy section and in-between all of this in the middle of their store is a huge assortment of grocery items. Their very good about seasonal items that celebrate the diversity of Hilo, from Girls day to Boys day and so forth.KTA Puainako is a store you should never miss when going to Hilo, they have everything you could possibly need from breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between. Don't ever forget to go to the Seafood department, you'll be glad you did!

Everything locals need, just gets crowded sometimes because the store was not built for the population density of modern Hilo. Staff is friendly and quick, service is never the issue. Good place to pick up a ready-made bite or scoop up a mix pack of mochi from Two Ladies Kitchen.

Good variety of products. Reasonable sale prices. Bakery items good, prices high. Lots of alcohol, household, fishing items. Good pharmacy. No frequent shopping card like most stores. Clean, helpful employees. Need faster n more open cashiers. Paper bag charge.

Floor supervisors were rude to me and had a stale attitude. Other times I had shopped here I got very little for my grocery budget. Highly suggest shopping elsewhere for better value (ie Walmart, Safeway, or Costco.)

Always courteous & helpful. Meat Dept will cut/slice for no extra charge unlike other stores. They support local items. Great selection in the bakery. As well as bento, sushi, sandwiches, salads & lots of local favorites. Gotta check them out!

Lots of organic and gluten free options with brands you recognize. Veggies and fruits always fresh. Great local vibe with lots of omiyage for last minute parties or trips to Oahu. Never heard of a Spencer steak until I saw them here!

Great place and nice choices. They have a full sized deli and large meat selection. Tons of fresh produce and lots of options. The locals didn't look pleased I was shopping at their store. Not the aloha feeling I've gotten elsewhere.

This is my main stop for groceries. They have mostly everything, and at a good price. The poke and fish is delicious and they make some of their own things that taste great. I recommend the deli, and the 1916 branded snacks created for KTA - the dried mangoes and sesame sticks are my favorite.

A great local supermarket. Wide variety of local fresh fish, meats, vegetables, and fruits. They also have a bakery and deli department. Prices are a little high but that can be expected since it is Hawaii. The staff are always friendly and willing to help if need be. Just a great place to go to do to some grocery shopping.
