The new site is nice inside. The staff is great. The prices are terrible abs they sell a lot of junk. Not just kitschy junk, but many of their products are more quality junk.

They generally have better prices than the big box stores. This store gets a lower rating because its smaller than the new Waiakea location and they copied my keys wrong once.

My personal feelings is that most of the time the associates are friendly and helpful but there's a few who needs an attitude check, then it's like there always watching you maybe it's me who knows .but other than that I 💕 this store

This local store has everything! Maybe not a lot if everything, but they do a great job of keeping a large variety of household and repair items in stock. Their coupons and a great value too.

Great Customer Service! We were having difficulty getting a extra set of keys to work both the ignition and lock car doors. They were very persistent. After several attempts by staff. Success ceased the day. We were very grateful.

You'll probably be able to find what you need here, but in a limited selection. They do have a great variety of things, and the prices are decent. The staff is friendly and helpful. Parking is limited so you may have to go around the block once.

Went on Father's days. 2 of the 3 people working the 2 guys not the nice young woman worst customer service I have ever experienced at an ace hardware.Couldnt/wouldn't answer my questions on prices of items without a price listed ? isn't that the most basic part of his job. then when I was leaving with my son and wife the other worker closed the gate leaving me no exit point from the parking lot. So I opened the gate to drive off the lot, get in my suv and the guy has ran and closed the gate again. just cursed at him to open the gate or else I get back out and make u! he did just enough. got to say goodbye Ace Hardware Hilo! 😢

These folks are extremely helpful and THIS is the local place for hardware, gardening supplies, and CANDY!!! Bit O Honey, Jelly Beans .. 2 for $2.00..... The BEST price for hand sanitizer.... how ' bout one that hooks to your purse or key ring... and get an Ace Hardware Card for even more discounts... I like this one even MORE since they " downsized "

Proving that you don't have to be big box to be helpful. They likely have what you need, because they know what their local customers need and they don't have room for rarely requested aisle cluttering items. Staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

Ace is the place to get what you need fast. In and out without having to deal with home improvement store crouds. Most prices are reasonable. Some are pretty outrageous. When of the downsides of choosing to live in the middle of the ocean on a little rock with a big, grumpy, volcano.

They are renovating right now, so you have to enter through the back door. You can park in the back, but the driveway is only wide enough for one car. As people were trying to drive in, others were driving out, causing the other drivers to have to reverse out to let the others go. I also went online to check for an item in their store before driving there. The item I needed was listed as being in stock for that store, but when I got there, they don't even carry it. I asked someone for help, but she just said they don't carry it, and told me where to look, for the same brand name, but not that item. She walked away very quickly. She didn't offer to help find something comparable, no one offered help, although an associate came to the same aisle I was in twice. I'm used to getting better service from this Ace. I must say, today I was disappointed.

The store that still has everything! They sell a little bit of everything ......even hard to find parts that enable you to repair instead of replace. Service & friendly associates are still a priority at Ace. Our local Ace hardware where I previously lived closed a few years back. It was greatly missed AFTER it was gone. I was so happy to see Hilo still has an Ace Hardware. Service is far better than at the big box stores.

A little overpriced but worth it being conveniently located in downtown Hilo. They carry all the basic stuff a small hardware usually would have with a huge selection of nut, bolts, and other hardware. The staff here are always helpful and polite.They also sell Monster energy drinks!

We we're helped by Josh who was very knowledgeable. We explained what we wanted and he knew just where everything was located in the store. We we're in and out in just a few minutes. The store was easy to find and easy to get in and out of. Parking was also easy to negotiate.
